Awesome food. Great place
Our server was very good and my friends and I had a nice time catching up. But it was noisier than I remember from past visits. Perhaps I'm just more sensitive to the noise level but we all had a difficult time hearing --except for the person sitting closest to us.
Lovely experience. Great champagne cocktail and eggs Benedict was delicious. Waitress was kind and engaging. She was attentive while allowing my friends and I time to catch up. Just perfect!
It was crowded and noisy, the plates are very expensive and they don't even make an effort in the presentation. For 22 dollars I literally had an omelette thrown on an empty plate and 4 pieces of toast on the side, no effort on a little decoration or something. Also the omelette was supposed to have salmon and goat cheese, however the salmon was chopped in tiny tiny bits that you could barely taste while eating. The waiter was rather condescending, when we asked to see a hot beverage menu he just kept on repeating they only have coffee and tea. It made us feel rather unwelcome so for sure we will not go there ever again.
Seated promptly with reservation. Server was excellent and attentive.
We wanted a quiet spit o the upper east side. Good choice. Food was very good and fresh. I had delicious fish and chips and my friends had chicken pot pie and salmon and raves about the food.
It was quiet which allowed us to have conversation without screaming.
Will be back again.
Have the tomato soup and cheese sandwich, it will bring back memories of your childhood, only better! A really wonderful place for brunch, light and airy, very good service. Prices are a little high but I thought it was well worth it. The food was excellent, we will definitely return here. Was so nice after a day at the Met which is not too far a walk away.
Had the prix fix meal on Friday. Started with a “Caesar” salad; there was barely any dressing on it and the lettuce wasn’t cut up. For the entree had the crab spaghettini, the crab still had pieces of shell and the whole dish just didn’t go well together. Dessert was the best part. But for $35 it really wasn’t worth it.
Great meal, server was friendly, disappointed we had to wait over 30 minutes even though we had a reservation.
Way too noisy
Will probably not eat here again because the eggs are not organic
Poor food quality. UES RESTAURANT!
Never received my Open Table points from restaurant as they never checked us in.
Delicious food, fresh ingredients friendly staff. They can be busy during lunch time, there is always a wait. But the staff is friendly and accommodating.
Always dependably good. Solid brunch spot.
Los baños terribles.
Nice festive quiet, good service. Accommodated children well. Courteous staff. Looking forward to return
Christmas trip to NYC.
We have to take forever for our order to be taken and same to get the check.
Don't go for dinner
Lovely food, just slightly long to wait for food and not the most attentive waiters
I was very disappointed in two main things. One we all asked for scones at 10:45 and was told you were all sold out. 10:45?????? That is ridiculous.
Second my sister ordered ava ado toast which is breakfast item. Waitress said not available til lunch????
Is that ridiculous? It was on the menu.
The waitress was not that attentive and really I felt she could have asked the chef about the toast.
I think the scones or lack of scones really upset me. You are famous for them.
I visited on a recent trip to NYC during Christmas. This is a very cute restaurant with good breakfast foods, I ordered the French toast which was extremely fluffy and the strawberries tasted like they were in season! I would recommend.
The good-we were seated promptly and greeted. The food was very tasty and nicely prepared and presented.
The bad-our waiter seemed to wish he was someplace else. We placed our drink order, which arrived in reasonable time. One person did not receive hers. After several (quite a few) minutes, we located our waiter and inquired about her drink. The waiter replied that he just found out that they’re out of her requested beverage. He never came to tell her. After the meal, dessert and coffee was ordered. We were told they were brewing fresh Decaf. Fair. Ten minutes passed before we inquired about the coffee. Coffee finally came but had to wait a long time and had to find someone to refill cups. Not impressed.
Yesw, I love their food. The service was a bit slow, given we did not meet for breakfast til 9.45 pm.
Wonderful informal restaurant for casual lunch or dinner.
Wonderful thanksgiving dinner. Was accommodating to our large party and children. Thank you!
It was a great experience. We will be back again in the future.
I had lunch with a high school friend. We were about 25 minutes late for our reservation but enjoyed our experience.
The food is excellent, with delectable baked goods and homemade preserves, but the service was not especially attentive or thoughtful. Begin with table seating-- we had a reservation for 4, for breakfast, not especially busy, with the dining room more than half empty and plenty of tables. So, why seat us right at the entrance to the kitchen? And when i placed my order I especially requested berry preserves. We even discussed what type of berries were available. So why was it served with peach preserves?
We had hoped for a late brunch around 4:09 but earliest available reservation was for 5:00 so we decided a late lunch/early dinner would work too. As luck would have it, we finished our event at 4:29 and decided to try for a table at 4:30. We were greeted warmly and shown to one of a few empty tables, so we were able to have a late brunch after all. Food, service and ambiance were all perfect.
The room is bright and pretty. My salad and scone were delicious.
I was so engrossed in conversation that I ate very little.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Sarabeth's East a few days ago. The food was very good. We ordered from the set menu and that is also a good value considering location etc.
The restaurant was quiet and the service excellent.
This restaurant is classic New York and it has a sweet ambiance. Their fresh-squeezed orange juice was fantastic. We ate there for Sunday brunch, it was very busy, so they may have contributed to some of the issues we had. Overall, the food was pretty good, but much of it was cold by the time it got to our table. We were served cold coffee. Their coffee cups are extremely small, so need to be refilled frequently, which didn’t happen. The muffins and other pastries were okay, but nothing extraordinary. I would go there again, but on a less busy day to give it another chance.
The service was great and so was the food. Very romantic and quaint. Good spot for a date.
Always a lovely place to have a meal. Food is consistently delicious, whether old favorites or the daily special. A great place for respite if you are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art area or any of the other museums on the Upper East Side. Coffee and dessert are a must, no matter how full you are from the main course. This restaurant is good for children, parents, grandparents and everyone else who is hungry and in need of some comfort and joy.
Great neighborhood place. There is a children's menus which was very nice for my grandsons. The bread basket is a treat. Everything was delicious.
Intially, the wait staff was making a lot of noise - very annoying! The bathrooms needed tidying up with paper on the floor, etc.
Food prep was good. Services was good.
Hello Thank you for joining us and we apologize for the noise the servers created. We are glad you've enjoyed your meal. Sarabeth's East Team
The service was horrible. We were seated at a small table that was quickly crowded with items. When we asked for things to be cleared only 1 item was taken & then the staff would disappear. My dad’s mussels were old & undercooked. Plates were not cleared before the main course came out. And only 2 entrees were brought out. Both of them were over cooked. The manager eventually came over & saw that we were missing food & went to find out what happened. It was quickly brought out but lukewarm & bother the potatoes & carrots were still hard (as in not cooked completely). We had to wait for quite a while to get our check & we were not the only ones not happy with the service or food that night. I will NOT be returning to this restaurant.
service is slow. I waited 35 minutes for a hamburger last night and the restaurant was almost empty. Other tables were served before me when their occupants had arrived after me. Although the waiters and receptionist are extremely pleasant they spend too much time chatting with each other and not enough time attending to long waits, etc. This has happened to me several times. Less chatting, more room surveillance and don't make diners ask for bread, for updates on meal arrivals, etc. Hope this is helpful as I really like the restaurant.
