It was my mom’s 62nd birthday so we came to celebrate. It was worth it. The food was great and the selection was vast. The ambiance was enjoyable as well. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to others.
First time I have been in DC. This restaurant was terrific! Service was very fast and food was delicious.
Food was yummy! Some of the best sangrias I’ve ever tasted ! Manuel was our server and he was loads of fun! Had a great time
We went for a Saturday brunch. Food and service were both excellent. Tapas style for the brunch which was great to try so many different dishes. Sangria and Bloody Mary's were also delicious and included in brunch prices. Hope to go back to try their Sunday brunch next time. We heard it was even better!!!
Food was average- service and atmosphere was good. The food is overprice.
Lovely atmosphere and views the river. The food and service were excellent.
The food was excellent, and the views are spectacular. Unfortunately, it was raining the night we went so we could not sit on the patio, but the hostess did get us a seat at the window. There is a good variety of food seafood, steak, pasta...
You can get a very large steak for $95. We did not, but 2 guys at a table next to us each did and they looked great.
We are planning on going back one day when we can enjoy the patio, and the other dishes we didn’t try on our first visit.
Sequoia on 8/17 exceeded all my expectations. The remodeling has made it bright and just beautiful. They treated my friend and I like royalty. Great place to take someone for a birthday - they bring a nice dessert with a jazzy sparkler/candle. Everything was EXCELLENT~!
The food, as usual, was mediocre at best. I brought the kids for an end of summer dinner and thought the view would make up for the food. But they are only teenagers and really didn’t care about the view. My daughter couldn’t eat her fish (and it really was awful - the sea bass) and exchanged it for the spaghetti and meatballs. The guacamole and lobster app was eh. And my scallops and my son’s rib eye were only ok. The service was ok, but I think our server had a very big station and seemed a little overwhelmed although she was very nice. And the price tag really didn’t reflect the food quality, only the view. It was very overpriced.
I had not been to Sequoia since it was renovated more than a couple of years ago. It is beautiful. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day with few people around and had a delightful lunch overlooking the Potomac, with Kennedy Center in background. We could have stayed there all day. I know there are other restaurants on the Waterfront but this can't be beat.
Sequoia is excellent! The food was outstanding and the service was very good. Five of us went for a birthday celebration and even though it was raining, the views of the Potomac were very nice. I'm taking one star away from the service because we all ordered desert (also excellent!) and they also brought my daughter a birthday desert in addition (for free). While this was very nice, it would have been nicer if the server had told us this so we didn't order a desert for her. Can't really complain because they brought out a sparkler, too.
Highly recommend. A bit pricey but worth it.
the menu is limited and overpriced for the quantity and value of the food provided. Restaurant was noisy and not conducive to conversation.
Loved it! Came for a birthday brunch last Sunday and Kaitlin (sorry if i mispelled) WAS AMAZING. She had water all over her shirt because someone I guess had spilled chocolate on it and was completely unperturbed. Super friendly and happy just like hey it happens, I gotta keep it moving. Love that!
Birthday great experience
In our first experience at Sequoia, I was very energized by the large groups of diverse families throughout the restaurant. The playful and inclusive environment was very refreshing to see in Georgetown. Our waitress was extremely attentive and even made extra effort to insure our drink selections were of the proper pace for a bottomless mimosa experience. I enjoyed the array of choices for both brunch and desert. This place has so many options and it is a wonderful way to really enjoy a hearty meal of selection and seasoning. Enjoyed it much
Food was worth the trip over to Georgetown - everyone left stuffed. On two separate occurrences, our waiter spilled a drink on two different guests in our party and nothing was really done to help them clean up, which seemed rude. Servers need to pay better attention to what’s going on with their trays.
The view, seafood and bottomless drinks makes Sequoia my #1 spot for Sunday brunch.
You can’t beat sitting on the patio for brunch on a nice, sunny Sunday. The view of Washington Harbor is very nice and the all can eat/drink brunch has a wide variety of options to choose from. The food is consistent and delicious and there is a good choice of brunch beverages ranging from Bloody Mary’s to Mimosas to my favorite, the “ Frose”, which is a yummy frozen drink made with rose and juice. I have dined here many times and recommend you give it a try if you are in Georgetown. What made my last meal so exceptional was my server, Cierra. She was very attentive and personable and never left my glass empty or an empty plate on my table. If you go, you will leave full and happy!
The Brunch was great, only issue was that the back ground music was too loud. We could hardly talk with each other without shouting or moving very close to each others ear. Everything else was very good.
Absolutely amazing Sunday brunch. We had a table by the water with a great view of both the Kennedy Center and the Potomac. Food variety is simply too numerous to mention but there is definitely something for everybody. The chocolate fountain was a hit as were the Bloody Marys
Endless tapas and cocktails during Saturday brunch for the price can't be beat. Most places that claim to have endless food or drinks take forever to refresh plates. Not here. They were back with more food and drinks almost before we could finish the last round. They have a really well rounded menu with tons of options and several endless cocktails to choose from.
We couldn’t reserve an outside table but we arrived early enough and it was not a problem. Our server was very nice. The food was okay but not outstanding. I was speechless to see our order arrive not even 10 minutes after ordering!
It was a perfect night to dine at Sequoia. Clear skies, no stifling humidity, near sunset, and outdoor dining with a great view of the Potomac. The food was excellent, martinis made to perfection and a wine list that will not break the bank but compliment the meal. My cod was expertly prepared, neither dry nor too raw, and seasoned to compliment the fish. Chopped salad was abundant and fresh. Outside seating is first come first serve and truly a Summer delight that will be more appreciative when the Autumn colors begin to emerge on Roosevelt Island. Already planning my next reservation...
The food was good, but we had two disappointments with this restaurant: (1) I chose it after viewing the menu online and finding choices that would appeal to a picky eater. Alas, the restaurant offers a more limited menu on Fridays and Saturdays, although their menu does not state this either on Open Table or on their own website. So those kid-friendly pizzas and spaghetti with meatballs were not available, even for an early Friday dinner (5:30pm), and our server did not offer to work with us to find something appealing to everyone. (2) Our server disappeared for long periods, even though she knew that we were visiting prior to a show at the Kennedy Center. They could have sold us coffee/tea if they had played their cards right. As it was, we ended up having to walk briskly to the theater after sucking down dessert a little too fast, with no time to linger over coffee.
Waiter refused to separate our checks. It was 4 people who ordered one drink and one entree. Not complicated. The price of the entrees varied greatly. He also got visibly angry when he brought out the wrong order - no cheese on the potatoe. Brought it back with no cheese or sour cream. Argued with us that sour cream was cheese. Also argued with us about well done vs medium and threw the server who helped him by running our food to us under the bus. Overall, food was underwhelming for the price compared to other DC restaurants. Ambience and view are unbeatable. I wouldn’t go back. Service was unacceptable. My airport server the following day was 1000% better for 1/3 of the price. Food was just as good. She got a much better tip.
Dinner before seeing Hamilton at the Kennedy Center. Diner was as good as the show.
Great food, excellent service, stunning views. Nice option for casual fine dining.
Our server- Jasper was great & really went out of his way to provide stellar service! Great view & delicious food!
I've been dining here across 26 years, and it is still as superb, modern, fresh, and updated as a quarter century ago.
Really nice evening at an outside table with a bit of boat traffic. The only detraction is the occasional air traffic into DCA. It is nice and very scenic. Food is good, drinks were also quite good. Nice wine list.
Exceptional food but the service was unjustifiably slow as there were very few customers at the time. Server was courteous and enthusiastic but not to be found for long stretches.
The food is overpriced..the meals don’t match up to the price. The floors were sticky as well.
Nice for the ambiance but food just mediocre.
food mediocre at best
had much better food a many other restaurants
most of staff looked very overworked and stressed out
Awesome Sunday Brunch! The food was delicious and plentiful. Fresh cuisine. Great for a birthday, a little pricey @ $70pp.
Beautiful restaurant. Great atmosphere! Great food! And continuous bubbly! Will be back again!
The food is amazing and the place is really friendly and fine.
We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary at Sequoia, and it was a wonderful evening!
