We absoutely loved this Saju Bistro. It's a jewel of a theater district restaurant. We will definitely add Saju Bistro to our pre- and post-theater dining rotation.
We have been dining at Saju for many years; we are never disappointed in the food and service.
This is a quiet gem of the theater district. Charming atmosphere, sweet staff, delicious food.
Food & atmosphere are always good. Our server was very aggressive and constantly pushed us to hurry up and finish through every course. We did not have theater tickets which we told manager. Very disappointed in service last night.
Nice ambience good food and service window seat on the street really nice too.
I have dined at Saju Bistro for a number of years, and I can say without qualification, that they never disappoint. Try it. You will love it.
Reasonably priced and delicious breakfast. Also good for post-theater dinner!
Had a wonderful time with cousins. The escargot is the best around. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Rave review of the ravioli. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We all loved our meals.
We had a delicious dinner, expertly and attentively served, and we enjoyed ourselves very much!
Always a great pre-theater spot, with a wide ranging menu. We had the tuna Niçoise salad, which was marred by underripe inedible tomatoes. The tuna was lovely but I think there were just three small slices.
Always a favorite, food & service never disappoint!
The service was very rocky the night we dined here. Our waiter seemed distracted and very slow like he was having a very bad evening. The owner/manager did his best to get our order in after a 45 minute wait. A new waiter took over and things improved. A complimentary cocktail or even entree reduced would have been a nice gesture as compensation for the poor service we received earlier.
We'll definitely think twice before returning to Saju!
We loved everything about this place! This place was a suggestion of a friend who frequents the city often.
We went after a broadway show at 4:50 and were out of there at 5:20. The food came so quick and was OUTSTANDING! There were four of us in our party and all of us cleared our plates and agreed that it was some of the best food we have had in the city. The best part was the potions. They where not too big and not to small. They really give you all that you need.
Also we where blown away at the price. We had a bottle of wine and four entrees and our bill was only $135. It was extremely reasonable and the food was fantastic.
Our only complaint was our waiter. He was not the best at multitasking but it seemed to be a new job for him. It definitely did not put a damper on our experience though.
We can’t wait to come back!
Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals, and we tried dishes from every section of the menu. The specials were really well-executed. Loved the gazpacho and the chicken paillard. And the raspberry tart was excellent!
We all enjoyed it very much
Good Not great
I first found this quaint little place serendipitously while my friend and I were in the city a couple years ago. I've been back a couple times since and each time has been a wonderful experience. The food is always fantastic as is the service. I highly recommend it.
Sajou never disappoints!! excellent service and best food.
First time at Saju Bistro. Saju is located in the heart of mid-town Manhattan and was a French restaurant that I wanted to try. We had a nice dinner with great service by the staff. Our server was very attentive. I ordered the French Onion Soup and the linguini seafood and my wife ordered the Loup de Mer. We both enjoyed our meals and my soup was especially good. We were in and out within an hour so a good place to go before a show.
Saju is one of my favorite restaurants, not only in mid town but in Manhattan as a whole. The ambiance is comforting and well appointed. The service while friendly is well trained and not intrusive. Food has always been excellent. This is my first visit to the restaurant for breakfast/brunch. The menu is surprisingly traditional. My omelet with salad was good but not particularly well cooked or presented. The potato side could have been much better (perhaps roasted and fresh. My guests were happy with their choices but had to be asked before offering an opinion. That has never happened at lunch or dinner in the many years I have enjoyed Saju. Perhaps more thought should be given the morning menu to bring up to the lunch/dinner menu.
Everything about this restaurant was impeccable. Delicious, comfort food with attentive service. Bathrooms are too small, but that’s NY for you.
We enjoyed the place so well we went back a second night. Close to Marriott and theaters and it was easy to book a table
Wonderful meal with warm and prompt service. Thank you Bisnec
This is one of my favorite brunch places, and dinner ain't bad either!
One of our favorite theater district restaurants. Great menu with lighter and heartier options. We enjoyed a relaxed dinner Friday night before our show. The hostess and waitstaff were friendly and accommodating. I had a cold poached salmon special, perfect for a summer dinner. My husband had oysters and then the escargot app as his main. I'm not an escargot fan but the garlic butter smelled divine! Saju is also a great place for lunch/brunch. They also have a nice bar great for pre or post theater drinks.
Service was superb — we were there pre-theatre — the specials that the waitress suggested were delicious. Will definitely go back.
My friend’s salmon was apparently good, but not great. I loved my Moules Marinières were very good.
The homemade pasta with beef was excellent! The prices were quite reasonable for the fine quality of the food, especially for NYC.
We were a little disappointed in the restaurant. We were a party of 4 and all of us had to return our entree because they were not cooked as we requested. The salmon came out raw as well as the steak was.
This restaurant is so convenient to Town Hall that we usually go there a least once a year.
The food was amazing. I had the escargot and carbonara and my boyfriend had the roasted legumes and the special of chicken rollatini. They staff was very accommodating (we had a show to get to), and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Me gusta Mucho.
Muy buena calidad de comida.
Cada plato que uno pide está muy bien hecho.
Server ignored us most of the time. Had to get her attention to refill our water glasses, to get milk for the coffee, to get the check. Usually we get a plate of cookies with our coffee. This time is was delivered after we had finished our coffee.
Our favorite midtown restaurant by far! The food is always excellent and the service is always highly reliable.
Saju Bistro is my go-to pre-theater restaurant in the theater district. It can be too noisy when it’s full but mostly it’s ok. The food is always delicious, service friendly and efficient. I have probably eaten everything on the menu by now. I feel so lucky to have found it years ago.
One of the top ten "got to" restaurants for me!! Food, service, Specials, consistent and reliable!! I alwasy recommend Saju Bistro!!
Reliably a good spot for pre theatre. Fair prices nice portions.
Food and service always consistent ! Staff friendly and attentive!
Food was delicious and service was good and the restaurant in general was very comfortable..
A perfect place to have a pre-theater dinner where one can expect to have a good meal with above average service for a moderate price.
A very nice bistro with wonderful food and excellent service.
