We had a very nice birthday celebration for our 92 year old Uncle. Everyone enjoyed the meals and the value was good/well within expectations. We were very comfortable and not rushed at all. The servers did a very nice job, thank you. The view is fantastic, and the resort did a good job of mitigating all the construction ongoing. You have a gem in terms of location and appeal - - good luck and perhaps we'll see you again for his 93rd birthday. Best, Scott Jung

Rod and Reel was great for breakfast and dinner. Very convenient, nice view and right next to the casino.

Rod N Reel may be suffering from much of what’s going on with turn-over as a result of pandemic and supply issues. Usually I have a great time, dinner great, but this instance several new servers, who routinely forgot requests you made. The food portions were very small, for the Mariner’s Platter only received piece of flounder (small and wasn’t cooked as requested, the took back to kitchen to re-fry and it came out crispy as desired but the flavor was certainly off) small portions: 2-shrimp, 2-sm. Scallops, and 2-sm. Oysters. And we paid over $100 for that dinner. Breakfast was worse, bacon was good, grits good, but the eggs were terrible we didn’t eat them, they appeared to be box ready make eggs. They definitely have declined since my last visit in August 2021. I can’t recommend this restaurant until they turn things around big time.

The restaurant is under construction which took away from the beautiful view it offers. The menu has been tailored to accommodate the changes caused by the pandemic and food shortages. Hopefully in time the restaurant will improve back to excellent quality service

Seafood was good, but side (mashed potatoes) was not good. No flavor, and consistency was dry and lumpy.

Trying to eat while beating back flies made for a less than appetizing dining experience!! The food was only average, so the prices cannot be justified; "market price" was listed next to almost every dish on the menu.

Somewhat of let down. Food was delivered to slow. Order incorrect, requested item missing from order, never corrected (even after advising two different waitress/more than 3 times). Manager did make an adjustment on the bill. However not the tip that was already included.

Our server was very good. So she is the only positive. We got off to a not so good start as we asked for outside seating and the host told us to go outside and turn left for seating. We get there and it’s another restaurant with a different menu. We go back inside and the host says it’s their sister restaurant and but we were a little turned off that she did t just say that before having us believe it was the same place.

This may have been a good spot years ago but now it just plain old awful! The food was just bad... I had a crab imperial dish and the crab meat was with out a doubt spoiled. I sent it back and ordered fried shrimp to be on the safe side and that was okay but not what I wanted, so my husband eat it. The service was really good, our waiter was very apologetic and offered to bring me whatever else on the menu I wanted but after tasting spoiled crab meat my appetite was gone. The place has seen better days and in need of a renovation. The restaurant did not look as clean as I would have wanted and after my experience with the food it all makes sense. On the Eastern Shore you can do better, so don't waste your time or money.

This whole experience was awful. The host clearly was new and the restaurant was understaffed, which is fine. We checked in early and would’ve been fine waiting but the host was told to seat us. She sat us at a booth that was so cramped, it was digging into my stomach (for reference, I’m a size twelve, this shouldn’t be a table). When we moved to the table next to it, she was unaware that while servers have sections, you can switch two side by side tables easily. The original server was fine with this but the manager/server on duty was condescending and wouldn’t trade with him even though she was weeded. Not to mention the flies crawling all over the indoor table. We ended up leaving as we were there to celebrate my dead moms birthday and they made us feel unwelcome. We ended up at a place down the street that had much better service.

This place could use an immediate update. Too many fly’s and nets within the dining area. Very outdated. The food was just okay. The waitress was kind.

Will not be returning.

We expected to eat outside on the deck but when we arrived the deck was not open.
We came a long way (2 hours) to get here and breathe air from the Bay while we ate fresh seafood. But that was not possible. So we went next door, to the cafe, to get crabcakes that we could eat outside

I think that rod n reel is a really nice place to go eat and enjoy yourself. just a few things that I did not like was the waiter never returned back at our table to offer a refill of drinks.
And when it was time to pay the bill I noticed that we were charged around 18% tip, and if we had not noticed it on the receipt we would have paid it again because when he took our cards to ring up payment and brought back the receipts to sign, it only showed the total of the food order and not a break down of charges. and under the grand total was a line for a tip had we not noticed it earlier we would have paid it again because the waiter never tells you that a tip has been added in before had. I think that the we should have the right to chews on how much of a tip to pay.

I'd heard so much about Rod 'N' Reel and I was thinking that it was going to be nice. We traveled over 30 miles to get there. The location is nice. However, the rest was terrible. The first problem was when we got our drinks the outside of the glass had food particles on it. That was replaced after I brought it to the attention of the server.
I should have known that it wasn't going to be good when I asked the waiter how the macaroni and cheese was. His response to me was, "It's hit or miss." I should have walked out right then and there. However, I stayed and chose the seafood platter fried because when I asked how they prepared it, he told me most of the time it's fried. It was sooooooo dry and bland. I also got the mashed potatoes because of the remark from the waiter about the macaroni and cheese. Have you ever had dry mashed potatoes? It didn't help even after I put butter on them. My friend got the cream of crab soup and she had to put salt and pepper in it to even make it tasty. We got the crab dip appetizer and the only thing that was good about that was the bread. It was nice and hot. The waiter's service was so bad and he looked so unkept. My friend's meal cost $40.28. She gave him a $100 bill and he brought her $59 change instead of the correct amount. Maybe I went on a bad day. But, as I feel now, I won't be going back.

It took a looooong time to get out meal and it wasn't very crowded. Food was good once it did arrive. Desserts were overpriced. View of the water was excellent and enjoyable. Terrible, loud music outside in the amphitheater, especially since it was a family Easter type of day. The view is what makes this place above average.

We've gone to Rod N Reel for many years. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. Ordered a rather expensive meal and the seafood was way over cooked. Plus, there used to be so many tasty items in the past. Now, just a few and pretty cookie cutter.
They've added a casino with automated slot machines. It is very noisy and not very romantic.
Doubt we'll be back.

The food is always fixed as requested. Presentation is good. It was a late Valentine's breakfast with my sister. Her Bloody Mary was way too salty and our server took it off the bill. I'd like to see the endless mimosas back on the menu. $7.00 for a small flute is pricey.
The service was good, not great. I noticed they stopped putting the sugar and sugar substitute caddy on the tables. I wish they would bring it back if only when ordering coffee. Having 5 packets of sugar and same amount of creamers for 2 people is a bit off.
Overall, a nice place to have a good meal.
