Scion Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I'm not sure why there wasn't a manager on shift or any other wait staff except for one man and a busser whom they both didn't have any experience closing. This young man made a decision to close early and made for a very awkward dining experience. The food was decent but I won't be returning if there isn't good management. I'm disappointed and feel sorry for the individuals who were working under such bizarre circumstances.
We came to Scion to partake in their bottomless brunch option and we were not disappointed. We were a little late to our reservation, but the hostess happily kept a table open for us. The food came out very quickly (before we could even finish our first drinks). We were served by two waitresses, so we were always able to refill our bottomless drink option, which was very much appreciated. The Bloody Mary's were not very strong; however, the Poinsettia option seemed to be a better bang for your buck. The Poinsettia comes in a small carafe, while the Bloody Mary needs to be refilled at the bar each time. I personally ordered the New Orleans Benedict, while my friends both ordered the Healthy Start. We were all satisfied with our meals. The fruit bar was also a nice additional treat. We hung around for an extended period of time after finishing our food without any trouble from the staff - and they continued to refill our drinks, which we obviously loved! Overall, it was good value for our money, but nothing extraordinary. It was a quiet brunch, where we could catch up without excessive noise from other customers or loud party brunch music. I would definitely recommend Scion for a casual, budget friendly brunch.
Best omelette I have ever had - yes, that's right. Absolutely phenomenal food and ambiance. Went for brunch on Sunday with my boyfriend, he got steak and eggs (and loved it) and I ordered a build-your-own omelette with crab meat, feta, spinach, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Not to mention, the self-serve fruit bar (complimentary) is delicious! Wonderful staff, we will definitely be back--- highly recommend!
My experience at Scion was disappointing. It took me 30 minutes just to get a water... a water... and then another 30 minutes to get a mimosa, and it was warm. Also, it was entirely OJ. Just overall disappointing and not worth my money or time. I would get a refund if I could.
Had reservation at 1:45... didn't get seated until 2:30. Did bottomless brunch and our food came out before our first drinks... the bottomless fruit bar was not refilled and skimpy and not that appetizing. This restaurant was way underprepared; it was embarrassing and frustrating.
Went around 6pm on Saturday for a bachelorette dinner pre going out. Food was very good. Waiter was horrible like by far the worse I've ever had. Explained the only restaurant without reservations nearby or sold out. Had to flag him down as he never asked if we needed anything and was always greeted with "give me a minutes" or "hold on" . Last straw was had to ask the busser for more coffee and received ice cold coffee . The lady who seemed like an owner was nice took our order but was sitting eating so never came back. Couldn't tell if it was starting up or going downhill. Sad because the foods really good but the rest killed it for us to never want to go back. Even when walking by our waiter he never once said thank you.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We were seated and then waited 15-20 minutes for a waiter to come by for our drink order. We ordered an appetizer which was terribly overpriced ($9 for a fairly tasteless "bruschetta" of three tiny pieces of bread with some ricotta cheese) which also took an incredible amount of time to come out. The meal was unimpressive and we needed to leave to catch a show. The waitstaff seemed to be studiously avoiding eye contact as they ran back into the main house (we were seated outside) and eventually I was able to ask for the check. The server drops it off and runs before I can hand him my credit card. Repeat trying to catch any waitstaffs' eye for 15 minutes to take my card, and eventually walk it up to the host's table assuming someone will see me if they think I'm a potential new customer. It works, and I tell the host (who is also a server) that we really have to get going or we'll be late, and I just want to pay my bill. He nods and goes to tell the bartender who proceeds to take make and carry out a drink order first (at least acknowledges me to say he'll get my bill in a sec) then head back to the bar and do god know's what. He comes back up to the host table and asks me if I need a table for 1 (!!!). I tell him, no, like I told him, I've been standing here holding my check and card trying to leave. All in all, it took 30 minutes from the time we were handed the check until we could leave.
I've worked in the food service industry before, and know that things can happen to cause delays, but this was a supposedly reputable establishment that was not even remotely hopping (maybe 3 tables per server). I have no idea how it was rated as highly as it was on Yelp.
Understaffed! Switched waiters twice and neither one of them could bring me a beer before 1:20 into service. I got my meal, also 1:15 into service and no clue that I never received a beer, I even had to refill my own water glass. Mentioned to the "manager" that there was a problem with our service and she assured me there was not. It did not improve until I addressed the waiter directly to make us a priority.
It's one thing to have a problem and try to work through it, I would not write a bad review for that. It's another thing to not address that you have a problem and ignore the customer when they tell you they are not happy. For that, you deserve for others to know you cannot handle a difficult situation.
My wife and I were looking for a good brunch place... and this is! We had typical brunch fare (make-your-own-omelet) with the fresh fruit bar included.
wait staff were attentive, even though it was a busy Sunday.
Loved the Poinsettias (Champagne and Cranberry Juice)!
