It was pleasant
Beautiful bar area. Excellent food. Impeccable service. Terrific wine list. Fried chick peas are a must as an appetizer. Plenty to share. Can’t wait to go back!
Hubby and I had an amazing dining experience at Sandbar for restaurant week! From the moment we walked in , bar area then sitting for dinner in the main dining room! The hostess was very accommodating by taking our jackets, to sitting at the bar and had an amazing drink. Once we sat for dinner the waiter was very alert. The food was outrageous! Overall, had a wonderful experience. Hope to go back sometime soon!
My husband and I thought the menu at Sandbar looked good so we tried it for restaurant week. So happy we did because we enjoyed our meal and will return. We both had the Berkshire pork chop which was delicious. I had the house salad and my husband had the beet salad, both delicious. Our waiter suggested a pinot noir and it was perfect. We arrived later in the evening and they were out of the Ginger Tarte dessert that was my husbands first choice. I thought he would have to choose a selection from what was left on the restaurant week menu, but no. They told him he could have the Creme Brule from the regular menu! That was great too! Beautifully decorated and wonderful service! I definitely recommend!
The menu for Long Island Restaurant featured several outstanding items - the first was the beet salad that was a wonderful combination of beets coupled with sweet and sour provided by a wonder creamy goat cheese; next was the wonderfully prepared steelhead trout accompanied by small baby Brussel sprouts accompanied by a pureed root vegetable. The fist and second course were outstanding!! If you haven't been for restaurant week - this is your chance - don't hesitate the dinner was worth the drive and the price!
Hostess and staff were great. Food was great. Scallops and Trout were awesome.
I really like this addition to cold Spring Harbor. Probably the best that ever occupied this space. Menu great, food delicious. Staff was extremely pleasant but a little scattered and inexperienced. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.
Restaurant week menu was varied and extensive. Food was delicious. Service was attentive. Restaurant was packed but not noisy. We were able to hear our conversation with no problem. Definitely want to go back.
Great dining experience. The restaurant is beautifully laid out. High ceilings with great lighting. Really
upscale but not pretentious. Service was excellent and food is top notch. You will not b disappointed. Highly recommend.
I'm a big fan but last night was off. The service was very slow and the pork chop was very tough. A table of women celebrating birthday were next to my table and they were loud and rowdy
I had to ask for bread
I usually feel very special when I dine here
It's a shame because it was my girlfriend's 1st experience
Also with restaurant week they ran out of the flat iron steak which was my choice
Service was excellent, food was delicious, will definitely return!
Always a top notch experience with food, service, decor that's just wonderfully executed. Wish I lived next door.....
This was my first time and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. The food and the service were great. I will be back.
Food and service was good. Regular prices are quite high. Good buy during restaurant week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Sandbar, 2nd time for our friends. The reservation was honored and service was excellent. For a high space the acoustics were pretty good for conversation without shouting across the table at one another. We shared two appetizers - avocado toast and the chick pea fries - generous servings to share for a light appetizer. Since this was a late lunch or early dinner we selected entrees from the lunch menu all were delicious - cob salad, shrimp sandwich, duck hash and trout. Just to try a desert we shared the almond ginger tart with caramel sauce. Forgot to mention we started with some cocktails - don't recall the names - one was a bacon infused bloody mary and the other was a grapefruit citrus with Tito vodka - we both would order these again. If you have never been definitely worth a visit for a special get together or if you budget permits a splurge.
We had an early reservation and were able to get a quiet table, which we had requested. The service was amiable and attentive. The food was quite delicious if a bit pricey, but worth it. The ambiance perfect for friends who hadn't seen each other in a while and had a lot to catch up on. By the time we left, the place was packed and energetic but not overwhelming. I highly recommend this place. (It was our second time there in as many months. A good find.)
Always amazing- great food, service and hospitality. A family favorite.
Service very good as always but food Very disappointing. We’ve been here many times.
Guess the kitchen had an off night.
Why do you insist on playing music in the restaurant so that folks are forced to talk loudly.... which theN means you can’t hear the person on the same table as you. I expect a fine dining experience to be more relaxing if I wanted a night club / bar vibe, I’d go to a sports bar for beer food.
Love it. Our favorite spot
We enjoyed our first dinner at Sandbar so much, that we made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner.
Just delightful. Food, service and ambiance were very good.
This restaurant always consistently delivers great service, delicious food and a special ambiance
featuring beautiful art and elegant interiors.
Menu highlight are the ricotta doughnuts for dessert & their seafood dishes are sublime.
If only it was open for breakfast on weekends, I'd dine all three meals here !
Simply the best. My wife and I dine here on a regular basis and the food, drinks, and ambiance can't be beat. Chef Guy Reuge is a master of his kitchen and James Olsen and his entire staff couldn't do more to make our dining experience nothing less then exceptional Without a doubt the Sandbar is our favorite restaurant.
First time dining at the Sandbar. Great food and service. A top dining spot on the Island. Highly recommended.
Amazing all around! Great menu.
Incredible food, atmosphere and service . Bartender Dan an incredible asset to the establishment . Real professional Bartender with fantastic personality . Had lunch there 3 x last week can’t wait to go back . By far the best restaurant in Huntington Spring Harbor / Huntington area. Amazing creative chef and bartender.
Good food. But for the price point expected better. Solid choice if local but wouldn’t go out of way for it.
Always a pleasant place to have lunch or dinner. Excellent food , seems and ambiance.
A “Chopped Salad” appetizer that was devoid of anything resembling bacon, though it did have an abundance of torn lettuce and an overabundance of red onion. In truth this could have been served as a side salad in any of the better diners that proliferate Long Island and I wouldn’t have known the differences.
The Chocolate Pot de Creme was made hours in advance of serving which was clearly reflected in the chalky taste of the cream as well as the hardened consistency of the over refrigerated chocolate. Again, this could have easily passed for any dessert pudding in any diner you’ve ever been to.
All in all Sandbar is a very decent diner.
AMAZING BRUNCH MENU - Decor is beautiful as well!
Our first time there. A beautiful venue with above quality food. They had an extensive wine list as well.
A good surprise
Lauren the host was very accommodating . We appreciated her honoring our request for a round table for our party of six !! Thanks
Service and food were excellent .
Consistent ly good food and service. Pleasant decor. On of my favorites!
The skate that was a special was phenomonal. The restaurent is very attractive with high ceilings and great lighting.
This was an unexpectedly good dinner at a lovely restaurant in Cold Spring Harbor. The service was professional and personal, with the manager coming over to ask if we were satisfied. The menu is varied, with daily specials and a good standard set, with NY prices but the quality justifies it. I recommend this place without reservation.
Dinner was great but between apps and dinner very slow. We found out later there was a private party downstairs which was a shame because it took a long time
Portions were small and overpriced. Ordered the $15 beet salad to split with my girlfriend, this is something we always do because 2 separate salads is usually to much. Salad was super small for 1 person. $32 for entree was small also. My girlfriend always leaves with a doggie bag. Not this time.
Great service. Seated at favorite window-side table for two. Chose the night’s beef special and it was delicious. After years of not going to the Sandbar because of a seemingly never changing and boring menu, we’ve been back now twice. Both times have been excellent, and we expect to go back more often.
