About

This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - Visit Esco Pazzo and you’ll find yourself in a heritage building with rolling views of the beautiful Southern Highlands. The courtyard is where you want to be on sunny days, soaking up the view. The cosy interior has several windows so you get the best of the inside as well. On cold days, Esco Pazzo lights up its glorious fireplace, giving it a toasty, comforting feel. The cuisine features the ever-popular stone-fired pizzas made in the traditional Italian way. And the pasta is handmade, for authenticity and taste. The dishes are inflected with Roman tradition, including garlic prawns, pappardelle duck and a savoury antipasto platter. Highlights include the melt-in-your-mouth beef eye fillet and the whole sole in dripping mustard sauce. Passing through? Make a point of stopping by Esco Pazzo, where the beauty of the surroundings meets wholesome food in this special dining experience.

We've always enjoyed the nice Italian food at Esco Pazzo. Now the food is still good but not quite as good as before. Still worth a visit.

Lovely casual feeling Italian style restaurant conveniently located on the main Street. We visited on a Tuesday for lunch choosing this venue as there is little open in the area on this day. We were warmly greeted and looked after by the Chef/Owner and also Waiter on that day. We all really enjoyed our entrees (garlic prawns) and the mains were nice, but they didn't hit the mark (or expectation now) of the 1st course. We all then finished with desserts which were all really delicious (mix of gelato's, chocolate tart and affogato). The wine list is a nice selection of local wines and were surprised at the beautiful local riesling enjoyed by the table. Overall is nice atmosphere and would go back and try some more casual dishes like the pastas and food fired pizzas...

The new management have improved the ambience in the restaurant via change in decor and table arrangement. Menu has improved in being more creative and authentic than before. Service was excellent.
