Mikado has many customers who have continued to visit since opening in 1972.
Mikado relocated in 1989, modernized the interior design & business increased.
Since that time, we have strived to be "Precious moments with precious people.”In the spring of 2004 a second location was opened up on the Southside.
Mikado has many unique qualities, such as the importing of fresh fish from Japan on weekends.

With a stunningly warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a family-run restaurant in Tuscany or Bordeaux, Continental Treat Fine Bistro in Edmonton serves charming continental cuisine. The traditional cheese and potato stuffed pierogis with sour cream and the vegetable-laden red barszcz soup make excellent starter dishes. Some of Continental Treat Fine Bistro's specialty entrée dishes include the marinated pork chop Munich style with smoked sausage and mushrooms in a rich pearl onion sauce, the chicken stroganoff in a creamy tomato sauce with spaetzle, sour cream and diced pickles, the famous Hungarian goulash with tender beef cubes stewed in a rich and fragrant paprika sauce and the rainbow trout with seasoned with lemon, dill and capers, pan fried until crisp and golden. Continental Treat Fine Bistro also serves an excellent array of beers and wines from across the globe; the perfect accompaniment to the hearty and rustic fare.

Incredible food and drinks. Amazing service. The care and attention to the food and drinks is one of the best in the city. We always feel like we are part of a family when dining at Marlo. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Make sure you get a reservation well in advance. This place is so popular.

Inventive colourful and delicious plates. I had the salmon (perfectly cooked with crisp skin) with a flavorful caponata and grilled fennel on the side. Dishes are well balanced with notes of vinegar or citrus, honey, spices etc. The three sisters chicken was as tender as tasteful. My only critique is the limited wine list which would benefit from more french and spanish wines in particular which would pair beautifully with the amazing cuisine. Service was top!
