A very nice bistro with wonderful food and excellent service.
Great food. Great service great decor
Wonderful Sunday evening dining.
Beautiful setting. Great menu. Everything tasted great!
Attending a broadway play with friends. We love the restaurant location, food and waitstaff.
The food, ambience, and service were magnificent. We always enjoy returning here.
It is a little bit on the pricey side, otherwise ok!
Saju is my go to restaurant for pre theater dining. It’s reliable and satisfying and we always make it out on time for our curtain. Thank you Saju for being there for us New Yorkers .
Food was good, service was lacking, but overall it was a good spot before a broadway show!
Great atmosphere, cozy, quiet and excellent service.
Our group of 6 had a Saturday brunch before theater. I had the Chicken Sandwich and my husband had the Tuna Nicoise, both were prepared well and very good. Our server knew we had theater tickets and had us in our out timely.
I was not feel comfortable about the table, which usher set for us, others are ok.
Forget the mussels.
We were greeted warmly and we were provided with a wonderful Table for eight as requested. The restaurant is a large friendly place not always easy to come by in NY. The food was well prepared and presented. Our waiter was Arthur who was able to maintain his sense of humor as we probably abused him slightly Nice experience
Food was delicious! Would definitely go again. We visited on a Sunday night. Reservations were easy and the setting was quiet.
The staff was great and immediately seated us. I’ve been here before and enjoy the ambiance, it is a bit livelier in the front of the restaurant and somewhat more sedate in the back, I like both spots depending on the evening. Water came right away and we were asked about our drink order, which we promptly placed. When the waiter returned he explained the specials and even investigated something we had a question about. I order the Lamb Shank, which was tender and delicious my partner had a steak and very much enjoyed it. We each order dessert and thought it was great. So service, food and ambiance all get high marks. It is also well priced for this NY neighborhood, it may not be inexpensive, but it is a good price point for a great Bistro in this area.
Every time we visit New York, we eat here at least one meal. It is amazing to find four and five star service with such a reasonable price tag. Even their weekend breakfast/brunch menu is priced very reasonable. Better quality food and service but at two star prices.
We ate here twice this weekend.
Muy Buena calidad de Comida.
They lost our appetizer order, didn’t tell us until an hour had passed. We said we would just have main courses. They arrived another hour later.
Will never go back.
Atmosphere is nice and the service is friendly and efficient. Portion sizes are TINY and everything is overpriced. Chicken saltimbocca was dry and inedible. Got a gin gimlet that was only half full and cost $12! We would not return.
It's always a lovely welcoming, comfortable, place, with attentive service. The food is reliably good, with the recent exception of a couple of fish dishes. The salmon is usually good, but octopus and 'fresh' tuna on spaghetti) have not been as tasty as they should be.
It was not our normal crowded, noisy dining experience. We were seated for lunch in an alcove. It was quiet, great service and good food. I'd recommend to other theatre goers.
Great service, nice ambience although quite loud, good but not exceptional food.
Love this place but want to keep it a secret, LOL. Service and attitude great. Convenient for theaters but terrific for other occasions too. Used to go regularly to Un Deux Trois across the street, but food, service etc better at Saju.
We were very late but they held our table and were understanding. My grandson LOVED his pappardelle with beef cheeks, and my chicken salad was good - especially the sliced apples - although probably needed more dressing. The waiter was very good and very nice. Pre-matinee was noisy but efficient.
We had an early 1 PM matinee. We arrived at noon and told our waiter we needed to leave by 12:30. The service was great and so was the food. I love the frissee salad. We were served and had eaten before 12:30.
Every meal at Saju Bistro has been excellent. That is not an exaggeration... our soups, seafood and desserts have all been positively memorable. We enjoy dining here for its consistently delicious and wonderful specials and the house favorites. The staff are most accommodating. Near to theaters, this restaurant is represents all that is great about NYC.
Several friends got together for my wife’s birthday. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. The manager accommodated us bringing in a fake from elsewhere, the staff were pleasant and attentive throughout the night, and our appetizers and mains were all very good.
We usually avoid restaurants in the Theatre District, but will gladly go back to Saju.
Excellent location right across the street from our hotel and steps from Times Square. The pate was scrumptious and octopus perfectly prepared.
Always superb food and service. A special thanks to the hostess Jade who took the time to help our daughter who lives in San Francisco make sure we had special desserts for our birthdays and anniversary. She went way above her duties and was very helpful. Please thank her personally from us. I'm not sure of the spelling of her name but we were there for brunch on Sunday June 23 a party of 6 under Harvey Schnall.
Saju Bistro is an excellent stop for a pre-theater dinner or a dinner at an off time as it doesn't close after lunch and stays open late. The food is moderately priced and good for the Times Square area, and they are very attentive to getting diners to the theater on time. We have eaten and enjoyed several meals there. This time we got a rather cranky waiter who was obviously put out that we had two (well behaved) kids in our party. He kept pushing us to order wine first, which we did, but we were mostly concerned about first getting food for the younger members of our party ordered and the kids served promptly. We got a run around from him about splitting a dish for the kids. There are no child's or half portions and no accommodations like making an order of spaghetti with butter and cheese which most restaurants will do. It all worked out well in the end. We split an order of pasta at the table for the kids, we got our wine (though not what we ordered), and several other servers who came by were most gracious.
We had a lovely dinner. Very nice atmosphere, quick friendly service and great food at a good price!
Excellent service; freshly prepared food
Great service, great food! Love this great place!!
This restaurant was recommended by a friend and we had dinner here before the theater. Our waiter was delightful, and the service was great. An unexpected gem in the theater district!!!
Our new favorite theater district French Bistro (that also serves a killer Chicken Milanese). When I showed my disappointment that the kitchen had 86'd the evening's foie gras special, the waiter returned with a half portion - all the kitchen had left - on the house, a most thoughtful gesture that was very much appreciated. A nice bistro wine list - a value sensitive selection of Beaujolais, Languedoc, and Rhones - complements the classic. We will be back soon.
Great food, great service. Will definitely eat here again when we are in town.
Pre theater. The food is always good and the service knows how to get you out on time. It can get noisy and crowded but that’s New York.
Excellent and the manager Luca is the best!
Our new fav French restaurant in Manhattan.
Very nice Pre-Theatre restaurant. They were very mindful of time. Very nice server. Will definitely go back!
