Bartolo Wine Room is an Italian restaurant and wine bar located on Crown Street, Surry Hills, listing more than 200+ International and Australian wines, a great cocktail list and an exciting Italian food menu. All day dining every Friday-Sunday. Open Thursday dinners, Friday lunches from 12pm, and from 11am on Saturday and Sunday for those long lunches, afternoon drinks and boozy dinners. We have both indoor and outdoor (dog friendly) seating available. Please note that if outdoor seating is booked and bad weather prevails then we may not be able to accommodate your party inside unless there is space available. Bartolo Wine Room's food menu has been designed around the great wines on our list and as such is not a kids friendly space.

    We had an amazing time at Bartolo hosting a friends Hen's party - they were excellent with the dietary requirements and the service was superb. Would really recommend their bottomless lunch - lovely day had by all. Thank you for your hospitality - the Hen and guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

    Love this place, great good, good service and fabulous atmosphere. I did however need to ask to move tables. when I booked, I requested (if possible) a table near the window. Arrived to be seated in a table right next to the toilet and the kitchen. The restaurant was not at all full, and we requested a much better table, right against the window (as requested in my booking) and we moved. Not sure why there is a place for requests, if they are not noted? Otherwise, OUTSTANDING!!! Will definitely be back!

    Had a birthday dinner with 12 people, half of which had special dietary requirements. The team accommodated our requests and during the dinner, remembered where each person was sitting and explained each amended dish prior to serving. Considering I had guests with severe allergies this was very much appreciated Service was also on point during the evening. I've been here twice and each would definitely come back again

    Huge THANK YOU for making my bday memorable ! It was such a wonderful brunch! Great venue, amazing staff , delicious food and wine selection worth every glass! We add on carpaccio which was to die for and Chocolate mousse - the richest! Looking forward to coming back and try other items from menu! Definitely gluten free friendly.

    Food was delicious, service was very good and a great interior design. Also was no problem parking problem on the street. Was quite noisy but not too bad. It is pricey but great place for a special occasion but worth it.

    That was our last visit to Bartolo! Booking a standard (inside) table gave us a choice between a make shift high table so close to the door you’re almost out and a table outside (there was an outside table choice when I was booking, I didn’t take it yet we were seated outside) finally after asking twice to be seated inside since it was so cold, we were given a moved. Inside was super noisy. We paid $200 for lunch for two for a super average experience and food. The menu is odd: no real salad, no potatoes as side, only $7 for one slim slice of focaccia (not a good one though… I have not paid that much for a slice of bread even in much fancier places). We paid $95 for steak which in any restaurant would probably get you a decent sized steak and hopefully good quality meat. Ours was small, well done (we ordered medium) and I would imagine not wagyu! Anyway, the experience left something to be desired, food was below average and I don’t think I would miss the menu. They did have a lunch menu too which we were not aware of and were not offered or explained when ordering. It’s shame as the restaurant is located on a nice corner in surry hills.

    The waiter helped s choose certain options which I wouldn't normally choose, and while I didn't necessarily enjoy them as much as potentially something else, I was pleased to try them as a new experience. Trying new food and tastes is always good.

    We had a great quiet date night. The restaurant wasn't as busy as we expected. Must have picked a quiet night. The service, food and ambience was great. Will definitely come back.

    Everything from the food to the wine to the ambience to the service was fantastic! We hosted a business lunch at Bartolo and were very impressed. It was the first time there for all of us and definitely won't be the last. The entrees were exquisite - we had the garlic prawns, the scallops, the gnocco fritto and the pork cheek. Medium sized dishes were great too - the carpaccio, fish crudo and tomato salad - but the star was definitely the pappardelle (we ordered another plate after devouring the first one). Finished off the meal with incredible orange blossom and almond cannoli and a small glass of mandarincello as recommended by the waitress who was so pleasant! 11/10

    We had a wonderful experience here. Wonderful service from the get-go. We had to make a few changes to our booking and had a few tricky dietary requirements and these were managed expertly with no fuss. Lunch on the day was delicious and the staff were knowledgeable, warm and attentive. We were able to sit at our table for longer after our booking until lunch came to a natural close which was so perfect for a long awaited catch-up with old friends. I can’t thank the staff enough for our lovely lunch and for all they did to look after us and make it a truly special occasion.

    Unfortunately the kitchen struggled with rolling out a new menu on the night. We chose the set menu. Over 60 mins from the entree to main. The young waiter did his best and comp’d our 4 glasses of wine. Food was quite nice when it arrived - however we were a bit over it by then.

    We were so well looked after for our wine lunch. Our large group booking had such a good time we kicked on until 10pm at a nearby venue. Staff were incredible - helpful, attentive and kind; and the food, its never bad here. Always exceptional. Thank you again for such a wonderful time.

    We were placed on a share table in a high traffic area. The room was noisy and the wait staff seemed to forget about us. We had to ask several times to be served and whilst the service and food was quite slow, the staff seemed pleasant. The food was nice though the pasta was overly tough (personal preference). At the end of the meal our bill was discounted due to the delays which was nice of our waiter to do. I would consider dining here again if it was less busy and we were seated in a better space.

    Food and service was great! We love it. But, the tables for 2 are too close to each other, it's almost impossible not to participate in the conversation at the tables next to you lol. But besides that, was lovely.

    The kitchen lost our order which became apparent after 40 mins or so. Our delightful waitress apologised profusely making amends with beautiful focaccia bread whilst we waited, then a complementary cheese board to round off the night. The menu was explained in great detail with plenty of time to ask questions and understand the ingredients. As for the main event, we couldn’t fault anything, every morsel was a taste sensation. The coleslaw is to die for! The wine list was equally impressive and the atmosphere has an intimate European style feel to it. Go, you won’t be disappointed!
