Food was gross, ambiance is great
Our hostess and server truly were remarkable and made my anniversary a special night out. Thank you so much for the warm and pleasant hospitality!! We will definitely be returning!!
Food was delicious - especially the miso glazed cod. My only complaint is that it took a long time for a waiter to acknowledge our presence.
It was a good experience overall, I’m giving 4 star for service only because they offered valet parking and they were full by the time we got there, apparently they only have like 4 spots, so is a lot better if you save time and park anywhere else.
Another great place in DTLA. Food was great. Ambience was superb. Love the art except maybe the picture of the boy in underwear by the nice upstairs lounge. I truly think it’s a great place where it’s hanging... it’s blocking the nice view of the restaurant. The service... the waiters were running around so fast and felt we weren’t being attended well. They drop by and go. We had to look around and ask for some things twice. I feel since l it’s a nice restaurant and not a fast food, the service should be more personal meaning it would be great if they take their time to talk about the menu and what they’re serving. We celebrate our two year wedding anniversary and didn’t really get the vibe we thought we get. Nonetheless, I would still recommend it for the experience.
So much fun! Great suprise! Great food. Great decorations. Loved the live music.
The food was not what i expected. It was good but as described I thought it was going to be next level.
Loved the food! Uni Pasta is a must try. The interior design is very unique.
I was with a group and we ordered many different things and shared. Everything was beautifully presented and was delicious. The service was excellent.
First time here and absolutely loved the food. The service was ok. We were seated at a table for two and ordered several dishes, our server tried to for everything on the table even though it wasn’t big enough for all the plates. He was annoyed when I told him several times that there’s no room and walked away with attitude. Other then that, everything was fine
Love the whole artsy ambiance! Food was delicious and service was great also. I would definitely come back.
Ambience was fun. All was going well until 1 entree was served with out the second guests entree. Seems the servers were very occupied and the hostess/ manager came over to address the issue . Well over 1/2 for filet to arrive, by then cod was cold. Unfortunate as we would like to go and take friends there when they are in town.
Having said the above, the filet was not charged for.
Great atmosphere! My new hangout for friendly gatherings and business meetings. The food, drinks, live band, and DJare outstanding!!! A surprise find in LA.
Really cool place with great service and food
Great service. Many people checked on us if we needed anything. Always noticed when we were done with a dish and came over right away.
I would recommend it to a friend for 2 reasons. #1. The singer was terrific. I don't know how often she appears there but they should book her more often. #2 The food was very good. The biggest minus was the service. We ordered 3 appetizers one came twenty minutes later and the other 2 came about twenty minutes after that.
Amazing atmosphere with nice live music . Cute drinks and tasty food
The music was so loud we couldn't hear one another and had to tell so loud across the table. The round tables are so big we can't reach to the other side of the table not hear each other. The sushi is bland, and plain with no sauces no decor, and taste very very bland. It was my first time at the restaurant and we were celebrating a birthday, and we all were very disappointed.
Cool vibe. A little pricey but overall I would definitely recommend and return with a group of friends.
Had a great time.. Food was amazing and the customer service was on point... Can't wait to come back..
I went for dineLA and that menu was excellent! It was a great value and gave you an opportunity to try several items on their menu. Turns out this place has a great cocktails menu as well. I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the food and the amazing decor. It was not too in you face but definitely very unique! I think this is a great place for dates or simply to grab a drink to catch up with friends. We will definitely be back again to enjoy the Otonano Amasa, a vodka cocktail made with matcha, calpico, yuzu, and green tea (simply delicoius) that is served in bird shaped glass!
DineLA menu was great and well worth the value. I will definitely come back again.
...just when I thought it was safe to get in the water...behold the Fish Tank at Mrs. Fish. A sight to behold!!! My dinner guests were IMPRESSED with the atmosphere, cuisine, and service. So Mr. Spielberg when will we see you there?
Mrs Fish has incredible food and ambiance for a wonderful night out.
Came here celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was more than I expected! We had the dine L.A. menu and everything was delicious!! The ambiance, the music, our server (Brian) was all top-notch! Amazing place! I would highly recommend Mrs. Fish for any occasion!
The food, the staff, the atmosphere was all amazing! My friend and I came here for the first time for DineLA. Every dish we had was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I love how the restaurant was decorated. Highly recommend and will come back again!
Will highly recommend and be back
We had the dine la menu and it was four of us so we got to try a little bit of everything it was great.
What a wonderful basement aquarium! Hostess, waitress and bussers all friendly and efficient, excellent overall.
Both my friend and I enjoyed our vodka/passion fruit cocktail. Also enjoyed all the DineLA courses.
Good option for Happy Hour too.
Very small portions for a high price
The interior is gorgeous, very high-end feeling. The menu has a good drink selection and I like the way the food menu is broken up into hot and cold dishes but also large hot and small hot, etc. Makes the menu easy to navigate.
I had the traditional edamame, which was fine (how it should be) and the spicy tuna roll. I know a spicy tuna roll is one of the most common rolls but there was something about this roll, the tuna was so fresh, it was fantastic.
What was really amazing was the Seared Tuna and Crispy Rice. Not going to lie, I dragged a friend there the very next night for more of that. The seared tuna atop the crunchy rice with just a bit of avocado, a tiny jalopeno and I think eel sauce is probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten at a sushi restaurant in my life. I would happily eat that on a daily basis.
The staff are lovely, very attentive.
It’s a nice layout. Perfect for birthdays, date night.
I love the idea of living on the mezzanine, swimming with the fish, and wearing chop sticks in my hair at MRS. FISH!!! It's all too too perfect.
I was there to celebrate my best friend's birthday with 3 of my other gfs. We love the restaurant, the ambient was incredible and the food was delicious. The restaurant manager even brought to us 4 shots to show appreciation of being there. They took great care of us, and since we had dinner there, they let us skip line to go straight to The Perch. We had the most amazing night ever! NY has nothing on LA! ;)
This place made me sick. I had to go to the hospital.
Overall a real good experience the only downfall was our seating was changed to the bar and we were sat in the far corner away from everything. Food was really good but no real input from servers, I’m assuming bc they had a wedding party and would think it’s not generally like this . Just went off what other reviews stated as popular dishes, willing to go again
We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Mrs. Fish with friends from out of town - table for 7. In the group we had sushi lovers, vegetarians and gluten free requests. All requests were accommodated and all guests were pleased with their meals. I recommend this restaurant highly. The ambiance was outstanding!
We discovered this restaurant simply because we wanted something to eat after we went to the Broad Museum (across from the Walt Disney Concert Hall). It happened to be the fourth anniversary of our engagement and I wanted something special but close by. Mrs. Fish was a real gem and was way above our expectations. To begin, the decor is very interesting: basically industrial space that has been decorated with fine art and visual wonders. For example, a giant marine aquarium suspended from the ceiling, unusual wall art punctuated the concrete walls, warn, intimate bars and comfy seating. We came during happy hour (although we didn't know it was happy hour). We shared two of the happy hour apps: roasted chicken hearts (yum!) and chicken meatballs, also very good. The well drinks at happy hour were ok. They have a decent sake among other drinks. Their scotch selection (mostly Japanese) is phenomenal.
To eat, a nice selection range of Japanese delights were offered: a separate Sushi menu, some soups, cold dishes and some larger entrees. If you like fresh fish, this place is sure to have something you'll like. We chose two things to share after the apps. First, the seared tuna over crispy rice. It was excellent. The tuna was seared perfectly and the crispy rice cake underneath was a wonderful complement. Note to those who are sensitive to spicy: a thin slice of small jalapeno pepper was on top and not listed on the menu. Second, we chose a specialty roll to share, the Oyabun: grilled Wagyu beef (tataki) wrapped around Maine lobster. It was a delicious mix of flavors and textures. They had sake on draft and also a half dozen specialty varieties with a range of prices. I chose a wonderful sake for dinner from this list called Sato. It was medium body and very smooth. By the time we finished, the restaurant was filling up. This place was wonderful for our special occasion, or a special date, and even to people watch. Thank you.
Nothing to report additionally. The overall experience was outstanding!
This is now my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. The ambiance is exceptionally beautiful and romantic. And the service is like no other. Top Level Best
