Rye House - Port Chester
The Rye House menu draws influence from the varied regional cuisines found across the American landscape that have their heart in the immigrant cultures that helped to shape the American palette. The food showcases the best ingredients available with a commitment to local and sustainable sourcing.
Great food and relaxing pub atmosphere.
Food and drinks were fine.
Food was great, we had a lovely time! It was quiet so our party was able to catch up.
Amazing food, friendly bartender, great ambiance. I highly recommend this spot. Gem in the center of Port Chester.
Despite a very busy night before a concert at the Capitol Theater, food was deliciously prepared and presented. Service was a bit stretched but pleasant. Noise level was manageable if you sit in the back. Cool place within walking distance of train.
We ate there prior to a show at the Capital. The service and food were excellent. The only negative was it was very loud and hard to talk. It was a full house, but it seems like an acoustics issue that could be fixed.
Great location and quick service for a good meal before shows at the captitol theater. Our waiter dealt with multiple changes and people arriving late to our party with aplomb
Rye House is in walking distance of the Capital Theater and the food was tasty but a little pricey. It was also extremely loud with blasting rock music and poor acoustics. Fun for a group but don’t go there for an intimate conversation.
Excellent food and management. Servicer was not very attentive.
We went to watch the football game, and had a great time! Food was delicious, and the whiskey flights were AWESOME
It was fulfilling and enjoyable!
Great place for dinner before a show at the Capitol Theatre. Trendy decor. Welcoming bar area.
G-ma’s meatballs as a starter and the Korean chicken sandwich and Cuban for dinner. All were delicious!
Food was very good and the service was prompt and attentive. Cool place, will be back.
I have always enjoyed my dining experiences at Rye House. On my last visit,it was less crowded than usual. My meals came out promptly and our waiter could not have been more accomadating. All in all, my meal and my wife's for that matter, were prepared to our satisfaction. If you are seeking a nice, casual spot to dine then this is the place.
Local restaurant with quality food excellent cocktails and friendly staff. Nester always a gentleman
My husband and I enjoyed our meal here- our first date night since having our baby!- thanks to the excellent service and relaxed ambience of the place. Our Bulleit Old Fashioneds were beautifully balanced, and we shared (and devoured) the Korean fried chicken sandwich (great acidity from the kimchi coleslaw, sweet heat from the gochujang sauce, and the chicken was quite light!) , mushroom burger and shishito peppers (nicely charred but needed a bit of salt). Ryan, our server, was attentive and indulged us in a great conversation! We will return.
Awesome spot to have drinks and dinner. Fun 80’s/90’s music and fantastic wine. Had the potato skins and carne Asada and was delish!
Crazy noisy inside - ambient noise is LOUD, but the conversation at the next table was very private. Food was good, waiter was very nice and after a slow start attentive. Maybe we hit happy hour but it was loud enough that it was hard to converse.
The place was empty and there was who atmosphere. There was also no flavor to the barely cooked dishes. Don’t recommend
Great menu, thoughtful wine list and fab music playing in the background.
Don’t miss the garlic fries!
Good food. Menu is pretty limited but lots of beer choices
Very pleasantly surprised by the food and cocktails. Much more of a fine dining experience than I expected. The branzino was amazing, I keep thinking about it.
Good food, but restaurant was empty at lunch, and they only had 1 person to handle the tables. Wait was considerably longer than usual.
Great food and drinks and a great playlist on the house system. We ate at the bar which was perfect. Jason our bartender is the consummate professional. He helped us pick out dinner, (delicious bronzino and a tender pork chop) and wine and made the best Bourbon Manhattan I've had in a long time. Longest list of whiskey's I've ever seen on a restaurant menu. It started to get busy around 7:30 but the staff handled it without missing a beat.
Too bad we live on Long Island......
There was only one server for the entire restaurant...so things were slow...food was awesome
Overall our experience was meh. For starters, they’re very understaffed. We had an 8:15 reservation but when we walked in, there was no one there to seat us. No hostess, no waiter, no one. I had to walk through the restaurant just to find someone to help. Once we were seated, it took a while just to have a waiter take our drink order. Took another 15 minutes before again I had to flag someone down to ask where our drinks were. We were eventually brought our drinks and then some bread but no bread plates. Asked the waiter to get some but he never brought them.
When we finally ordered, I asked to hear the specials only to be told there weren’t any. On a Saturday night, no specials at all? Odd. The good was good, not mind blowing, but in my opinion the menu is limited.
The noise level is also super loud. It was difficult to hear my husband sitting directly across from me. Also, we were seated very close to a party of seven so that contributed to the noise level quite a bit. I was surprised that we were seated there considering there were many other areas we could sit that weren’t between two large parties.
I’m not sure I’ll be returning to Rye House any time soon unfortunately.
Food looked great but lacked flavor. Service was very good and attentive. Nice atmosphere. Just wish food had more seasoning.
Delicious meal, good service - a bit noisy.
Food and service was very good. Tables were too close to one another where we were seated and it was so loud when we first got there that we had a hard time talking. By the end of the meal it was much quieter and more enjoyable. I would def come back just not for a quiet night.
Service was terrific on a busy Friday night when most patrons were geared up to attend a concert at the nearby Capital Theater. We weren't rushed, the cocktails were well made, the food was absolutely delicious, and our server was friendly and skilled. The entire team worked well together. It was our second visit, and we will be back.
The food was good, not great. Service was efficient.
Lively bar scene. We were there at happy hour but we were dining. Music was loud.
Good for a quick, casual meal,
It was fine for us before going to the Capitol Theater which is within walking distance.
I arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 for an early dinner, it was quiet and staff was attentive. By 7 pm when the restaurant was busy and we were finishing up we couldn't find our waiter and sat for almost 15 minutes to get a cup of lukewarm coffee. Another 10 minutes for the bill (although I had asked when the coffee came). Also became very very noisy when busy. I would return here during off hours, the food was good and very reasonable
Good bar food. Nice selection of beer. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive. Nice atmosphere although it could get loud.
The menu was interesting our bourbon drinks were outstanding.
Good burgers , branzino, and salmon
Had a wonderful dinner and drinks before going to The Capital for a concert. This was our 5th time and it seems like it keeps getting better and better!!! The Owner is sooo very nice and attentive too. We will return every time we are in the area.
Very late lunch - good bar food.
Always go to the Rye House before a show at the Capital. Great service and food.
We will be back for sure; this is our new go-to when we come see live music at the Cap Theater. Food was super tasty, fresh and inventive. Our server was really helpful making sure my cocktail and food was gluten free and went so far as to have the chef double check all ingredients and be mindful of cross-contamination in the kitchen. It's not easy having Celiac and eating out; I was really impressed with the consideration around food allergies. I did not get sick, which isn't a given when you have Celiac and chose to eat out at a restaurant. Fun evening all around and a great way to get in the mood for some sweet music at the Capital Theater!
We sat a bar before our reservation, the bartender was inattentive to everyone at the bar. Had his back to the bar 90% of the time. We only had one drink after sitting there for an hour. The food was mediocre to bland. Burgers not cooked to order. The waitress was somewhat attentive. Probably wouldn’t go back again.
