Wonderful location in the heart of the city, the building and decore is exquisite. The lunch we had was a delight for the tastebuds, extremly well preapared and very tasty.
I am surprised of no Star, but sure this will follow next year as i have been to many single star establishments and not been so impressed.
I will be back!
Excellent food and service from start to finish. Very knowledgeable staff and relaxed atmosphere
We had a lovely meal to celebrate my husbands 60th Birthday.
However, we we very disappointed to see that the disabled toilet was being used for storage of furniture. We thought this was disgraceful!!
It's just good, you should go.
Unser Lieblingsrestaurant in London. Sowohl für Familie als auch geschäftlich immer etwas Besonderes. Tolles Essen einer kreativen modernen Küche. Schönes Ambiente. Immer freundlicher Service.
What a treat - fabulous food, served by friendly, efficient and very professional, knowledgeable staff. Would love to return.
We arrived from the theatre late. But the staff were unfussed. From the crab amuse bouche to the coffee the food was excellent - subtle flavours and textures. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. The only problem was a very noisy table of only 4, but capable of silencing Concorde.
Good dinner, excellent food
The restaurant had a lovely ombience and the food was excellent and presented wonderfully. I just found the staff a bit odd and not very friendly. When we left I couldn’t find the lady on the desk to get my coat and at to find it in a cupboard myself. It would have been nice for someone to say goodbye and hope to see you again soon. I was slightly cold sitting by the window as there was a draft. There’s plenty of fine dining restaurants in London so the competition is very high and you always need to make customers feel they can’t wait to come back, but even though the food was excellent I don’t think I’ll return.
Beautifully prepared food, very enjoyable experience
Good standard cooking, but nothing stood out. The Turbot and Suckling Pig dishes in the tasting menu also weren’t warm enough.
Fantastic experience. Great food in a lovely surrounding. Really enjoyed the evening
This was a repeat visit, one of quite a few, but this confirmed for us that standards have slipped. We can also compare with several visits to Roux at the Landau.
Staff are almost all cool, trained to deliver service but rarely a hint of a smile. English language skills are very poor, it is very irritating having to ask a waitress 3 times to repeat what she was describing and that happened too much.
Meat and fish dishes looked good but were tepid, and perhaps as a result the trout had a slimy texture. It was explained that this was due to the cooking methods employed by the kitchen but there is no excuse for food not to be served at a conventional temperature.
My wife and goddaughter (who we brought to celebrate her 18th birthday) chose raspberry soufflé but that transpired to be a mistake on the menu, what the kitchen delivered was quite different, a banana soufflé. The manageress sorted us out with a changed order and a glass of bubbly, which was appreciated, but somehow this gesture failed to bring a shine to a disappointing meal.
Ironically, last time we were at the Landau Michel came to our table and we told him we were enjoying our meal, but my wife suggested that he check out standards at Parliament Square because at her previous visit she had been served a rather poor soufflé.
Brilliant Roux food as always. Not Le Gavorouche but still great.
Waitresses looked inexperienced and didn’t know the details of the tasting menu and had to keep going back inside to ask.
Felt as if they were rushing with the orders.
Lovely lunch and a great experience as always. The staff were excellent.
Lovely atmosphere, great food, attentive and engaging staff. Even though the fire alarms went off mid meal and we had to vacate, it did not spoil our visit. We appreciated the professional way it was handled and the financial gesture. Thank you, we will be back.
A very elegant restaurant, filled with senior executives and various members of the government, Roux has the air of a private club. Quite formal, the lunch menu offers sufficient variety and the cuisine itself is light and perfectly prepared and presented.
I go to nice restaurants often. I’m not a foodie so much a “wine-y” but I have a group of loved ones and friends who enjoy a.night out with great food, unique dishes, and an ambiance that encourages appreciation of life’s more tasteful and distinctive.
On this basis, I wholeheartedly endorse Roux.
The food was splendid, the dishes, creative and delightful, and the wines, though not highlighted, made the meal much more remarkable.
I feel the best way to test the chef is to run the gamut of his/her tasting menu. This one has done superb variations on a theme - and even an old “standby” like gnocchi was among the most memorable dishes I’ve ever had.
Great food and service in a relaxed and refined environment which allowed easy and private conversation. I will be back again. Regularly.
Every dish on the Chef’s Tasting Menu was absolute perfection!
I absolutely loved it!!! The food was sensational. Service fab. Interior wonderful. We walked over the the Churchill War Rooms after lunch and it was just the best way to spend the early part of our day.
We had a ‘tasting menu’, Virgin Experiance voucher that was bought, as a special birthday present, due to my partner’s keenness to visit one of Michel Roux’s highly recommended restaurants. We got there excited and reviewed the tasting menu, getting us in the mood for what looked to be the appetising food ahead. After a good 30 mins, we were told we had the wrong menu and a ‘light’ tasting menu was provided, meaning the two best courses (Lamb and Turbot) where no longer on the menu. This was extremely disappointing and felt we had been misled, meaning I spent another 20 mins of the night discussing this with a helpful member of staff instead of enjoining the night with my wife on her birthday. The staff offered an additional course but felt it was a little too late and that how the ‘experience’ is advertised/presented is, at the least, misleading. One for Virgin and Roux Restaurants to address to avoid any future disappoint with other patrons to the restaurant.
If food is your thing, then this was outstanding. Service was a bit disappointing, we had to wait at reception quite a while before anyone came, we were sat next to a blowing vent and it was difficult to get any waiters attention during the meal. But the thing about the food was the pairing if different flavors on the dishes. Each dish was original, well thought and executed and absolutely delicious. We loved it.
Excellent food, friendly service and a good atmosphere
Standards have slipped slightly at this mostly excellent restaurant. Waiters who gabbled the dish descriptions and then removed our plates before the last mouthful had been swallowed. A little more thought and a less automatic style would be welcome.
Our tomato starter was superb, the chicken dish well conceived and flavoursome, but the soufflé, for which an extra £5 is charged, was dense and heavy: a big disappointment and certainly not justifying the surcharge. Perhaps the staff here should learn from Michel Snr whose soufflés at his Waterside Inn are unsurpassed.
We will come again and would recommend this restaurant as it has long been a favourite, but its sister at the Landau represents a severe threat unless Parliament Square sharpens up a bit.
A terrific little gem of a restaurant - fabulous food and perfectly chilled champagne to celebrate an anniversary. Only criticism and it’s minor is that the service is too efficient and means you can have a 3 course meal in less than 90 mins. Which is great if it’s a power lunch but would have been great to savour the meal a little more and interact with the team. Roux at the Langham was perfect but Roux equally good just a little less engaging sadly.
An amazing experience-everything was exceptional-the taste of the food was amazing-lunch taster menu!
And to finish off our anniversary meal- an unexpected extra dessert was brought to our table
Thank you
This restaurant was outstanding. The food was amazing! Everything from presentation to service could not have been better. Three of us took advantage of their spring special which included 3 courses plus a bonus course. Each course was innovative, with creative presentation and most importantly completely delicious.
Our waiter, was efficient and friendly. All staff were clearly focused on providing outstanding service, and there wasn't a hint of pretentiousness. The courses were timed perfectly. We were neither rushed not left waiting for hours. I would absolutely recommend Roux to anyone looking for a delicious, well designed meal.
The restaurant was very quiet when we first arrived, early evening, but gradually more people arrived and that helped the ambience. It was all couples, but as the waiter explained - parliament is on holiday, so that makes a big difference to the clientele.
The service was attentive without being overpowering and the food was superb.
The rose wine we chose was good, but not outstanding and very expensive at £62, but that is normal for high quality restaurants.
Lovely Lunch at this restaurant. Will certainly go back here again shame can only use weekdays as will limit the times I can use.
All food was excellent but I have to say the Raspberry Soufflé was the best I have ever tasted and would have loved to order a second
Exceptional food and service. Perfect place for a special occasion.
This has to be one of the best meals I’ve had. Especially as the group of four were all catered for including a gluten intolerance. We were a little concerned at how quiet the restaurant was when we arrived but it was perfect for a lovely family meal as we could chat without music or noise. Every course for every person was perfect and we are still taking about it three days later. We tried virtually the whole menu as there were four of us, duck egg starter was wonderful, tuna and burrata equally so. Main of turbot was delightfully light and tasty, lamb was delicious as was chicken. We swooned over the desserts but the soufflé was the star of the show. The wine list was super we had a delightful champagne at £95 and a red to pair with lamb. It was a memorable evening and the birthday dessert was a lovely surprise. Can’t wait to go again
We have been before and as always it was amazing. The most delicious food and great atmosphere.
A perfect evening, delicious food, excellent service and lovely atmosphere.
My husband and I have a few dietary restrictions, and there was absolutely no hesitation in tweaking the tasting menu to ensure that we had the fullest and most enjoyable experience - going much further to the simple adjustment we suggested. I can’t say which was my favourite course, every one was exquisite, but the strawberry and white chocolate dessert was something special to finish the meal.
We’ll definitely return!
Absolutely outstanding made our celebration extra special . Excellent food and wine and service was superb
A destination experience.
Unfussy plates of quality!
Perfect restaurant for a special birthday treat, lunch time on a Friday was very quiet so we enjoyed attentive staff and a wine waiter that topped up our glasses as soon as they looked a little low. The restaurant is small and intimate, lovely furnishings and a view of St. George Street. We decided on the 3 course lunch rather than the tasting menu, the food was amazing, it looked a million dollars and tasted just as good. We had a bottle of the Roussillon "Cuvée Michel Roux Jr & Michel Chapoutier which was a lovely fragrant white wine - perfect for a hot day. Great experience.
ROUX: 78th Birthday Fine Dining Lunch . Chefs Tasting Menu with Wine paring. Absolutely wonderfully presented, colourful and deliciously full of flavour. Roux at Parliament Square must resemble Heaven. Fabulous staff who also presented a signed card from the chef and team and a happy birthday treat at the end. A big THANKS.
Formal dining food was good (not excellent) and service was good as well.
