I had one the best date nights in the city at San Marino. When we arrived we were greeted immediately, and brought to a nice outdoor seating area. What made this place stand out was the exceptional service. We barely had to ask for anything as the server had already anticipated our needs. The homemade pasta will definitely bring me back, not to mention the complimentary, homemade grappa and sambuca. Thank you San Marino for the amazing experience. Will be back soon!!
Had a great time. Loved this place.
What a great restaurant we couldn't sit inside due to the COVID-19 dining restrictions , the dining room inside looks beautiful but spending your time outside is even better the view from the patio is magnificent. From the second you walk in the door, the staff was is warm and welcoming. Very authentic Italian food. Best Fresh home-made Black Linguine pasta I have ever had. Great appetizers, delicious Gamberi e Fagioli. Fresh Burrata Mozzarella. Gorgeous restaurant, super clean all fresh and delicious. Will defiantly recommend it and will also come back!
Me and my husband loved the atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Servers were great and attentive. I would strongly recommend calamari, burrata, fettuccine with shrimp and the salmon. We will definitely be back.
Overall this place was excellent. The patio/outside seating area had a very nice ambience.I order the Fettuccine con Ragu it was absolutely delicious. Great place to get homemade fresh high quality Italian food. Waiters were very attentive and would definitely recommend.
Authentic delicious Italian food. Homemade pastas were amazing !! good service ! will be back
Took my friend for a nice lunch here because it was so close convenient. The sidewalk outside was under construction it wasn’t easy to locate them but since the moment we walked in they welcomed us so warmly. The Italian servers were very nice and knowledgeable and their specials sounded amazing. Food here was really delicious and will be back.
We love this restaurant
Ambiance was Great. Staff was very ice and friendly. We started with 3 amazing apps. Fresh mozzarella. Stuffed eggplant and pasta made in a parm cheese wheel. 3 different chicken Dishes and a pasta for dinner then we had espresso cappuccino and dessert just amazing we will come back again
San Marino was wonderful!! I’m one of those people who think that the best thing about a restaurant should be the food. Every single dish we ordered was delicious but it gets better - the place was quiet, pretty, on the elegant side; the staff was terrific - attentive without being fussy, friendly without being overly familiar. It was a bit more pricey than other places in the neighborhood but by no means an expensive restaurant. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Oh, back to the food. The scallops special was sheer perfection The squid ink linguini was the best - the shrimp and clams cooked to perfection! We had the table-side cheese preparation for an appetizer ( forgot the name of it but they will tell you about it ). About a million calories to be sure and well worth every bite.
Excellent service and great food!
This is a restaurant inside of a Sheraton Four Points hotel. The bar for the restaurant is literally in the lobby of the economy hotel. Nowhere did I see this mentioned before making my reservation. Open Table advertises it as a romantic, neighborhood gem, but it's definitely not. The food was average, the decor is what you would have expected from a budget hotel restaurant. I was disappointed. If you're staying at the hotel and you're looking for a meal it's fine, but it's definitely not a destination restaurant.
I'm usually wary of "hotel" restaurants, so I was a little hesitant to eat at this Italian eatery attached to a Soho hotel. From the outset, San Marino gave the impression of an upscale, free-standing dining establishment. Our food was excellent. My wife started with an authentic Caesar Salad, and I had the shrimp and cannelloni bean appetizer - a real taste treat. When I heard that they had Cacio e Pepe (pasta with cheese and pepper) as a special, I simply had to try it. It was prepared tableside, with the pasta mixed inside of a large round of Parmesan cheese. This simple traditional dish needs to be done just right, so that the cheese takes on a creamy texture and the pepper is not overpowering. San Marino stepped up to the challenge perfectly.
The perfect ending to the meal was a complementary house-made Sambuca, marinated in herbs and spices until it takes on a rich amber color. It was far smoother and tastier than any Sambuca I had ever had.
If you are in Soho, don't miss the opportunity to dine at San Marino, and take in the old black-and-white photos of Italy decorating the walls.
Since we entered we were treated like family. The food was delicious and service on point. Ocotpus, baked clams, buffalo mozzarella, Saltimboca, Pollo Etna and Branzino were out of this world! We cannot stop talking about this experience. We ll be back
I found this place sort of by accident - looking around for a restaurant near my hair salon, and happened upon San Marino. It was such an enjoyable experience, excellent food and service, so now that I've been there once I will surely be back again!
Excellent ambiance and service. Noise level low, food very good. Excellent venue for our group of 9!
This place is great! The service is spectacular and very gracious. The food, we all had different pastas, Cacio y Pepe, fettuccine with mushrooms, and tagliatelle with lamb ragu. Each one was so delicious.
Food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our experience.
Great pastas, terrific service.
Warm, upbeat and intimate setting for a special birthday (which coincided with New Year’s Eve). The waitstaff and manager were exceptionally welcoming; the entrees, desert and wine were delicious. It was an ideal dining experience. We look forward to returning!
Old school. Very good. Quiet lunch. I had their special pasta of the day. the pasta was fresh and wonderful. Very simple dish. I mixed in an appetizer which was mushrooms, artichokes and olives and the two together--divine.
The service was solicitous but inept and we waited more than an hour for simple pasta dishes.
Excellent appetizers. Veal ravioli was outstanding. Wait staff was attentive but also allowed us time to enjoy our meal. It’s fairly priced for the food and experience. Definitely worth the trip we would visit again next time we are in the city.
Service was amazing, very attentive. We had a party of 9 we were in a private room which was great because we were quite loud. Apps were a little slow to come out and staggered which was awkward because some got theirs and then had to wait for everyone else’s but all were delicious.
One of the best restaurant in the area. I was here with my family for a dinner and the meals were so delicious. The service was outstanding and the ambience was relaxing and quiet. Would definitely come back and would recommend this 100%.
The dining room was spacious in a part of the city where sometimes you can be elbow to elbow with strangers. Service was spot on, attentive and prompt. Food was excellent and reasonably priced considering the area. Highly recommend.
Amazing Romantic place with great service and food!
One of the best restaurants in the city. Loved it!
Best described as classy. Beautifully decorated with tables nicely spaced, so no feeling of being crowded. Attentive, friendly and professional maitre d' and wait staff. Expansive menu and food was nicely presented and delicious. A wonderful dining experience.
We all thought our food was out of this world delicious! The service was impeccable and staff treated us very warmly and courteously. We could not have been more pleased with our experience at San Marino Soho. All through dinner we kept talking about how famulous the food tasted. Upon leaving we promised ourselves that we would return again soon for a repeat performance. San Marino Soho is a very special restaurant and should not be missed. Enjoy!
If eating delicious homemade pasta from a wheel of Parmigiano cheese served tableside is on your bucket list, this place is for you! (And if it isn't, it SHOULD be.) We dined here for my Wife's birthday and could not have been happier with the meal, the service or the ambiance !
There was a Christmas party and we were relegated to a corner that felt more like a closet. The maître d was only mildly sympathetic. It was not a great experience for a business meeting.
Everything was wonderful! Especially loved the Chicken Marsala!
We were surprised that a restaurant in a hotel could be so good. Excellent business lunch and very attentive friendly service. We will be back.
Don't be fooled by the fact that you have to walk through the under-construction facade of the adjacent Four Points hotel to get here -- the restaurant is not affiliated with that budget hotel. Instead, you step into Tuscany where Italian waiters deliver friendly, seamless service and the kitchen provides fabulous, not-too-pricey cuisine. I started with a perfect prosciutto melone, went on to gluten-free penne arrabiata (fantastic sauce), and then had a perfectly seared medium-rare filet mignon. We also shared octopus for the table and had some amazing Italian wine that usually doesn't leave Italy. Highly recommended!
Don’t be fooled by the entrance off the hotel. It’s hidden in the back and you’d think maybe no. The food is excellent as well as the service. I would definitely go back.
Wow! Service was remarkably good. What a hidden GEM... little bit off the busy path but worth it go! Wide variety of menu items, not to mention their weekly specials, it was hard to pick because every dish sounded great. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and fantastic food. You get every dollar out of this restaurant!
This place really caught me off guard how exceptional the food and service was. Our party of 4 came in expecting a decent Italian meal but from the minute walked in we all loved it. After quickly being seated we were give an opti to choose our bread . Right we received olives and fried zucchini. The calamari, carbonara all had a great flavor. My friends loved the food same way . Overall fantastic experience and amazing food .
