About the restaurant
For twenty years, we have lived and traveled the world. We are often surprised and inspired by the food we have eaten along the way. From the first apple tarts in France, the Pecorino cheese in Tuscany, Weiss Wurst in Germany, Espada (scabbard fish) on the island of Madeira, to Hong Kong, Thailand and China, we have learned new flavors and techniques to add to the outstanding food of the American South. — At Plates, we hope that you will enjoy some of our favorite international dishes combined with our regional southern flavors. Join us on a culinary journey that is globally inspired and locally produced.

Going to the cafe was a wonderful way to finish off a great visit to a wonderful museum. The menu was varied and interesting. Something for everyone. The selections we chose were fresh and delicious. It was a bit noisy, but there are tables available that are quieter. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite restaurants! I had the pleasure of bringing 2 newbies who fell in love. Food was great as always! Nichole was our waitress and was THE greatest! We are hoping to get the pleasure of having her more often. And love Paul as well. I’ve never had a bad experience in all the years I’ve been coming here.

Food was outstanding. Portions are huge. We loved everything we got. Husband got hamburger steak and I got smoked chicken. Flavorful, delicious. Loved the curved booth we were seated in. Felt very private! Drinks were also great. Had a special valentines drink menu. Service was impeccable and food came so fast! Will definitely be back!

About the restaurant
Parkside is a locally owned and operated Downtown Raleigh Restaurant located at the entrance of the Warehouse District. Parkside is situated on the corner of West Martin and South Dawson streets across from historic Nash Square. It was this urban park, one of the four original parks in downtown that inspired the name Parkside.

Housed at street level and under the longest running neon restaurant sign in North Carolina you will find our doors, which have been the threshold to hospitality for this neighborhood for over one hundred years. Parkside believes in continuing this tradition in every way. From the warm red brick and reclaimed barn wood clad bar to the NC solid poplar tabletops, we want our guests to feel welcome. Whether you are sampling one of our 25+ beers on tap or enjoying our chef inspired locally sourced fare, your experience is our priority.

A full-service restaurant and bar. Offers progressively traditional, French Canadian farmhouse vibes. Scratch-made comfort food is handcrafted in our kitchen using fresh meats, produce, signature sauces and dressings.

Menu Musings: Nosh on some of fan favorites for breakfast like French toast, Maple Sausage Stackers, oatmeal creme brulee, simply strawberry crepes. Lunch can be healthy! Many gluten and dairy free options. Try a Mediterranean Chicken (or make it vegetarian with tofu). Vegan friends love the Thai Curry Crepe. Food Network has featured our Rugby Crepe on The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Try it, is it the best?! Come for dinner and grab a burger or fried chicken sandwich. After dinner nutella dessert crepes - yes!

Came here for brunch with a group of friends. The atmosphere was lively, as it was a Saturday morning/afternoon, but it wasn’t too loud or overcrowded. We had a reservation and walked right in with no wait time. All the food was great and the mimosa flights were yummy! Will definitely return!
