The food was excellent. I had the chicken scallopine and it was delicious. The waiter could have been friendlier
The dinner (salmon) was fine but the creme brûlée dessert was awful. Overset and not creamy at all
Great burger for my son and generous pour on the cocktail. My classic dinner was ok but not great. I probably didn’t order well. It’s 100’ from the theater where we saw Jeff Daniels in To Kill A Mockingbird. Great show and Sardis’ location and history is unbeatable. Can’t go wrong for the theater district experience. Many of the caricatures I remember from my youth (early 1980s)have been replaced by many folks I just couldn’t place. Hated to see the likes of Katherine Hepburn replaced by some yahoo from a crap 80’s TV show. I’m just sayin’...
Raisin nut bread is phenomenal. Nice amount of shrimp in shrimp bisque and loads of cheese on French onion soup. 8! shrimp oil a delicious garlic red sauce but the accompanying rice was nothing but white rice. The pork chop was good but a bit overdone as it was not a double cut but we were able to substitute a different veg. Chicken parm was fine. However, the scallop dish was only 3, although large, sea scallops. Dessert was a delicious chocolate cake with excellent dark chocolate ice cream. Did not offer to us gratis for one of our birthdays. Drinks were usual price for NYC.
Excellent location for pre or post theater dinners. Love the old world traditions and good food.
Not sure what attracts people to Sardi's, but clearly it is not the food.
Always enjoy dining at Sardi's while in NYC. Have been going to Sardi's since the late 90's with special friends.
Classic, classy and tasty. Always a good selection of starters, entrees and desserts, including daily lunch and dinner specials. Good wine list and any cocktail you desire from the bar. A must for theatre lovers!
Classic after theatre dining!
Great food and cool place to eat
A place you should visit when in NY
We had a great night out and the service was incredible. Highly recommend.
Visiting NYC with family
Food was fair. Caprese Salad was poor at best. Tasteless tomatoes (3 pieces) and 2 pieces of mozzarella cheese for $19.50 way overpriced for what you got.
Pork chop was decent ( they were marinated) and spinach cheese canaloni was ok. There were only 2 of them for $27.
We chose it because it was across the street from the theater and easier for my husband not to walk any distance or take any transportation to another place.
Just because it’s in a touristy area doesn’t mean food can’t taste great.
Waitstaff were very attentive trying to refill my water glass with each sip I took. And the kitchen sent out the food in a timely fashion....not too fast or slow. Granted we were there @ 4:30 PM... which is early dinner, so not crowded.
Not sure if we’ll return... but that certainly will not have them close anytime soon. They’re in prime theater territory.
Food and service were what I expected for an upscale NYC restauraunt. Very good.
Very nice experience in a unique and atmospheric setting.
Very convenient to the show we were seeing. Friendly staff. The chocolate molten cake was to die for.
Great food! Great Service!
Seated immediately, specials menu included many delicious options
My favorite restaurant - covers the essentials: good food, ambiance and service!
Sardi's......an landmark institution! A must if you love NY and the theater.
As usual Sardi’s was very accommodating as our bus arrived in NYC 40 minutes earlier than our reservation, and we were greeted and seated. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and personable. We asked for the price fixe menu and were very pleased with the choices. The food was cooked to perfection and looked as good as it tasted. We were served a basket of Italian bread on the table. But knowing they have fabulous raisin nut black bread when we asked it was readily provided.
Sub-par food and service. Won’t return.
I was disappointed. I try to visit Sardi’s when I’m in NYC and was really looking forward to it again. We did have a late reservation (9pm) and the place was almost empty. Some people did start streaming in after the shows let out. We weren’t welcomed and we felt as if we were imposing on the staff. Our server was not friendly, didn’t greet us and didn’t bother to thank us for visiting, no good night no nothing. I’ll go back to give it another try as I’m hoping this one evening was a fluke.
There are some places you hope will never change, and Sardi's is one of those, in my book. It had been many years since my last visit, and I am happy to report that the "old school" experience of dining at Sardi's was exactly what I remembered it to be. Great, no-nonsense food, attentive service, and a warm atmosphere - keep up the good work!
Coasting on their reputation and proximity to theaters. Nursing home food and ill mixed cocktails with a fast-casual service in touristy midtown.
Waited 40 minutes after ordering, and our main course was brought out before our appetizers! The food we ordered was fair at best, certainly nothing close to their reputation. We were offered complimentary drinks, but I had already ordered a glass of CHardonnay, and at least we thought they would comp the wine, but they didn't. Will not be recommending Sardi's to anyone!
Wonderful Dinner with my family. A great time had by all! They were extremely happy with my choice of eatery. We’re coming back for sure
Food is mediocre at best. It's an iconic place to go for a full Broadway theator experiance but the food wasn't great and the prices were too high. The best part was the bar.
Kyle was fantastic. Great attention to detail. Employee of the month for sure!
We decided to go to Sardi's because of its location close to the Shubert Theatre and the iconic presence it has on Broadway. Was not expecting anything special, but was pleasantly surprised. Service was terrific. Although line at door, they took my RSVP and immediately got our seats. The service was sensitive to my curtin time.
I had chicken quesadillas and steak tartar. Both were very good (steak tartar could have used come hot sauce, but that was my fault for not asking for it). My wife had steak and she was very pleased.
For NYC, the prices were reasonable.
I enjoyed it.
The excellent Maitre D took great care of us 2 nights in a row. The service here is just outstanding! Their food delivery is paced correctly for shows, because they ask what you’re seeing. We loved the Chicken a la plancha - it was light and delicious 😋 This Place has been a classic for years, and still delivers!!
Great food & wonderful staff!
Excellent service and great food
The food and service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very nice, although there were very few diners present. I know it was a Thursday evening, but we expected it to be busier, which would have added to the ambiance. Would recommend it for the quality of the food.
NEVER disappoints! We typically only go for dinner before theatre.... but after this experience we are going to make plans to go there other nights too. All was wonderful. Not rushed. Great service. Excellent food.
Sardi's is a wonderful restaurant with excellent food, especially the desserts!
If you are a theater lover, Sardi’s is the place for you. The history, the vibe, the service, the people and the food are like none other. I always try to make it to Sardi’s when I am in Times Square. Can’t wait until the next time.
Always eat at Sardi's when I go to NYC for a show. The Pre-Fixe lunch menu is wonderful. Service is always excellent and food is delicious.
We enjoyed a very nice after theatre dinner. The service was prompt and very responsive. The food choices were great. The meals were both excellent and very well prepared. NY cheese cake for dessert completely topped off our experience.
