Rotunda Bar and Restaurant
Rotunda, with its outdoor terrace sitting alongside Regent’s Canal, is a hidden gem with beautiful views situated in the heart of King’s Cross. Enjoy seasonal, modern British food featuring quality meat reared on our very own Northumberland farm and hung and butchered onsite.
There is also an impressive selection of craft beers, wines and delicious cocktails served in the lively bar. Over the weekend, we offer a brunch menu and also a range of roast dinners on a Sunday. You can add two hours of bottomless prosecco to either for just £20.

Very enjoyable early dinner at Rotunda. Food fresh and delicious. Warm welcome from front of house which continued with our waiter. Quite a find. Looking forward to returning soon.
Service was superb and friendly. It was very quiet though on a Monday lunchtime, I think it's probably busier in the evenings as there's a theatre in the building.
I had the Steak and Ale pie which was nice, but certainly didn't have enough steak in it for the price (£16 I think).
The sides of Spiced Sweet Potato Mash, and glazed carrots were delicious.
Good Sunday lunch. One dodgy starter but taken off bill by attentive M d'
We have been here a few times. The first time was our best....but over time the quality of the food has fallen. This time was shocking....our last.
An excellent evening in every way lovely venue, great food and friendly professional staff. We will definitely be returning!
Good location and good food made this venue a great place for an informal meeting over lunch
Delicious food and great service
Excellent unpretentious food and good service. Great atmosphere both outside and inside. Nice music.
Fabulous location by the canal, very peaceful with great service
Oh dear. So much promise with beautiful views of canal and good nibbles. Slow service with drinks made up for by very earnest and polite Waitress. But then the prawns were undercooked. We were offered free dessert but it never arrived! Final nail in the coffin was the truly horrific live music that kicked in - couldn’t get out of there quick enough. A real shame because rest of food was good and had so much potential.
Nice restaurant. Service staff was fun and knowledgable
It is a shame that this restaurant fails to deliver an enjoyable dinner experience. The service is friendly and efficient enough and clearly they care about the food's quality and provenance. It's a disappointment, therefore, that they fail to make those ingredients sing. The excellent St John's sourdough was stale, probably fresh on Friday, but not great for £2.50 on a Saturday night. The rib-eye steak was juicy and tender, but for £28, we could have done with not being charged another £2.00 for a small pot of sauce and £4.00 for a portion of under-cooked fries. Folk would say I should have called them out at the time but the problem with that is that life is too short and it spoils the flow of the evening. Not good enough.
There are very few restaurants which have exceptional quality of food as good as Rotunda. The service is exceptional and you feel like a prince eating here. We have been attending for 6 years and have always left feeling like we have been fed and treated like royalty.
The restaurant was pretty empty and the service was really poor. We had to ask to place our order.
We have often eaten at the Rotunda before a concert. On this latest occasion the waitress was pleasant and did her best but was handicapped with limited English which led to confusion over the menu. Two of us were served with a lamb dish which was not on the menu we had been provided with and which we would have thought the supervisor or the kitchen might have realised was an issue. When we raised the problem we were given extra vegetables and an extra glass wine and not charged for a beer. We appreciated this gesture but were disappointed with the dish we were served with and did not get the one we had wanted.
it seemed they were short staffed. Despite their best efforts we waiting long to place orders. They messed up a few of our drinks order (where by they would bring two of the same drinks order) and then promised to take it off the bill which they did not. it was my friends birthday and were sweet to bring a cake out for her on the house. The food was okay. I had eggs royal. The salmon was the cheap stuff - which was hugely disapointing. the Birthday girl had a steak and egg which was fine.
Nice location and the food is nice, but too expensive for what it is.
Rotunda Restaurant is a great location for a long, lazy late midweek lunch. Wonderful setting, good table d’hôte menu as well as the a la carte. Service was very good.
Sat out by the canal on a summery evening celebrating my engagement - Rotunda was ideal. Food delicious (we had mains and desserts.) It was super busy and as we had to wait for mains the waiter kindly gave us a drink on the house. Love this venue.
Loud bar music made conversation in the restaurant uncomfortable. Service very slow. The waitress serving the wine clearly knew nothing about wine; could hardly open a bottle. Overcharged by 66% for the wine. Food, however, excellent, as always.
Excellent staff ,perfect food and excellent service
Friendly staff, good cocktails, nice location near King's Cross station
Tasty food, good service, comfy seating. Nothing to dislike.
Breakfasts were nice, with good portion size
Got a lot busier post lunch
restaurant felt a little soulless but can imagine is lovely in the summer
Staff clanking cutlery and plates right behind our head - ear piercing noise - surprised it’s not done out the back - we needed move tables. Food was average. Coprporate / stale atmosphere- Very disappointed, will not be returning or recommending
we booked with you but on arrival on two nights we ate there in a week,we got the impression they did nor recognise our booking with you,or who you were.we were shown to our table but this happened twice,in future we might book direct. We used to get prawn crackers but this has now stopped. We will return in future.
This restaurant had said there was no booking made so we were promptly turned away.
Had dinner before a concert it has a really nice menu, food was very tasty and nice wine selection, we shared the white chocolate parfait, sloe Gin plums pudding - so good!
Excellent service. When my meal choice arrived it was a lot more spicy than the menu implied. I have to eat a plain diet and the restaurant was very understanding and swapped my meal without any trouble. Will definitely visit again.
The Rotunda was recommended to me as a good place to meet a friend in a pleasant environment to catch up with news over lunch. The environment was fine and the staff helpful - they left us alone to talk for a long time which was nice. We had the set lunch menu and the food, however, was disappointing. For my main course I had a cheese and potato pie, which was very dull, with kale, which was so salty as to be inedible. They brought some more, but only after I'd finished the rest of the course, and the new kale was barely warm, not really cooked. My friend had honeyed figs for a starter, which were nice but swamped in far too much creme fraiche, and her grey mullet was just OK. We shared a chocolate brownie, which was delicious, but I felt uncomfortable at having invited my friend for such a disappointing meal.
The food was very tasty but quite expensive for what it was. The staff were not exactly rude but slightly intimidating and not overly pleased to serve us. There were a few mistakes with our orders and the service was slow, which was surprising given that the restaurant did not seem overly busy.
Lovely setting on canal close to Granary Square. Relaxed bar and restaurant with attentive service. Imaginative menu with good quality food, well presented. As well as steaks and burgers they serve well cooked fish dishes and good selection of side dishes.
The restaurant was quite empty , we had to go to a meeting after and had only 40 minutes to eat therefore ordered one dish and conveyed our time frame .
We waited for 35 minutes , my salad was old and the bread they serve is not good . The two other people had salmon which was ok .
We had the feeling that there was no management in the restaurant . They apologised and gave us a discount which was nice .
Too bad because the view is lovely and it could be a special spot !
Had a very enjoyable dinner after seeing a show at King's Place. Very convenient and excellent service. Menu choice a little limited and a touch pricey.
Great restaurant alongside the canal. We were having a business dinner and get a round table as required. A bit noisy though and run out of wine we were drinking.
Great location, good food if slightly overpriced. Good service
The cooking of the food was very delayed. It is the longest I have ever had to wait for main courses. - ever. That said the wait staff were great at covering and it was a nice spot to sit outside.
The terrace is lovely both for summer evenings and lunches and the big windows make it great even in cooler weather. Food and drink selection is good and staff are very friendly although tend to be slow at bringing drinks.
A very disappointing experience .We clearly had an inexperienced waitress who didn't really know what was going on -in answer to the question what the craft beers listed on the menu were the response was "they change every couple of weeks" without any attempt to find the names .It was a very busy evening outside on the terace with people having summer drinks and they seemed more interested in serving beers .There was only one other table taken in the restaurant but the service was painfully slow.
My steak and chips were cold (i know that steak is better if it has rested but tepid meat is not v appetising ) .The evening was summed up by a young waiter grabbing the remains of our white wine bottle and sloshing it in to our glasses (including my half glass of red)
All in all a bit of a shambles of a restaurant -probably good on the terrace for drinks but not to eat at
