Banzai is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Denver—nothing else even comes close. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and the menu has something for everyone: hand rolls, traditional sushi, poke, and great vegetarian options. We’ve tried nearly 50 sushi spots across Northern Colorado, and everything else feels mediocre in comparison. The service is consistently kind, engaging, and genuinely friendly. Banzai is our go-to, and we can’t recommend it enough!

Free Range Kitchen is the creation of owners Steve & Robin Humble who have been immersed in the Roaring Fork Valley's restaurant scene for 30 years.

We strive to create a menu that offers seasonal, innovative comfort food. We use responsibly farmed, freshly harvested ingredients without hormones or antibiotics, supporting the local Colorado farming and ranching communities. We use local ingredients, whenever possible.

Our goal is to create a BEAUTIFUL, FUN, WELCOMING restaurant & bar with WARM, FRIENDLY service, & a GREAT VIBE alongside the river, in Historic Downtown Basalt. Always a solid pick for a great meal ~ several fish selections and the steak is always a sure thing. Great cocktails and strong wine list. Patio view of the Roaring Fork is a definite plus!

We had a variety of pizzas and all were good, not great. Very little red sauce but adequate amount of toppings. One of our group had the Alfredo chicken broccoli pasta and it was very good. The garlic knots were over baked—some burned brown. Service was very good.

Had dinner with friends. Can’t think of a better place to have a great time, amazing service and great quality food. Highly recommend the steak and pizza. The home made chocolate mousse and tiramisu really hit the spot! Thank you for a great experience! We will be back!

The waitress, as well as the manager were outstanding. The waitress continued to engage with us, make sure that we were taken care of, and even bring us a special treats for our anniversary. We got there later. And by the time it was dessert time it was about 30 minutes after closing. She offered all the dessert options, including the one that is made to order and would take about 25 to 30 minutes. We weren’t treated as if we were Keeping them, and it was very refreshing. I would highly recommend the Denver aquarium restaurant!
