Great experience. We were meeting a friend that we had not seen in many years. They gave us a very nice booth and no one rushed us. The selection of food was good for everyone. The meals were timely and well prepared. Our server lacked some experience but did a good job. There are lots of choices in Reston. We were glad that we picked this restaurant.
My family and I enjoyed our experience at the McCormick and Schmick’s in Reston! It was our first time dining at this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Our food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely make this one of my “go to” places for dining in the future!
Our dining experience was an excellent one. Our server, Kyle, was very attentive and professional. The kitchen was backed up and he informed us accordingly.
The food was good and when it finally arrived, it was well worth the wait.
We love the small semi-private dinning bungalows. We always regret when we choose a different restaurant that has standard dining tables. We always come back to McCormick and Schmick’s.
Server was wonderful. He was respectful and interested in us—in a good way. He asked if we were celebrating an occasion. When we told him it was our anniversary, he helped us to celebrate with a dessert. Very nice. Great server.
Good ambience, good food but a little on the bland side for my taste. Service was great. I found the cocktail on the watery side too. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
What could be better:
A little more bread for a table of 5.
A little bit of zest on the fish (trout).
Cut the sugar in the desert by half! The Smith cake had too much sugar- not necessary.
Great birthday dinner.
Underwhelmed by the Rockfish and Trout dishes.
Enjoyed the Smith Island Cake.
M&s is an old favorite of ours and friday lunch just fit us well. everything was just right except for somewhat obtrusive music which we could have done without, but special kudos to rosie and to eduardo who made sure everything they could do to make lunch fun was done. m&s should reward them when the next bonus decisions are made.
Service was very slow. The food was no better than average and the pricing was definitely premium. Not worth the expense
Took my best friend here for her birthday. Have never been there on a weekend for Brunch. They have a nice brunch menu in addition to their regular lunch menu. My crab cake eggs Benedict were perfect and light and weren't on an English Muffin. The breakfast potatoes were interesting...maybe lightly batter dipped and fried in larger chunks. Not bad, just different. A fresh fruit cup accompanied the meal, all for under 1,000 calories! And $3 brunch cocktails can't be beat!
M&S offers a pretty consistent dining experience nationwide. It's really a solid spot for a business lunch or dinner. Sadly, steak is hit or miss here. Ordered mine medium, but came more like well. Didn't ruin dinner, but was disappointing.
Service from the bar to our table was very slow. Apps were a bit slow also. The restaurant was not busy.
Great service and a great traditional seafood dining experience.
Very disappointing. Meals were poorly prepared and we were trying to take friends out for a special thank you treat. So, friend pretending to like their meals and we did not want to ruin the evening by complaining, but in other circumstances the meal was not acceptable.
Steak order medium rare was served well done, but our guest while commented to us (but it was obivous) did not want to cause a fuss or make the rest of us wait while she returned her meal. Trio of Seafood had lackluster stuffing, over cooked salmon, and tough grilled shrimp.
Also, got charged for a vegetable substitution was not mentioned and seems ridculous.
I expect better from this restaurant chain, especially considering the price.
Don't dine here - Reston Town Center has other good options for better prices.
Great food. Great service. Perfect evening
We were going to be at Reston Town Center and decided on M&S. Food was really good and they have an amazing chocolate cake desert now. Always pretty consistent. We went with a couple of the specials that night.
Big disappointment. Have been going to M&S for many years. This was the worst dining experience ever -- food was lousy and tepid. Restaurant was dark and unattractive (compared to the Tysons restaurant which is now closed). Service was okay.
Will not be back. You need to do a lot of work!
The Happy Hour here is the best ever. So delicious and such a great deal. Thank you.
The waiters were outstanding and brought me a birthday dessert with lit candles.
McCormick and Schmick is our go-to restaurant in Reston Town Center. My husband took advantage of the lobster tail special offered on Sundays and Mondays. He thought the lobster was delicious, which is high praise coming from him. I had one of the salmon Chef's Specialties. It was very tasty as well. The manager stopped by our table to make sure all was well, and then spoke with us again as we left. All in all, it was a lovely evening.
Great food and great service. Alaskan crab legs we awesome.
When I made the reservation online, I noted in the box for special occasions that we were celebrating my husband's birthday but also that we wanted to come for our upcoming anniversary because we held our rehearsal dinner at its partner restaurant that closed, M&S Grill. I figured they might give us a free little dessert or something. But boy, did they go all out!!
We showed up at the restaurant all dressed up for the special occasion, they escort us to a private little room with fancy curtains, and introduce themselves as the manager and waiter from the M&S Grill! The Manager said he remembered our rehearsal dinner! At the top of our menus read, "Happy birthday and 4th anniversary!" and they even brought us champagne! It was so nice and so festive and so lovely. It made the night feel even more special and brought back so many wonderful memories from the wedding weekend. We enjoyed it so much. Also, the food was amazing, the cocktails were great, and the staff added that special touch to everything. We were tempted not to get dessert because we were so satisfied with the dinner, but we splurged on dessert anyway and loved our cheesecake!
Thank you, McCormack & Schmidt's for a wonderful birthday/anniversary dinner!
Ehhh, very mediocre... waiter was an amateur, constantly trying to upsell and pad the check. Annoying, I was going to spend $300+ which was fine but he turned the meal into an infomercial.
There was no water in the mens room, couldn't flush the toilets or wash your hands, not good.
The general manager was a good guy and did his best.
Great experience and food I would recommend to everyone.
We came there during the restaurant week. A few things did not work well:
-- we could not get appetizers for about 30 minutes
-- the salmon was dry (the beef medallions were good)
-- creme brulee was apparently brought from a fridge; the upper crust was pre-made and not baked in on our order
-- they messed up our bill: they put a regular charge for one of the desserts, instead of the special restaurant week price
(After we found the error, they removed the charge for both desserts, though.)
Service was very poor considering this is a "fancy" place. Food was cold and service was slow as well. Not impressed.
Birthday - the birthday dessert was delicious
Thank you M&S
Food was great and service was super! We loved the seafood!
The waiter was awful, too pushy, insistent on upsellung soups, salads and most expensive items. We ordy1 bottle of wine, he recommended 2 bottles- everyone did not drink!
After the order was taken, it took too long for the food to arrive. The Restaurant was not busy!
Will not come back. Our guests were from out of town and I was embarrassed
Excellent seafood, good steaks, outstanding service. But the restaurant's lack of gluten-free breads is a disappointment. Legal Seafoods can do it .. why can't McCormick & Schmicks'? We spoke to the manager about this .. he agreed that this should be an option but says his hands are tied by Landry's policies. Somehow Landry's management needs to be brought into the 21st century.
The staff at the Reston McCormick and Schmick are the most welcoming, professional people I have seen at a restaurant for a long time. We had our 15 month old granddaughter with us and they were so accommodating and pleasant. The waiter brought the baby’s food very quickly so she didn’t have to wait while we had the most delicious lobster bisque. Our entrees were all delicious and the mango sorbet was very refreshing. There was a band playing music and we could enjoy the music while still holding a conversation. I would definitely return for another meal and maybe just for a date night with my husband. If you have a baby don’t be afraid to bring them, they are certainly welcomed here.
We were seated right next to a very large party even though there were other tables open. That made it very difficult to talk and to even hear the waiter. The waiter was very distracted with the big party and no one else stepped in to help so service was slow. The food took 40 minutes and was underdone on both the steak and the salmon.
The kitchen was very slow and disorganized. The first time they send out the wrong order. The 2nd try brought basic entries but one lacked the requested side and other lacked the special ordered garnish. A third try brought one entry back with the garnish. The
requested side never came. The salmon was somewhat dry and overcooked. We guessed that they were short-handed and the supervisor responsible for checking the orders before they were served (if there was such a person) was distracted by other problems.
Then, the bill was slow to come. Of course, it was wrong. We were overcharged for one entre, undercharged for the other.
The maître 'd, Ryan, was very helpful on in straightening out the messes as they happened.
The Black and White draft beer combo of Guinness and Stella Artois was new to me. It was superb. Ryan's kindness and the great beer are the only reasons why we'd ever consider coming back.
It was all just fine until we were ready to pay and our waitress disappeared for a good while, after we gave our credit card. No excuse or apology when she came back either which was odd.
Slow service for both food and drinks. Must have been understaffed. Food was good but temperature was tepid. Must have been waiting awhile before we were served
Overall it is a good restaurant but a bit overpriced. I had the Halibut special that came over ratatouille. The halibut was good but the ratatouille was all onions.
Since the restaurant is not close to home, we came up to use my birthday special from the Landry Select Club before attending a concert my grandson was playing in nearby. This is our second trip to this location - the one we normally go to in McLean apparently closed a few months ago.
We were seated immediately and had our drinks in minutes. We had the Calamari “Fritto Misto” for an appetizer - it was delicately fried and delicious. Not only was the calamari in there, but jalapeño peppers, artichokes and sweet potatoes.
Our meals were also wonderful - I had the bourbon glazed salmon and my wife the Beef Medallions. I would recommend both. The salmon was tender, as were the medallions. The only downside to the beef dish was that it was a little light on the meat portion. The sides - mashed potatoes and spinach were also excellent.
Wonderful food and incredible service.
the best part about mccormick and schmicks are OLGA THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, ELEGANT, PROFESSIONAL WAITRESS ON THE ENTIRE PLANET.......AND KEN THE VERY TALL CHEF W/A BEARD. GREAT PEOPLE - LOVELY, HELPFUL, PROFESSIONAL - AWESOME.
