Portions were perfect!
Great food, great service, great ambiance! What more could you ask for?
The macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi is to does for! A melt in your mouth texture and great flavor. My wife had the sea bass and it was wonderful also. Definitely coming back!
Seated immediately and server was attentive and polite. Great food and had a great time
Great food but best to go on a weekday evening. Friday or Saturday night is busy and service is very slow even though lots of servers. Waiting 15 minutes after placing drink order to get a glass of wine and a Mai Tai is silly. Same most of the evening.
They need a bar back to help with cleaning dishes
Great place otherwise
My wife and I had dinner at Roy's in Orlando this last August. The food, atmosphere, service, value and overall experience was outstanding. That is why we wanted to return to Roy's in the City of Plano near where we live. Unfortunately, our expectation was not satisfied. The waiter was friendly and very attentive to our needs when he came to our table and especially with our young granddaughter of 4 years old. The food and the drinks were slow to come to the table. The Hawaiian Martini was not that good as I had expected it to be. Strong but the flavor was not there. Not as sweet as I had tasted in Orlando. The shell food sampler was overcooked and cold upon arrival. The mashed potatoes were cold and hard as well. The flavor was good. So all that being said the value was not there at all. At those prices I would expect everything to be nearly perfect as we had experienced in Orlando. I hope it improves in the future. Thank you.
I loved the restaurant and the food. I wish more Hawaiian music was played during dinner.
Enjoyed a nice dinner and the Mahalo special. The filet mignon and lobster were superb. Will definitely be returning again. One of our favorite places to have a special dinner!
All around great service and food. The menu has been tweaked and could possibly use an additional streak option but all in all a great place.
The food is always delicious no matter what you order as we have had most of the menu over the times we have dined at Roy's. The staff is always friendly and helpful although our server could have been a tad more attentive. We will be back.
It's our annual anniversary dinner and a great place to celebrate, especially when you can't make it to Hawaii...
Excellent! We will be back 😀
The New Year's Eve menu and meal was the best we have ever had! Every course was exceptional and the service matched. It was so good it will be a memory our family will talk about for years to come I am sure!
Excellent food and service. One of our favorite restaurants.
I am always reluctant to go out on a holiday knowing it will be a fixed price menu and the prices will be inflated. We were very pleased with the appetizers and salads and my butterfish entree was delicious. However, my date ordered the scallops and prawns entree and was served scallops and rather small shrimp. No explanation was given as to why the prawns were not served. We had a 6:15 reservation so it seemed too early to have run out of prawns.
I have been eating at your restaurant for over 10 years and will continue to do so, but I’ve finally learned my lesson about holiday dining with fixed price menus.
I know it’s challenging to serve so many people on NYE, but I was very disappointed in the quality of the food, the menu choices overall, and then subsequently the price since the meal wasn’t very good.
Had to wave to get attention of waiter because no spoons on table for soup. Asked for decaf coffee , was served caffeinated. Wide awake all night. By 5a.m, deeply regretted dining at Roy’s.
Nothing like a quick bite at Roy's at the end of a busy week and yet, they still find a way to make it special.
Extended family gathering for dinner. Sat in a room with another large party, so level was moderately high. Ambiance was average. Food was very good overall. Service was average, could have been more attentive.
They were very busy for the holiday, but maintained their food quality with no issues. The Christmas dinner chateaubriand was excellent.
Great Christmas menu with paired wines. We go every year and we are never disappointed.
The butterfish at Roy's never lets you down. The Christmas prix fixe menu was outstanding and my choice of the lobster bisque, butterfish and bread pudding was terrific. David, our server, was fantastic and we had a great experience.
We were greeted by a smiling staff and our waiter was courteous and helpful. The service was quick and the food delicious. The filet and chateaubriand were perfect! Our lobster bisque was outstanding! Perfect consistency and real lobster with slight kick of curry to it. Loved it!! One our best holiday experiences.
Family lunch for Christmas Day was great at Roy’s Plano! Even open during a holiday; Roy’s didn’t disappoint. Strong but tasty drinks, great steak and fish, and Lisandro provided top notch service. On the list of places to revisit with the family!
Roy's in Plano has become my go to place for my 94 year old mother. Although their Christmas menu isn't classic, it has enough choices to satisfy. Mom had the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi, which she loved. I've eaten here many times and will visit again.
Delicious 3 course meal. I had never had the lobster bisque before wonderful. The chateaubriand needed a little salt (IMO), but very tender and we took some home for leftovers - wonderful the next day. The macadamia nut bread pudding was wonderful. Based on our experience - food and service, we will be back.
Service was outstanding. Staff and management made for an enjoyable experience. Food was good, not up to the prices charged, but good. I would recommend based on overall food quality and the service we received.
We went with our extended family on Christmas Eve. We had reservations and knew it would be busy, but the lack of service ruined the experience. We waited 30 minutes to order food, got appetizers fairly quickly, but then waited an hour for the main course. They said they would bring out edamame and never did. Messed up the drink orders. And forgot the appetizer and dessert that came with my daughters meal. The service didn’t really apologize or make up for it. Just kept saying they were slammed. Too expensive to not have an excellent time. The food was great except for one fish order that was lukewarm. We didn’t want to wait to have it sent back.
Dinner was wonderful as always and the service was friendly. However, it was way too slow. We waited 20+ minutes just to be greeted by our server and another 20+ minutes after our food was cleared for our desserts despite ordering them at the beginning of our meal. We will continue dining here as we love it but truly wish the service would improve.
Great menu choices, very busy evening with a rather slow kitchen but super friendly staff.
I know it was Christmas Eve, but we had a reservation. Seated shortly after reservation time. Took over 10 minutes to get water, over 15 minutes to place drink order. The drinks took another 15 minutes to get. Was told bar and kitchen were both backed up. How can you not have enough staff when you knew exactly how many people would be dining that night.
Service was very good while we were being tended to, but was also very slow.
Was disappointing to see that they drastically reduced the menu for Aloha Hour
Great but just had desert, took 40 min
The reason we keep going back to Roy's is the Misoyaki Butterfish. Roy's did not disappoint! The butterfish was spectacular, as usual. As long as the wasabi reduction continues to be served with the butterfish, we will keep going back.
Great meal as always. We always enjoy an evening at Roy’s.
#1 not noisy like most restaurants
#3. Low lighting
#4. Great mahi mahi, but small portions
#5. Our #1 place for a special occasion
Food was good but perhaps somewhat overpriced. Service was a bit slow despite it not being crowded on this Monday evening.
Overpriced, very small portions, very overrated. Very, very disappointed. Will not return and will not recommend at all.
