Nothing special about this restaurant. Food was overpriced. Decorations were pedestrian. The services as fairly good. Won’t go again.
Great staff, incredible food.
It was an ok meal. Mine was good. The other persons meal was ok and overpriced really. Drinks expensive and ordered a Hendrik’s but they didn’t even have cucumber apparently which I don’t expect from a good establishment. Overall service was very good but overrated and won’t go back sadly.
Anniversary Lunch. Great relaxed lunch in a lovely setting. Generous portion sizes of fantastic tasting food. Very helpful staff and the Pistachio cake must be eaten!
Will be back soon!
We were looking for an italian restaurant nearby and decided to try this restaurant: we did booked for the offer but no one at the restaurant explain about it.
The menu was for brunch. We ordered two starters, two main from the brunch menu, one kids menu, and two desserts. The food was tasty; and since we were the early ones service was fast. Overall i think its a bit pricy for what it is; about £190 incl of carafe red wine.
The best dinner I’ve had in months
Great as usual
Enjoyed the first dinner so much that I took another colleague there later in the week. Excellent restaurant with wonderful ambience.
Food was pretty much faultless, seasonal, Italian as expected. Service was relaxed, also as expected, but no less attentive for that. Added bonus was the bread variations which accompanied some terrific olive oil.
Wonderfully comfortable seating too !
Tasteless food and over priced. The nicest part was the bread and the wine we choose. Service was exceptional but the food was not good.
Nice spot for lunch will be back
Another amazing meal with outstanding service and attention to detail. It was also nice to see Francesco in attendance, contrary to belief well known chefs do work in the kitchens! The decor of the main restaurant is in keeping with what you would expect from a first class establishment.
I do feel however that the toilet areas let the restaurant down as they are in need of some general maintenance.
Fabulous, as always. Celebrating a birthday and the team at Sartoria made it an unforgettable evening from the excellent food, wonderful ambience and truly exquisite wine. Thank you so very much, and special thanks to Leonardo who went out of his way to make the evening perfect.
From the moment we entered we were greeted by a very unfriendly and cold hostess. The service was indifferent and inattentive. The check included a “cover charge” of 6£ and when I asked what that represented was told it was for the table linens! Outrageous! I recommend that no one ever dine at this restaurant.
Had a birthday lunch on a Saturday.
The restaurant was almost empty perhaps due to the excellent weather but also the pricey menu.
145 £ for 2 for a starter and a main course and one glass of wine... having said that it was posh as expected and it felt perfectly classy
Sartoria is a great gem of a restaurant- have been going there for special nights out in London. Service is great and the Spring menu is great value without any loss in quality.
The waiter cannot answer most questions from the menu..
Delicious food BUT truffle pasta taken off the menu :( the Bloody Mary here is damn good though (and I’m VERY picky about my Bloody Mary’s).
Generally a great meal. However, wine overpriced and toilet facilities not working properly.
A quiet place to enjoy fine food and wine with friends. The restaurant always delivers on quality and service. A great place to be with friends without being rushed to leave. A real favourite of mine.
Great restaurant... a bit pricey though....
I think you should not charge copperto with service charge of the top! In Italy they either charger Copperto or service charge and never together.
food and service was just ok.
Had to wait 10 mins in the bar before I was bought a cocktail/drinks menu and then another 10 to order and it wasn’t busy.
Restaurant service was very good. However, one of our party who eats chicken but no other meat ordered a pasta dish which he was led to believe was chicken based, but once it arrived was told it had ham in it. He complained and the waiter said he asked if there were any allergies! Very poor.
Had friends from the USA over for dinner - they love Italian food - weren’t disappointed with our favourite London Italian. Staff were awesome as was the food and wine - last to leave around 12:45am thanks for an awesome evening :)
Very pleasant lunch. Delicious food, gracious service.
Original Italy in London
Amazing truffle pasta !
Unclear on the menu about the prices of the wine. Looked like the glass prices were the bottle prices !!!
We had a very enjoyable lunch and were well looked after by the lovely staff. The food was though a little variable: with both our pasta courses being outstanding but the shared veal Milanese being too fatty, dry and bland. Overall the ambiance and service certainly made it a venue we will return to, especially for the pasta.
Really great value for money. A very "Business Meal" atmosphere for lunch, quite formal and may not suit a social lunch. Winelist is very expensive, but that comes with the zone.
Staff pleasant. Menu disappointing and unadventurous. Expensive for the product. One dish returned due to poor quality and exchanged without question.
Would not return.
Excellent, good food, good service
Chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Were shown to the table and after receiving our menus we noticed the table was a little wobbly, we called over a waiter and they immediately resolved the problem. We were recommended the wine by the sommelier and both the red and white were very good choices. The food was very tasty the only disappointment were the fried courgettes, although tasty were a little cold.
Lunch time special appears good value until one adds 12.5% service charge and a cover charge and a seriously overpriced glass of house wine.
Lovely food and service was good. Little pricey but overall we had a lovely time.
Excellent food as always at Sartoria. It was fairly quiet which is unusual for this restaurant but perhaps because it was in the awkward in between period. The risotto was perfect as was the seafood. Consistently good...
We arrived 40 minutes early from our theatre visit and were seated immediately.
The food is excellent and the service was very good.
We had a small mishap with the delivery of our drinks and one of the cocktails spilled onto the table and we were immediately surrounded by waiter staff who moved us to an adjacent table for the remainder of our meal.
Wine list is good but expensive however the bar will make you whatever cocktail you request and will even make suggestions if you tell them what alcohol you like.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Eve and would definitely visit again.
Carbonara and truffle pasta were both watery. Not as good as the last time we were there
My husband has had some good dining experiences at Sartoria in the past, so we booked it for a post theatre family holiday dinner. Unfortunately we were disappointed this time around. The staff, especially the sommelier, were wonderful. They were friendly and attentive. The wine list is also great, and we enjoyed the bottle we ordered along with some single glasses chosen by the som. Where the restaurant fell short was with the food. The starter salad, while beautiful to look at, was tasteless except for many of the vegetables that had been pickled. There was a large, dry, pasty amount of what appeared to be hummus at the bottom of the plate which did not add flavour to the dish but simply made it heavy. We ordered the sea bass for 2 which was listed as being salt baked. Instead of the traditional whole fish coming the table encrusted in salt, we were served a large fillet that had a sheet of salt laying atop. Tableside the waiter lifted the sheet of salt and put it aside, then cut the fillet in two, and popped it on the plates. As with the hummus, the sheet of salt added nothing to the dish. Lastly, we ordered roasted potatoes which were more like chips, much less healthy than anticipated.
I would like to give Sartoria another chance, as my husband has enjoyed it in the past. However my husband is less keen to do so, as he says that the price doesn’t warrant another potentially disappointing meal. Shame because I really liked the staff and the ambiance!
