Cafe Rogano offers less formal dining with a bistro style menu and a fantastic pre-theatre selection. The oyster bar is where people come to see and be seen. A chilled glass of champagne is always on hand, perfect to wash down the oysters.

Very good service. Staff very attentive. Art deco style was lovely. Food was very good but not enough vegetables.
Service, from the greeting to departure, was friendly and efficient. Dining room was quiet enough to talk but not too quiet that you could be overheard.
Gave only 4 stars for food as, though the cod in the main course was excellent, I found the accompanying mash a little cloggy for my palate. Instead of dessert, I chose coffee and petit fours. Delicious.
Service from start to finish was great food and atmosphere was fab would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful slice of history to friends
Looking a bit tired and dowdy since my last visit. Decent food, bread not good, nice oysters. Reasonable value but used to be better
very traditional and stylist restaurant. Not cheap but excellent food, wine and service at a level I would expect for the cost , took friends who were visiting glasgow and we had a lovely evening. Will go again for a treat.
Service awful food not much better. Left waiting for ages for drinks to be served
Great experience of this Glasgow icon which as visitors to the city was on our to do list and it was very good. Lost my checked in umbrella but fully compensated for a new one. Would recommend this establishment either for a casual drink or to enjoy eating there (we did).
Fabulous meal with superb service! The Loch Fyne oysers were a delight and my Lobster Thermidor outstanding.
I dined at Rogano's a number of times 50 years ago. Things change but the reputation still seemed good. This was to be a special dinner and while the food and service were OK, they were definitely not special. A pity.
Great service, lovely food and the scallop starter was amazing. I will certainly go back and recommend it.
My only real issue was over the coat of the wine. Cheapest price of abottle was around £33 - a bit too much for my wallet. There should surely be a bottle available around the £20 mark.
The seafood platters were very fresh, tasty and generous, the champagne and wine was delicious, the service was spot on, and it was good value considering the quality. The atmosphere was delightfully old school. Will definitely return for future special meals out or at least a bite and a drink at the bar.
Character decor and history of this art decor establishment is worth a visit
Food and kitchen not the standard that the prices demand
Because we are not residents of Glasgow We have been occasional customers for last thirty years and we consider that standards have slipped.
We recently ate in the main restaurant and as always the food, service and atmosphere were above expectations.
The Rogano is an institution in Glasgow city centre and long may it continue.
Tables too close
Very expensive for the quality of the food. My lobster was tough. The waiter was very good and offered to get a new plate. I declined this and our desserts were deducted from the bill. Very impressed with the service. The toilets are a real disgrace for a restaurant of that level. Worn and dated and my husband said the men’s smelt really badly. He doesn’t normally notice. We will not be back and will not be recommending it.
Our favourite restaurant, always surpasses expectations.
Should I pass away anytime soon I can honestly say that I have tasted the best Dry fillet of Beef I have ever had anywhere in the world.Worth every penny.
Excellent food and service would recommend this restaurant to others
Rogano's restaurant lived up to my expectations. Seafood cuisine and wine selection was excellent. Service was friendly and accommodating. Art Deco style was lovely. Highly recommend.
Rogano continues to deliver.
The scallops and the Turbot was truely delicious and the wine was amazing. Service added to the experience and made my birthday celebration even more special
We came up to Glasgow for our son's 40th birthday, we have been a few times but always down stairs. this time we were up stairs it was brillant, amazing food was fantastic sevice wonderful, drinks a bit expensive but we did all start with a cocktail. Will be back again soon all the way from Stoke on Trent.
Despite a restricted menu the food was excellent and we enjoyed our visit.
Excellent food and staff.Fabulous dining experience.
Fabulous experience, staff are fantastic. Food is first rate. Ambience is opulent. Toilets are tired and in dire need of refurbishment, the ladies were bad enough but the gents were really awful and became topic of conversation, really not in keeping with every other part of the evening. So to the powers that be...please make the toilets a priority as it is dragging a wonderful dining experience down and your poor staff don't deserve the earache!
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Will be back soon.
Have been to Romano many times and always enjoyed but disappointing this time took quite a while to come and when it did the bream was overcooked and very dry and served with a greasy tasting potato cake not good I did get another but not much better
Excellent experience friendly and attentive staff , scrumptious food. Stunning decor and lovely ambiance
Rogano is a great choice for fish-eaters who enjoy a bit of old school charm with their meal. It's a beautiful building evocative of the art deco period and the service is great, too. The menu is quite brief, especially for those of us who don't eat fish, but the food was tasty. Portions on the small side. A good choice for a special occasion meal or for visitors from out of town.
From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. The members of staff who dealt with us were friendly, professional and helpful. As always, the food was to a high standard, and the lunch menu was good value for money.
I love this restaurant.
Honestly so disappointing. A place completely living off a reputation of the past. Went for my partners Birthday and had the tasting menu with wine pairings. Probably the most overpriced meal I’ve ever had. I’m from Glasgow but now live in London and can say that if this was in London serving this food at these prices it would be shut. The place itself is worth seeing but that’s where it stops, even the toilets look like they’ve not been touched in 30yrs. Avoid at all costs!
A perfect anniversary dinner! We had the Table d’Hote which was delicious and a great value. Excellent service. Would recommend for a special occasion (and let them know when you’re making the reservation).
As usual, the food and service were impeccable. We have eaten at Rogano's many times and it continues to offer a unique dining experience
First visit since 2015. Look forward to going back.
I have wanted to eat here for a number of years, but I can safely say it was not worth the wait. Service was good food poor uninteresting and nothing special for the price. I would not return and would not recommend. Very disappointed ☹️
Food was ok but expensive for what it was. Restaurant decor was tired. Felt like Rogano has a lot of hype that it doesn’t live up to, or thinks it doesn’t have to. Average to disappointing experience based on the reputation it has in Glasgow.
We enjoyed a pleasant lunch in pleasant surroundings, although I think the prices are rather over-inflated for a run-of-the-mill lunch.
Special treat before going to Royal Concert Hall to see John Barrowman.
It was fantastic ! Service was outstanding, food was wonderful !
Can't say anything negative about the place.
Think we might be back.
Very disappointing meal from start to end. Waited nearly an hour for our starters and within this time we received one complimentary roll and waited nearly 30mins for our initial drink order too.
When the mains came my partners steak was very nice (although it excluded the garlic butter) but my hot seafood platter was a glorified plate of bland mussels with a few extras. We were told at ordering they had no langoustines and would be replaced by Scallops etc with is fine but the menu stated it came with 2 oysters but none were served. The whole thing was bland and tasteless (and seemed mussels were the additional add on instead of scallops).
When it came to dessert my partner asked if the ice cream could be changed from gingerbread to just Vanilla which the waiter agreed to but low and behold, when the dessert arrived it was served with gingerbread ice cream.
Lastly, towards the end of the main we ordered an additional drink but after our dessert it still hadn’t arrived, however it was included on the bill. This was rectified quickly to be fair but still not great.
The things above are all trivial issues when treated individually (along with swatting a lot of flies throughout the night?) but for the price and reputation of this restaurant when collectively grouped within one meal then it’s nowhere near good enough and attention to detail seemed lazy and a wee bit careless. Probably won’t return and look to spend the £150 bill on somewhere else in future. Expected better but really disappointed.
