Daniel Boulud menu is driven by the seasons and bounty of Québec local purveyors. The result: refined yet soulful contemporary French food, prepared here by Executive Chef Riccardo Bertolino.
Maison Boulud enjoys a view over the historic hotel garden and year round glass enclosed winter garden. Daniel Boulud welcoming spirit, the casually elegant tone and glimpses of a partly open kitchen keep the focus on the cuisine, making this a daily gathering place for wonderful food.

Beautiful setting, amazing and attentionate service.
A memorable wedding anniversary
The food was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. Impeccable service. The entire experience was very special. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
THE FOOD WAS VERY NICE, AND THE SUGGEST WINE WAS FABULOUS, JUST A LITTLE OVERRATED
THE SINGAPORE MENU WAS VERY INTERESTING, PORK SHOULD BE MORE TASTY AND CHICKEN ALSO, BUT ALL THE REST WAS WONDERFUL.
IT WAS A VERY NICE EVENING ON THE BEAUTIFUL GARDEN
VERY NICE EVENING WITH MY SON, FOR HIS BIRTHDAY.
My main, rib steak medium rare, was overcooked (seasoning and sides were good). Besides that the food, service, and ambiance were great.
waiter brought the check without us asking it felt like they were kicking us out.
Service was bad. Started with the greeter. Totally disinterested. Table service was grudging, inattentive and slow. Food was just ok. I would never go back.
Excellent. Every bite appreciated.
Terrific! Service was outstanding and food was delicious!
After being to Daniel Boulud's restaurant in Miami I was very excited to try this one in Montreal. Overall we had a 4 star experience and would definitely return.
To start we ordered two appetizers; Iberico ham and Summer beets. We really enjoyed the Iberico ham and the summer beets were just okay. It was served with tomatoes, cheese, and pistachio but we felt there wasn't enough cheese and because the pistachio was shaved it didn't add any texture.
We ordered two entrees as well; Scallops with spicy ragout and lamb chops. My scallops were cooked perfectly and with the ragout it tasted delicious although I didn't find that the ragout was spicy. I felt heat in the back of my throat on the first bite and after that I didn't taste heat.
My husband ordered lamb chops and they were seasoned well, but only one of them was cooked perfectly and the other was a little under. done unfortunately.
The sommelier Parhan was excellent. We were having trouble deciding on a wine and he let us taste one to see what we liked. He was able to pick out a dry Riesling for us and because of his help we are more knowledgeable about what kinds of wines we like and what to ask for when we go out.
Our server Aimeleine was friendly. She did give us the wrong change back though as we asked for the equivalent of $40 American and she gave us $40 Canadian.
It was fun to walk around the garden after dinner which is part of the restaurant. Overall we had a four star experience and would go back.
This was a very memorable occasion, especially for the Birthday Girl - my 95-year-old Mother-in-Law!! Thank you also for the tiny birthday cakes you made for her to have during coffee - we really appreciated them!
Service was great! Staff members were gracious and friendly. We had the four course meal, which i would recommend. Dessert was phenomenal! Valet at the Ritz is included as part of the reservation, which was a huge help.
Wow! Everything was great
Horrible service from the start. Slow and inattentive, we had to pour own wine every single time and we had to flag down various waiters every time we wanted to order. On top of that, the food was overpriced and the portions were tiny, even for a Daniel Boulud restaurant. We had 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts (between 2 people), and we had still had to order UberEats after we got back to the hotel. We were also celebrating our anniversary, and the desert plate that came said “Happy Birthday”, they knew this was an error as the server wished us a happy anniversary, they were just too lazy to correct the mistake. Overall, a horrible experience, and it has truly changed my option on the Boulud franchise going forward. (Side note: we live in Toronto and go to Cafe Boulud regularly, and the experience here was night and day). We would like to add, the sommelier was the only redeeming feature, as he recommended a great wine, and was very personable.
Great restaurant! Good food! Fantastic service! Do recommend !
Toujours parfait. Belle terrasse avec canards et fontaine. Plats délicieux tout comme les sorbets: un classique pour le brunch
Great food, impeccable service. Sommelier very helpful. Very expensive but great food and service, nice to be able to have a conversation over dinner!
Overall, an excellent experience. Our waiter was outstanding. Enjoyed the "piglet" ( lamp chops).
Australian truffle with the gnocchi /lobster was delicious.
I regularly eat at Maison Boulud at the Ritz hotel. However, my recent visit was disappointing because of the food and the service. The appetizers were somewhat bland and the main course, pork, was also bland. It seemed that the meat came from a discount supermarket. The pork was almost pink. It was borderline and I thought about sending it back, but I normally eat my meat on the rare side, so I tolerated it especially because my date was hungry.
When eating at Boulud, I expect the wait staff to know who ordered what when servicing, especially when serving a party of two. Also, the staff often spoke to us in English when we spoke to them in French - we are Montrealers and this is our native language. It doesn’t seem hard to remember that “table 2 speaks French”. I understand that there are a lot of Americans, etc. staying at the Ritz, but the wait staff should be paying attention, and it was not that busy that evening - and it is a French restaurant in Montreal after all.
I will definitely return as this is the first time I was not happy with my experience but given what Boulud purports to be, I expect the ingredients and execution to be flawless or near flawless and it was definitely not the case. I suspect that much of the regular staff including in the kitchen might have been on vacation and this may explain, in part, this disappointing experience. To be clear, the staff was nice but some of them did not seem to be very experienced based on our interaction with them.
Service incroyable ! :) merci
The reputation did not live up to the hype. An expensive disappointment. We went on a less crowded Tuesday night, said we wanted to enjoy a cocktail at our table before we ate. That was rushed. And I'm not clear why a dry martini (which is basically a vodka) was upcharged $4. Ridiculous.
We ordered the special Hong Kong-inspired menu, but all the apps came out at once, while we were still having a coctail. So once we ate the soup, all the other dishes were cold. An "extra" dish of cockels was served, but they were sandy and grainy, not worth eating cold, or eating at all. Our entree was good, but the portions were so different from one another that it drew comments. On the positive, desserts were delicious! And the ambiance was tranquil and well appointed.
Totally not worth the money. This place should take some lessons from the NYC restaurant, which is light years better.
Finally, our waiter was remarkably condescending. He kept speaking only to me, when I was a guest of someone else. Very poor.
A big thumbs down.
Warm welcome, and seating as requested with option to change if we found the temperature too hot/cold. Very pleasantly seated in "Glasshouse" with very little noise and no tables adjacent.
The service was, as usual, impeccable, just the right pace and good recommendations. We shared a cocktail - smokey Sidecar was great - as we wanted a bottle of wine and for that were helped by the sommelier who gave a fantastic recommendation: an Etna bianco: Le vigne di Eli. Completely delicious and evolving over the course of the meal. It paired very well with both starters - gnocchi with lobster and a ceviche of red snapper and then with fish. Both the starters were excellent, the ceviche came with an unexpected chunk of octopus which was tender and tasty contrasting textures with the smooth ceviche, delicate pairing with pineapple and avocado, the lobster gnocchi were luxurious and full of flavour. Sea bass with za'atar spices was delicious as was the Ivory Salmon with its sea spinach, a great combination of flavours and textures. we went with seasonal desserts and can recommend both the strawberry with hibiscus, basil and cerdon sorbet and the rhubarb with yoghurt and a jasmine sorbet. Neither were too sweet and both had unusual taste combinations which made a perfect end to the meal. An excellent evening. Glad also to see that the signature white ducks are growing fatter while enjoying their pond and haven't got turned into magret!
THE RITZ GARDEN IS SPECTACULAR. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT BUT EXPENSIVE.
The food is terrible, and I don't know how this restaurant is the best 100 restaurants in Canada.
This was one of the best meals I had in a long time.
As always an amazing experience and sure value.
Creative cuisine, impeccably done with outstanding service.
I had a wonderful time. We were staying at the Ritz, which is where Maison Boulud is located. In addition to a wonderful dinner, we had breakfast there for two days. Unlike most hotel restaurants, I did not feel "captive." Great experience and friendly service (emphasis on the friendly).
The jazz brunch is an incredible experience I would recommend to anyone in Montreal, at least once in their life. Good quality meals and good jazz live band...well what more can someone ask?
Not worth the $'s. Lovely setting, but many diners were dressed more for a day at the beach than for dinner at a fine dining restaurant. The food was good, but over-priced. Service was efficient, but unfriendly. I won't return & wouldn't recommend a visit.
This was the meal highlight of our trip to Montreal. As New Yorkers we are spoiled with a consistent high quality of food. Madison Boulud did not disappoint. We were offered a great table and the service that followed was impeccable. The food was spectacular. Thanks for a great time!
We really enjoyed ourselves Saturday evening. The service was perfect from the moment we dropped off our car with the valet. We were a bit early so we had drinks at the bar (I cannot remember the name of the cocktail but it was so good ... something Japonais ??). My husband's vokda martini was spot on.
The meal was truly extraordinary. Our waiter, Etien (?) was very professional, informative and attentive.
We will be back!
Again one word comes to mind: FAULTLESS. Perfect service, eclectic cuisine and an ambiance that cannot be matched. Cannot wait for our next visit!
We had the tasting menu. Every single course was outstanding. Every service member was outstanding. Friendly, involved and efficient without being obtrusive. Had a wonderful 3 hour experience. Have already, and will continue to recommend highly to others!
Excellent dining experience
Will certainly repeat
Maison Boulud is our "go to" restaurant for special occasions. For our anniversary dinner (the Singapore menu) it did not disappoint. Each dish was excellent, the service was polished and friendly. We will be back!
Wonderful service in a beautiful setting.
I will recommend but for experience only. The best restaurant is Daniel in NYC. No comparison!
