Hakkasan - New York
We had a dinner with clients and ordered one of the tasting menus. Food was excellent and so was the service. Highly recommended.
Nice lunch. Recommend.
Wow! Took restaurant week menu. Been to many locations, NYC at bar only until yesterday. While the server was lovely, wine came very late, dim sum not introduced; all food was cold. Very sloppy.
The hostess on the other hand is a great hire. Guys!!! What are you doing to the brand here?
Someone needs to sweep the side walk and wash the door. Will try again via brand loyalty. Afraid to commit to meal aside from bar.
Wagu beef came out cold
Our dinner for two was lovely. The dinner guests at this restaurant are introduced to the sophisticated ambiance by walking through an entrance corridor lined with marble. We loved the fact that we could sit on a banquette, side by side, which allowed easy conversation. This restaurant has a large seating capacity. The food was elegantly presented and delicious. I especially enjoyed the unusual sea bass dish, which was marinated in honey. It was succulent and perfectly cooked. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive.
We frequently visit this restaurant and it never disappoints. This time we chose the restaurant week menu. The choices were excellent, but the entrees lacked the true Szechuan spice flavor, and tasted rather timid. One of us had the Dim Sum lunch ( not on the rest wk menu) and it was excellent. Highly recommend. They are also known for crafted and sophisticated cocktails, but this time the Strawberry Ginger Bellini was made with some kind of sweet syrup and it was sickly sweet. Usually it is very delicious and refreshing. They need to go back to fresh ingredients! But if you want a decent dim sum in midtown, it will is definitely worth a stop! It is beautiful and the bar is striking.
You can always count on Hakkasan for exceptional food and service.
The decor is modern and impressive. The food is underwhelming. It tasted reasonably good but I can get much better Chinese food in NYC at lower cost. The service could be better.
Mais le menu et le service manque de personnalité! Un ami qui est allé, m’avais fortement conseillé de l’essayer. Mais cela na pas comblé mes attentes. 😕
the right is really dark，as bar，but is not
Exquisite restaurant with unique ambiance and delicious food. Food was flavorful and we'll balanced. I had a app + mainprice fixe menu from restaurant weeks that we really great, followed by sorbet dessert trio.
Check in process and staff was super rude
Spoke to Bae the manager who tried to fix the issue
NYC syndrome: Resturant was relatively empty and they tried to creat artificial demand
place was empty - waited for 2 hours to get food - food was cold
Went here for Restaurant Week for lunch 8/8. Almost walked past it because the address 311 was on several buildings. Like Buddakan, the place is deceptively bigger than it looks from the outside. I think it had at least 4 separate dinning areas. Maybe more. Lovely decor. Clean lines. Beautiful stitched dragon on the booth seats. The only empty area was the bar section. The waiter and busboy were attentive. The food was mildly spicy because of the region it represents. Loved the dim sum because it had a classic and incorporated new ones. Loved the flavor. I loved my vegan dish if tofu. Nice hint if spicy, great seasoning cooked perfectly. The aubergine was soft without being mushy. The chicken was sweet with a lovey sauce. The shrimp perfectly cooked with a spicy kick. Everything served with Jasmine rice and bok choy. Favorite drink was the virgin Hakka. Tangy and sweet. Would go back evethough very pricey.
Ristorante di grande qualità ambiente raffinato. Cortesia squisita del personale
Hakkasan is one of my favorite places, even worked there back in London. Went for a casual lunch during restaurant week and was very pleased with the food quality (always spot on) and quantity (portions were delightfully fulfilling). Ambience is a piece of art, nothing to say about that, noise level was more than acceptable. The only negative aspect was service: too fast at the point that our waitress got our order wrong and brought us vegetarian chicken instead of regular chicken. When we realized the mistake (believe me when I say it tasted just like chicken) we had to get her attention many times before we could check what our plate consisted of. Got a quick reply (too quick, barely rude — by the way, it was tofu) and decided to let it go. in the end, we tried something new even if it was not expected.
Food and service was good. Love the ambiance, but something was definitely off on the day we went. My water glass had a bright pink lipstick stain. We ordered a substitution and when the food finally came the order wasn’t right. We’d still go back and hope it was just a bad day.
Food was average. Liked the dumpling platter Rest were just ok.
Great “girlslunch”. And loved the lunch selection so we could sample different things.
Everything was great
I would recommend the bar. It was quite beautiful. The dining area was a let down after seeing and relaxing in the bar. Food was good not excellent. Noise level in the dining area was too high in spite of the restaurant not being full.
Ambiance was wonderful as you enter the restaurant and as you move through the lounge what happened to the design and lighting in the dining area?
Interesting and appealing flavours of Asian-European(?) fusion. Quick succession of courses or, rather, all at once which doesn't help with appreciating distinction. Servers were eager and nice. We're in New York after all.
Our waiter was the most condescending and rude person I have ever dealt with. It took 15 mins just to get lemon slices, over 35 mins in between courses. When we asked questions he was aggressive and rude.
This was a business meeting and I was utterly embarrassed.
Incredible. Can’t wait to return. Perfect.
great place to take anyone visiting NYC as well as perfect for pre or post theatre. They have removed a most favorite dish from the menu...small portions of Peking duck to share as an appetizer among the group. Hope they will bring it back.
In a word - Fantastic!!
Fabulous from start to finish
Sad for such a nice place, to have so poor quality service. The food was ok, but not amazing or even special. Is a good location for company parties or big groups where you don't need personalized treatment and attention to detail, but just volume and speed. The drinks and the bar were good.
The deterioration of food quality at Hakkasan is sad but noticeable. The crispy chicken tasted like cardboard, with flavors closer to what is served at a fast food restaurant in Hong Kong. How is this possible? Service was inept and with a most peculiar attitude. Not good!
Service was beyond perfect and the food was amazing ❤️
Very nice establishment; staff were attentive and professional. The food was beautifully presented but the quality was not as authentic as I had anticipated (I am Cantonese). It seemed more catered for the American palate. For the rate charged, the food could be more flavorful than what I can find in a very good but much less expensive Chinese restaurant anywhere in the city.
Food was good and the meal started well but totally fell off the cliff when staff never came back to table , after 25 minutes got a second drink order and a $34 glass of wine had cork in it. Dismissed as OK by server but even after insisting on a replacement it had cork floating in it. Again staff were not to be found for the rest of the time.
Overall a great place to go for dinner in the city
Great ambience. Food was good but felt it was overpriced.
Just went to the Hakkasan in London- Mayfair had a great experience there AND here - top notch everything!
As usual in NYC, noise level too high to hear conversations of people seated with me.
Hakkasan level confirmed, but a bit disappointing for Ambience. Not comfortable seating, in a dark corner too near service
If you want quality Chinese food, this place stands out.
