For such a fancy place they have very limited options for gluten-free appetizers. I ordered the butter fish with mashed potatoes instead of the rice and the mashed potatoes were super watery and not creamy at all. Very anti-climactic.

The food was subpar for the exorbitant price. A long time fan of Roy's on the Big Island of Hawaii I was shocked at the poor quality of food standards here. My boyfriend spent the night in the bathroom sick after dinner. I would never eat here again.

We just came back from Hawaii and didn't get to eat at Roy's there but we had a 7 year anniversary which we brought our daughter with and we all absolutely loved the food, the desserts, the drinks and most of all the service! We had a sign that showed it was our 7 year anniversary and they even took a picture and gave us a copy of it! In addition they took photos with our phone so we have it as well! We wanted to be back in Hawaii because we missed it to much and it felt just like that again! Great food, great service and great people all around!

We keep returning to this restaurant as it consistently offers a great experience. The special Prix Fixe event on Mondays is incredible. The service and food quality is always outstanding. We really enjoy inviting our friends as we know we will never be embarassed.

A very pleasant server. The people at the front desk were understanding about our being late. Everyone was very efficient. They gave us time to enjoy our drinks. We were not rushed in any way. Always a very pleasant dining experience. Thanks

The restaurant provides a nice atmosphere. You are able to hold a conversation with trying to fight others talking in the restaurant. The food was incredible. I would give 5 stars out of 5. From the appetizer to the main course to the dessert was spot on. Incredibly flavorful and the portions were perfect. I would recommend this place to people looking for an excellent dining experience for special occasions or whatever. Prices were reasonable. We went when they were offering 3 course special. It was a perfect evening. Hope you will enjoy as much as we did.

Had the Fourth of July prix fixe menu. Had choices of anything on the regular menu, so outstanding value. All the food we ordered was delicious. The service was very good despite the fact that the restaurant was packed. Would definitely come back again.

The night was amazing. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our fillet mignons and everything Roy’s had to offer. Approaching our table we were greeted and surprised by a Happy Anniversary card already on the table. Our waitress Lisa offered to take pictures of us in front of our beautiful table, printed it and then placed it in the card as we ate our desert which had “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate around the plate. Thanks to this experience we will definitely be coming back.

We have had many dinners at Roy's and our experience has always equaled, or exceeded, our expectations. We never had to wait very long to be seated, the host(es) and waiters are always very pleasant and considerate, and the food is always excellent.

On a previous visit, there was a mix-up with our reservation and we were seated at the counter overlooking the kitchen. I was upset at first, but really enjoyed our dinner experience by the end of the evening. The kitchen staff were very nice and friendly. We enjoyed watching them work and create their masterpieces.

Everything on the menu is excellent, but I especially like the pork ribs appetiser, and the misoyaki butterfish and short ribs.

I'm always very happy at Roy's. Jason and Kylie are fantastic and make a person feel VERY SPECIAL and welcome. Actually, all the staff in the Woodland hills restaurant are excellent but especially your managers.
The Mawie Wawie salad is to die for. My favorite! Of course I would recommend Roy's to anyone and that's where I always spend my birthday dinners along with 3 other friends of mine who do the same.

As always, Roy’s is a lovely place to have a special event as we love coming here for birthdays and anniversaries. Great staff but a bit bummed that 2 dishes were not available due to no stock of the item—the 48 hr short ribs and steak. Maybe better to not come on weekdays? A little disappointing. Come on , Roy’s, we can do better!!

Had eaten at another Roy’s a few years ago and found it pleasant. While I would not describe this experience as bad, I was definitely underwhelmed. First off, service was good and people friendly. However I would describe the food as average, but at twice the price. Servings were pretty small (4 scallops for $40!) and not very remarkable. Had a sushi appetizer that wasn’t as good as my neighborhood sushi bar, yet smaller. My entre was rather bland as well. Atmosphere was ok, but not very impressive. So, I have to say this is a restaurant to visit if you are on a corporate expense account, but as an individual or family, there are probably better choices.

We come here a lot and Monday deal excellent. However lobster tail was too salty nearly inedible. Potato also too salty. Steak and veg excellent. Tempura shrimp my new favorite. I will ask for no salt next time and season myself.

It was 'very good' but not 'amazing' like it used to be. Feel the portions were a little smaller but not the prices. The biggest disappointment was the lobster bisque - while it was very good, it used to be amazing, and it used to have a wonderful presentation that we were looking forward to. Now it is just served in a bowl, and there were no large lobster chunks. Used to be our 'go to' for special occasions. Not sure if it will be now.
