Ristorante Piccolo Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere was lovely, the food was fresh and delicious! The service was not up to par, our server was rushed and kind of barking at us the whole time! We actually found it entertaining rather than upsetting but it was definitely a little on the weird side! We would go back again because the food was yummy and it is in a great location - we just chalked it up to her having a bad night and we were caught up in the adventure of it all!
I went with a friend after a day of shopping. They were flexible and accommodating, as we had to change the number in the reservation twice. We sat on the balcony upstairs and, altho space was very tight with only 3 two top tables, it was a great place to relax in the warm outdoor air.
Service was great and food was very tasty. The tiramisu was wonderful after the meal with a coffee! There was a violin player who took requests and played That's Amore. We also witnessed the couple behind us get engaged. He managed to squeeze between the tables on one knee. Bravo!
We were in DC for a weekend getaway and found this place looking at reviews on open table, yelp, etc. We were in the mood for Italian, so decided to give it a try. We got one of the balcony seats outside on the patio and had a fantastic experience. The Veal Parmesan and the Tortilini Carbonara were both fantastic. Would highly reccomend.
Everything about the restaurant was fantastic, we had an entire room to ourselves. The staff was attentive but respected the fact we were in a date so they weren't overly attentive either which was really nice. Highly recommend if you are going on a date for the first time.
The service and ambiance were both very good. I had high expectations for the Italian cuisine and found everything to be very subpar and disappointing. The bruschetta was soggy bread with chopped up tomatoes on it, with no flavor and no crunch. The angel hair pasta I ordered had a watery tomato sauce with no flavor. I could not put enough salt on the dish to make it enjoyable. The other guest I was with order the chicken Parmesan and it two had no flavor, and had a soggy breading on it. Everything we ordered was underwhelming, unfortunately.
Brought a super picky business client of Italian descent here for dinner and he, like the result of us, was thoroughly impressed. All our food was delicious and perfectly cooked. The wait staff was highly knowledgeable and very accommodating. And the service was superb. Everything that makes a 5 Star restaurant is here. Bravo!!!
We had an awful experience. Seated upstairs was fine but the waiter was obviously overwhelmed and the restaurant was under staffed for a Monday night. After ordering the waiter came back because he couldn't remember one of the items. That was ok. However, he never brought the two glasses of wine and when the entrees were brought to the table, and we told the server we were sharing he said ok and never came back with plates for us to share and the waiter was no where in sight. Our water glasses were empty, no wine, no serving plates, and no waiter in site for at least 10 min.
So we got up and walked downstairs and what we've never done before, left. The owner/manager was very upset and tried to make it up to us and promised if we came back he would make it up to us.
I definitely appreciate his appeal, but not living in the DC we probably won't take him up on his offer and don't know we would if we did live in the area. I understand that restaurants have off nights and unfortunately this was ours!!!!
I was with a party of 3 and all of us were extremely pleased with our food. I had the mushroom raviolis. The sage leaf and truffle oil drizzled in the porcini mushrooms stuffed raviolis had a delicious earthy flavor. The fresh ravioli pasta was perfect. A friend enjoyed her lobster raviolis, and another favored the chicken and mushroom risotto. We split a perfectly made tiramisu for dessert. Very authentic food.
