The service was impeccable. Casey was hilarious and helpful throughout the entire experience. We got the wine pairing and it was fun to have the sommelier tell us about each wine as he poured it. Small bites from the kitchen and breads were presented between each course, which was an unexpected treat. The only hiccup was the cabbage terrine, which was rubbery to the point of being unpleasant. Assuming you are in a position to afford the price point I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

About the restaurant
Amalia Fumelli is the inspiration behind Amalia’s Authentic Italian Restaurant. She was born in Italy in 1932, and grew up on a farm. As she grew up, she took an interest in cooking and learned everything about the Italian kitchen from her mother and grandmother. For countless hours each day, Amalia began making hand-made pasta with her rolling pin on an old, wooden table. After many years, she had mastered her pasta creations through her skilled handiwork, precise cutting skills, and the amount of love she put into her work.

Over time, Amalia has passed all of her secrets and knowledge about food along to her children and grandchildren. One grandchild in particular, Filippo Fanfani, gained a passion for the art of cooking through her guidance. As a child, he spent all his days at his grandmother’s house preparing meals for his family. The two have a strong bond, that began with their conjoining love of creating meals that are enjoyable for everyone.

This is our third time to have dinner at Il Palio and stay the night at The Siena Hotel. The food and service at Il Palio is excellent and the ambiance is very nice. We were a party of five this time and we each had different appetizers, main courses and desserts. We did share and found everything to be wonderful. It is a little pricey but well worth it. A nice selection of cocktails and wines.

I took my boyfriend here for his 25th birthday. Every staff member we interacted with was so kind. Our host, server, and front house manager all wished my boyfriend a happy birthday. The food was fantastic. Everything was cooked perfectly. Fleming’s is a more expensive place but for good reason. I will always keep this place on rotation for special occasions and celebrations because Fleming’s never fails to deliver.

Excellent food and service. Pricing seemed higher than the last time we went a couple of years ago. Still it was very good. Would return again, but perhaps a little less frequently due to the expense.

Cocktail Bar
Raleigh
About the restaurant
The Willard Rooftop Lounge, Raleigh's Best Rooftop Bar of 2022, offers signature craft cocktails and inspired bites alongside stunning views of downtown Raleigh.

The centerpiece of The Willard is the Large Terrace with panoramic views of the Raleigh skyline and a dual-sided fireplace surrounded by comfortable, yet modern, seating. Heaters make our outdoor spaces comfortable year-round. Inside, a 22-seat bar is the focal point of the dining room, while Skyview Boardroom offers a unique dining experience for 6-12 guests.

The Willard’s cocktail menu playfully leans into Raleigh’s nickname as the City of Oaks, offering signature craft cocktails aged in oak barrels and cocktails where smoke is a key ingredient.

The seasonal food menu, crafted by Chef Kyle Teears, includes shareables like papas bravas and charcuterie, as well as salads, Flatbreads, and entrees like Cherokee Trout and Steak Frites.
Located on the 7th floor of the AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown in the Glenwood South district.

Galentinw's Day special was truly special. The drinks were yummy, the charcuterie was amazing. The dessert not so much but I'm but much of a dessert person. The service and ambience alone were all worth it!
