This is by far my new favorite restaurant in DC and specifically in the Georgetown area. They treated us royally and the food was the best Italian I have had since NYC.
They made my son’s birthday celebration SO special !! Service was outstanding as was the food !! So elegant and so delightful !

This restaurant is OVERRATED and UNSOPHISTICATED. we were using Open Table description to choose and are highly disappointed. Simple pasta; generic Italian menu; poor wine list.

Staff was very professional and polite. I believe we had 2-3 staff that helped us. Very good wine and large menu. Food was great too!

We were celebrating a special occasion (an anniversary) and the waitress brought us a lovely dessert with a sparkler, which was a surprise! The food was delicious and the wait staff were knowledgeable about the dishes (my husband had a question about the ingredients and our waitress was able to point him in the right direction at once).
Always a pleasure to dine at La Perla

The service and food were very good. We were disappointed in the bread in the basket but otherwise everything else was great.

We went to La Perla last night for our first anniversary dinner and we will most definitely be back! Everything from the service to the food and overall just quiet and relaxing atmosphere made this one of the best restaurants we have ever been too! We got to meet Chef Testa and he even gave us a sparkling piece of cake on the house to celebrate our anniversary! We loved it! The paradelle del presidente was so fresh and we walked out feeling full and happy. Couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our anniversary.

We arrived early but we had our seats already reserved. The place has an old fashion-vintage feeling. Decoration and music felt a bit fainted. Waiters were super attentive and kind, their service is the best. Our soups and pastas were really nice, tasty and good size, the desserts were good too but not so much the coffee, we may have had a cup of tea or capuccino... Is a good place to have a good dinner.

Was disappointed with this place. It was my daughter‘s 18th birthday and I felt like we were inconveniencing the waiter by being there. The food was pretty good so that is a plus but I felt like the service was bad and the waiter was grumpy and it was kind of a bummer that that’s where we spent her birthday. There so many other places to go with a more happening vibe and a more friendly Atmosphere. We eat out a lot and this is the place that I would not return to or recommend.

Good, solid, fresh Italian fare. Good service, although most waiters were of Asian, not Italian heritage. But ours was terrific.

Very traditional Italian restaurant. Some would consider it old fashioned. Good food. Preparations a little fussy, but old school and very well executed. Would recommend for a quiet refined experience.

It was fun to go back after many years...Victor (the owner/chef) still wanders from table to table...I arrived at my reservation time and was greeted by name and immediately seated...impressive!

It took nearly half an hour for someone to come to take our order. At the end, I asked for the check and the waiter gave another table their check and we waited 32 minutes to get ours. The food was great and the ambiance was welcoming but we wasted nearly one hour of our time. For this reason, I won't be coming back.

The meal was very good but the service was very poor. Way too much time from start to finish between courses. This place was one of our favorites. Everyone is entitled to an off day. I hope the off days are few and far in between.

This is a nice old fashioned restaurant. Still greeted by the chef/owner and made to feel special. The food is good Italian food and the Prosciutto is the best in DC. This is a great place to come when you want to actually have conversation with your guests. We love this place!

Three of four of us thought the food was quite good. The 4th person thought it was average bordering on below average. She had the veal and thought it had been frozen and thawed, was not very visually appealing. Friendly service, including the chef bothering just to pass by the table. It was, however, very, very expensive. Even without wine, the meal was just over $400. Table felt a little crowded when food arrived. On the whole, a pleasant evening. One major complaint: the restaurant needs to provide free parking at those prices!!!!

What an outstanding experience.
Almost immediately upon our arrival, the owner/chef came to our table to welcome us. What a class act.
The Italian sausage, pepper, red sauce over pasta was outstanding. One of our party had rack of venison and said it was the best he had ever eaten. Soft shell crab entree was also outstanding.
Desserts were also a hit.
You should really try this restaurant

My wife and I had the opportunity to try La Perla while in town to drop our son off at Georgetown. What a great neighborhood find! The Caesar salad was excellent and both the seafood lasagna and the regular lasagna were fantastic. We love local restaurants so when the owner /chef Vittoria Testa came by the table personally to see how we enjoyed our dinner. It made our night. This is an authentic, unpretentious Italian restaurant with great food, great service, and reasonable prices. We'll be back.

Attentive service and food was fresh with good flavors. However appetizers were expensive and portion sizes for vegetable/pasta side with entree were very small. Good wine list of reasonably priced mostly Italian and American options with a couple of Australian whites and reds. Nice quiet ambience, clean restrooms.

My fiance and I came to La Perla last Saturday evening, August 19, to celebrate our three year anniversary of dating at the suggestion of a coworker. We wanted an authentic Italian dining experience in D.C. and we both agreed that La Perla fit the bill. A refreshing respite from the loud, trendy, and rushed dining experiences elsewhere in D.C., La Perla simply does Italian right. White table cloths, upscale silverware polished to a shine, a diverse but well-balanced menu at a wide price spread, and professional service ensured we had a great experience. We spent just over $100 for a nice anniversary dinner with cocktails, full entrees, desserts, and coffee, but we could have easily also spent $50 on a budget and still enjoyed a full meal. Classic dining settings like La Perla where you can spend two hours talking and enjoying your meal, meet the chef, and relax are a dying breed in the D.C. region; La Perla is worth saving!

We have now been to 2 times, and both have been spectacular. La Perla is in our top 3 of all the resturants in DC , the only reason we havent been there more is our rule of not eating in the same place twice in a yea,r so that we can try out as many of DC's places as possible. And we couldnt wait to repeat this one. Food is authentic, delicious, perfect temperature, nice presentation, chef /owner oversees all aspects and check on the diners personally!! The veal and eggplant was the best you'll ever eat. End your meal with any of the desserts, but "the kiss of Naples" is marvelous!!

After dining there a couple of years ago, I was eager to return. We had a fantastic bottle of chardonnay from Italy and opted for the salmon and beef carpaccio appetizers and two of the daily special entrees, all of which were FANTASTIC! The white chocolate mousse for dessert was the perfect ending of a delicious meal and a wonderful evening.
