The host could have been slightly friendlier!
A great upmarket environment, without feeling too over the top. The wait staff were great and attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, though there were a few element I felt could have been a bit stronger in terms of flavour. . That being said, for the price I was not disappointed at all. I'm sure I will be back and I had a wonderful evening. Fantastic restaurant
Very positive experience. Food was very good, and everything, from greeting to drinks was amazing. Table service was one of the best we’ve ever received. Felt welcomed by all the staff. We will come back in the future.
Special night,lovely service amazing food
We had crab salad, octopus and winter salad to share that we loved,we tried also the Orecchia di Elefante (Veal Milanese ) that was very tender and rich of flavor
Bottle of Barbaresco and we left very happy
Great place eat classic but also modern menu.
Such a great evening, me and my partner we have a wonderful experience, the service was excellent and the food was stunning, the selection of wine is improved a lot from the last time I came and now is easy to reach out everything you want
So, I waited too long for coming back, is always a bargain and then the place is really cool
This is the only restaurant on Sevilla row, I thought it would be as exceptional as the bespoke shops for clothes and shoes in the vicinity, but that was not the case.
It is an average place, traditional menu, I had a decent meal, spaghetti al carbonara amongst other things, I asked the supplement of black truffle - and mentioned I would have it only if it was Tuber Melanosporum kind, as there are several types and only the Périgord one is as delicious as it smells... but I knew immediately that I was fooled when the server started shaving the fungus: it had very little smell and of course zero taste, I complained and was told it was a truffle from Italy. To apologize the maître d offered a sorbet. Anyway, if you are hungry and need to stay in the row, you may lunch here, otherwise, there are much better places nearby. They serve the magnificent Turriga by the glass, that may be by itself a reason to stop by.
Terrible. All the way through. From greeting on arrival to table service to food to ambience.
I’d often had lunch at Sartoria where the service and food have been excellence. So I booked dinner for my partner and two of our grandchildren. What a disappointment. The service from the start was rudimentary. Nobody obvious was in charge, no maitre’d. We were eventually able to order aperitifs which arrived but only after some further promoting and after the first course had been served. My attempts to order a glass of wine were rebuffed twice with the comment that they would send the sommelier who was as charmless as the rest. Our waiter appeared totally inexperienced and unable to answer anything other than in the negative. No advice, no suggestions, no charm. All in all an expensive and not very pleasant experience. One to avoid, at least for dinner
It was my girlfriend's 50th Birthday party and we were all looking forward to it. I managed to get a cake from Selfridges but it took me an hour and a half to get the cake to Sartoria due to the Extinction Rebellion protests. Once I arrived I was told that the management had a policy of charging £8 per head for the cake, which I had already spent a small fortune on, because "it may prevent the guests from ordering desserts". I thus declined the offer and went home ready for our reservation at 7pm.
In fact the guests did order desserts so I asked the waiter that given we had desserts can he kindly present the cake to my girlfriend. Unfortunately the answer was still no unless we paid the aforementioned charge, so I came away extremely disappointed, albeit the staff were excellent and just doing their job. It was more disappointing for me as I have had many business lunches at Sartoria as I am a local person. I shall not be going there again in the near future
Service was very bad - the waiter that served our table is indifferent if not rude. Plates were taken away from the table w/o food even being finished. The food is mediocre and obviously over-priced. Will not come back again.
Sadly, the old Sartoria is gone They may do more business at the bar these days. No sign of dear old Michael, the Sommelier, The refined Clayon works mornings. The arugula salad was a mixed salad, the tomatoes which we had to ask for were stale, the fish order came in a bowl plopped on top of mashed potatoes, with mushrooms squeezed to the side. The Manager is a Sweetheart though and tried to make our experience a nice one. Furthermore, we asked on our reservation for a window table which they ignored, then they sat us by the reception station.saying all the window tables were reserved, but by the time we left, 3 window tables were still vacant.
The oldest school you can imagine. Classic and amazing. The zabaglione for 2 is a desert island dish. Six stars would not be enough.
Unlike my prior experience the food was overcooked. The manager was gracious and offered a dessert.
With that said I found the waiters to be rather cold and not attending to needs
It’s a little overpriced for the offer. The service not as great as you should expect as the waiters forgot (3 times) that we booked it under the set menu expectations. The food variety was limited even on the A La Carte menu. The quality of food and presentation were both very good.
You pay for where you dine. If you are looking for good authentic Italian food, there are plenty more reasonably priced restaurants around Fitzrovia and Marylebone.
Perfect as always
Good evening standard menu, place is buzzing and the service is friendly.
However we got charge for the next order of bread, and there were no after dinner chocolates that I'm used to accustomed to before unless because we didn't go for the ala-carte. But still a good experience .
This was the first time we went to Sartoria. We loved the place. As it was lunchtime the clientele were mainly business men. However, the atmosphere was relaxed.
The food was very good and superbly presented. I had a delicious sea trout , the chocolate cake was out of this world. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly.
We will go back.
First time at Sartoria, looking for a really good Carbonara and yes it was!
Really good service and a three course dinner that was great.
Will be back.
The dinner menu deal was great value! Sitting outside is lovely
Athough we booked the FT/Champagne Laurent-Perrier menu, we were told on arrival that this
was not available. What then selected the antipasto to start which was fine followed by lamb
which was not slightly pink but almost red - as I am not a lover of rare meat, I did not enjoy this.
I did think the meal was somewhat over-priced even though no more than the anticipated
Great experience at Sartoria trying out the FT Weekend - Laurent Perrier Tasting Menu sling with some of those cocktails and wines. On the cocktail side, I would recommend their Negroni Bianco - a white negroni which is almost as good as my own. Food wise, the tasting menu was very well balanced and they were able to cater for vegetarians and eggs allergies. Service was very good, attentive but not overbearing and their sommelier was able to recommend an excellent desert wine pairing. Overall in terms of value for money - definitely good but nonetheless expensive as for two people the bill came out for circa £250 including service charge. Would recommend and enjoy going again 4/5.
It was our first visit to Sartoria.
Convenient location. Very spacious restaurant. It wasn't very busy . Comfortable seating.
We had the Evening Standard lunch set menu. Although it is restricted choices we both found something to choose and were happy with what we ordered. Excellent presentation. Very tasty food.
The lunch was very good value. Of course the a la carte is quite pricey but if it is to go by the lunch we enjoyed it and would go back for dinner.
Can highly recommend
Great food, outstanding wine recommendation and great service.
Very lovely restaurant, I like interior design.
Food is absolutely delicious!
Nothing special about this restaurant. Food was overpriced. Decorations were pedestrian. The services as fairly good. Won’t go again.
Great staff, incredible food.
It was an ok meal. Mine was good. The other persons meal was ok and overpriced really. Drinks expensive and ordered a Hendrik’s but they didn’t even have cucumber apparently which I don’t expect from a good establishment. Overall service was very good but overrated and won’t go back sadly.
Anniversary Lunch. Great relaxed lunch in a lovely setting. Generous portion sizes of fantastic tasting food. Very helpful staff and the Pistachio cake must be eaten!
Will be back soon!
We were looking for an italian restaurant nearby and decided to try this restaurant: we did booked for the offer but no one at the restaurant explain about it.
The menu was for brunch. We ordered two starters, two main from the brunch menu, one kids menu, and two desserts. The food was tasty; and since we were the early ones service was fast. Overall i think its a bit pricy for what it is; about £190 incl of carafe red wine.
The best dinner I’ve had in months
Great as usual
Enjoyed the first dinner so much that I took another colleague there later in the week. Excellent restaurant with wonderful ambience.
Food was pretty much faultless, seasonal, Italian as expected. Service was relaxed, also as expected, but no less attentive for that. Added bonus was the bread variations which accompanied some terrific olive oil.
Wonderfully comfortable seating too !
Tasteless food and over priced. The nicest part was the bread and the wine we choose. Service was exceptional but the food was not good.
Nice spot for lunch will be back
