Bar Verde – Nordstrom Century City
Bar Verde is located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom at the south end of the Westfield mall along Constellation Blvd just west of Solar Way. We offer a full bar, as well as open patio seating with views of the courtyard.
Bar Verde is the epitome of class and the staff is outstanding. Thank you Karina and Fernando 💕
I ordered the steak salad and it came extremely rare. When I sent it back to have them cook it a little longer they brought back the same plate with cold flat bread. I would think they would at least put some warm flat bread on the plate or serve a fresh plate. A real turn off.
The first few times I went to Bar Verde, the service and food were excellent. The last two times, including the visit on 8/6/19, were not so great. First, the service. Our server could not have been less interested. She greeted us, got our drinks and disappeared. When she came back we ordered our food. She did not come back until she wanted to drop off the bill. She didn't check on the quality of the food, or if we wanted dessert. Now, the food. I substituted chicken for shrimp in a salad. Typically chicken is less expensive than shrimp, so I did not expect a surcharge. Nevertheless, if it is policy to charge a surcharge when substituting protein, the server should let the customer know before the bill arrives. Next complaint has to do with the quality of the food. the Poutine fries were soggy. You see, if you you're going to put gravy on fries, the fries need to be CRISPY so that they can stand up to the gravy. The gravy tasted like that packaged stuff you find at the grocery store. Gross! The salad I ended up paying $2.00 extra for because I wanted chicken instead of shrimp was soggy and over dressed. The chicken was incredibly salty! Overall, pretty lousy experience, which is too bad. Bar Verde used to be so good!
It was good this time, great food, great service, attentive manager.
I like the aqtmospehre- service is excellent
the portions are a little too small- I am not a big eater but the chicken salad had 3 slivers of chicken
Great lunch spot. Fresh tasty menu and very accommodating friendly staff.
The pasta dish was an absolute delight, I think about still and tell everyone I meet. The dessert was a bit average and full of sticky unnecessary bits of sugary oats. The service was professional and gratifying. Would love to visit again, even when there is no promotion like DineLA, and try their drinks and other desserts. My compliments to the chef, Gabriel, and to the staff!
For dinner? I was very surprised at how nice it was for dinner. With a nice wine list, an informed waiter and delicious food. I'll be back!
Horrible, here's why:
1. Ordered medium well burger, received raw ground beef. Manager came, they cooked another one, never took it off from our bill, but gave us free coffee. HORRIBLE!
2. We asked 2 people, hostess and our waitress to check us in via opentable, nothing happened until we got a message from opentable that we missed our reservation. HORRIBLE! Finally after we asked manager, she fixed it.
HORRIBLE PLACE, UNTRAINED PEOPLE, WE WILL CONTACT CORPORATE WITH COMPLAINT.
Consistent, Carlos was great
I love love this place. I'm even thinking of invite 10 of my favorite ladies for my 59th BD lunch. YAY!
Food great but we had to wait a long time, which was unusual.
I thought it was a lovely setting and wonderful place to eat in the mall.
Come 2-3/mo and usually have the same dish. This time was probably a different chef because tasted quite different. Not as flavorful. (Hope it was an anomaly.)
The food is good and the patio is inviting. Unfortunately there is major construction going on right now so sitting outside made it difficult to have a conversation. In the future - when construction is complete- the patio should be very enjoyable.
Great experience all around! Family enjoyed quality food and the service was excellent
2 Birthdays. 2 of us. They charged for the dessert we shared. Ate outside. Unattractive area.
Excellent service, excellent food and excellent cocktails!
A reliable, reasonable place to dine. Really enjoy meeting friends here.
Great place to eat at the mall-good food, good service.
Walkin Customers got seated before us although we had reservations through open table.
The food was good. The service was good at first, but when our server served our food she never came back! We waited about 20 minutes until we finally decided to call the attention of another server to hand us our check.
Bar Verde is amazingly good! One of the best places to eat in Century City. It should receive more recognition than it does. Food is both creative and delicious. Service is first rate. Can't think of enough good things to say about the place.
I just love coming her for lunch and love the food! The best!
I met with friends and enjoyed a leisurely lunch..the restaurant was busy, but we never felt rushed or pressured to leave, which was greatly appreciated. Food was solid quality and creative.
Love the tacos and the Century City location. Definitely a great place to get good food and timely service before a movie or while shopping.
Pleasant, excellent coffee; love the fresh baked bread and tepanade (wish there was a tablespoon more) easy parking
Bar Verde never disappoints. The food and the service are top notch. The menu changes, so there is usually something new to try.
Always nice dining al fresco, especially during a lunch break from work. While the staff is nice, the service was lacking and not busy for a Friday afternoon so hard to understand why so inattentive?
Love the cilantro lime shrimp salad.
Excellent dinner and service; love it here. Their specials are always good and we really like their Tomato Bisque and different salads.
One of my favorite spots to schedule business lunches and dinners. Food is very good, prices are reasonable and it is quiet enough for easy conversation. Nice outdoor seating. Great happy hour menu.
Ambience is somewhat ho-hum, but the food and service are excellent for a department store eatery.
Great Place and food is excellent and so is the staff!
Good service and food. Great spot to catch up with a friend.
The food was delicious. The outside seating area has nice shade. Relatively quiet - could not hear the other diners, but the music was a tad loud (and there is still construction going on at the mall - we could hear the faint sounds of construction in the distance). I would like to go again soon.
Nice location; delicious food; quiet (we were there at dinner time on a Tuesday evening).
We really like this place, but it's a shame the service and food delivery is so inferior. When we dine out, we hate when restaurants "auction off" food, such as "who had the...." All tables have positions and waiters/food runners need to efficiently deliver the plates to each person. We informed the manager the last time we were there with guests that if they interrupted our lunch again with the "who had the" comments that we wouldn't come back; he told us if they did it again, lunch was on him. When arriving for lunch, we told the manager Enrique about our past experiences, and minutes later the food came and was auctioned off. We asked for the manager and Enrique not only refused to pick up the lunch as promised, he then added while at our table, "are you still WORKING on that." We're having a nice lunch, he's working. This from the manager. No wonder the service is so novice and unprofessional. It's a shame that they don't have it together (it comes from the top down) because we'd rather go to many of the other restaurants in the mall where we can enjoy a nice meal without the unprofessional behavior. We told Enrique on the way out that we would not be coming back and he could have cared less. There's a reason Bar Verde is half empty when the other restaurants are impossible to get into. Can anyone say, "who had the restaurant before it closed?"
Absolutely delicious and great if you're shopping at CC and need to eat. Way better than waiting in line for mediocre food in the food court . . . worth every penny and they also have a great burger if you want to keep it simple.
The food and atmosphere here is excellent; the runners need to be trained not to "auction off the food". If they ask us once more, "who gets this?" I think I will scream. There is no excuse for the laziness of the runners. It needs to change
