What Insiders Are Saying
For Italian in Los Angeles, it doesn't get any better than the Arts District's Bestia, This isn't dinner, it's an experience.
Simply Fantastic food and drink. Pricey but well worth it!
Horrible food and horrible service
Roasted Chicken Liver was great. Pasta was salty and kinda disappointing.
We had a table reservation for 10:00 pm, unfortunately, they turn off the music around 11:30 and wants to be out of the restaurant, very disappointed 🙁
Food was fantastic as was the service. Booking a reservation was difficult, but if you call, there is a good chance they can make the time more convenient for you. Very friendly and fun!
This place deserves its 5-star reputation. Make sure you go with the right attitude, i.e., family style dining is the way to go, be prepared to experiment just a little bit, and none of this comes cheaply. But, the food is fantastic and the vibe is very good. I have only sat outside (front or back patio) -- which I highly recommend -- and have never noticed any noise whatsoever. Very easy to hear everyone (a huge plus). I don't have a good feel if the inside acoustics are good. I even had a celebrity-sighting! AOC was in the house!
Excellent food quality - though quite why it has become such an “it” spot in LA, I don’t understand. Still, we had a very pleasant meal.
Service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing.
Amazing experience always!!!
Miserable, rude and just plain hostile hostess that set the tone of the dinner. Rudely clipped off a convo in mid conversation with "is your entire party here" and "you have to wait outside with your drinks" pretty much ruined any expectations we had.
Whilst we weren't the most elegantly dressed denizens of your restaurant, we certainly did spend $900 for 5 hungry chefs. Although we did arrive 30 minutes early, we were treated less than human (what do you expect, we've been in LA for 14 days building a kitchen) and barked at "you can't sit there" when one of us tried to sit on the bar. Seriously, graciousness and tact aren't part of your greeting staff's DNA.
I'd love to recommend you to another, but we unanimously award you the Yet Another Pretentious Los Angeles Restaurant for the way we were treated. We did see that every one of your other perfumed and coiffed customers dealt with courteously and with deference. Should I have worn my little black dress?
Food was underwhelmingly seasoned and unfathomably coursed with long pauses between dishes and at times, we ran out of space to put a fork down.
Drinks were awesome, bartender rocked.
Unbeviably overrated place. Pasta was bang average, and tasted like it was out of the can. For $34 pasta dishes, wouldn’t you think the portion would be a little bigger? I’ve genuinely had better pasta at Olive Garden. The waitress seemed like she was at pains to answer our questions about the menu. Silver lining was that the bartender was nice as we waited for our table and the drinks were great. Will not be returning.
The food was amazing!!! Literally everything came out so good except for the chicken liver pate. I made a reservation like 3 weeks in advance but got seated at the counter bar by the kitchen. I could feel the heat from the kitchen but it was very nice seeing them cook.
Celebration of daughter going to college
As usual, Amazing food and attentive service. The gnocchi and bone marrow is second to none. The suggested wine was exactly what i wanted. The beer selection could be better.
I heard this restaurant was “the best Italian restaurant in LA” so I found a very late reservation at 11PM and went. I immediately got sick after one appetizer, and couldn’t even finish my entree. Portions are small and overpriced. Definitely overhyped.
This was our second visit to Bestia and they proved that they can nail it every time. We’re from Vancouver BC and our first experience was so great that we had to come back the next time we were in town!
I’ve been many times. I wish they would have more non pork options.
Bustling place in a cool part of DTLA with a great atmosphere but maybe a bit too loud at times making it difficult to hold conversation.
The pasta dishes were fantastic and the pizza tasted great and authentic, no room for pudding but I’m sure they were also yummy!
Everything that everyone has said about this place is true! The food was deliciously amazing. The bone marrow is a must! The only thing that was a little disappointing was the pork porterhouse, but then again I don’t like to eat pork too often. Service was okay. Our server didn’t seem like she wanted to serve us anymore after we kept turning down her upsale suggestions. We felt like she was being a little too pushy and aggressive.
Very crowded and super loud.
Portions are tiny.
Absolutely incredible incredible incredible food. Had 8 dishes, all were amazing
You've heard the buzz. You've tried, but failed, to get a reservation because they are hard to get. So the question has to be asked: Is Bestia worth all the praise, the time and money? The answer is simple: absolutely. I had been trying to land my first reservation for weeks and finally settled for an early time on a Wednesday evening. It's summer, so we sat outside (where, by the way, it's much quieter than inside). The restaurant is in an old warehouse in the former industrial Arts District, so you don't go there for the view. But, oh, the food. Everything my wife and I ate - from the Tomato Salad with whipped burrata to the pastas (we had the unbelievably delicious Cavatelli alla Norcina and Pici al Sugo di Agnello) to the downright sinful Bar au Chocolat Bittersweet Chocolate Budino Tart (I think the name says it all) - was great, like when after every bite the world stops for a second and you say to yourself, "Oh my god that's good." They also have an outstanding wine selection (though they ain't cheap!). All in all, Bestia lived up to its hype. And that's rare.
Always the best overall in LA for pasta
Food was amazing, terrific service and delightful ambiance. We enjoyed very much and liked the fact that it was open until midnight. For sure one of the best dinning experiences in LA
Really great space
Awesome New York open kitchen vibe. Roasted bone marrow and chicken liver toast is a must. Calamari was wonderful and refreshing. We loved our cherries and tomatoes salad. The pasta on the other hand was okay. We had the spaghetti rustichella which I would give a 5/10. The agnolotti i would give a 7/10. Tomahawk pork chop was great. The rib eye I would say 6.5/10. I had better 28 days dry aged at other places. But overall experience and service was a 12/10.
Amazing food. Can eat that bone marrow for days.
Sucha cool vibe and absolutely loved the delicious food. Favorites were the cherries & tomatos, trofie amatriciana, and salumi. Can't wait to return
Do not skip the pastas - they are the crown jewel of the menu! Also, the wait staff and the bus boys were incredible. As soon as I took a sip of water someone was coming over to pour some more! Couldn't recommend more!
Honestly everything th
I’m pleased to say, It did actually live up to the hype. Finally made it out and had a delicious wedding anniversary meal.

The BEST restaurant in LA...hands down. The food is incredible and I love the atmosphere.
Amazing food and service as always!
Very hyped and over rated place
