Rosa Mexicano - Los Angeles
Delicious food and drinks! Great service! Definitely will be going back
Love this place.... food and service are always good
The food was great, the drinks were amazing. We just wish we hadn't been sat so far, causing the server to overlook us.
I don't know what's happened to Rosa! I dine here often in NYC and Los Angeles. This dinner disappointed. My very expensive enchiladas were barely warm, and the guacamole was AWEFUL! This used to be a signature for Rosa, but no more. Our server told me that they started using a pre-made paste instead of all fresh ingredients tableside, and boy does it show! The avocados weren't ripe and were not even mashed into the paste. They offered to remake it, but we didn't see the point. So very very disappointed in this experience.
I feel like the servers could be more attentive. The bartender needs to be consistent I don't care how busy it is . My first drink was excellent my second one was horrible my third one or should I say the replacement for the second one was great . I do love the fact that they make guacamole at your table like back in the day and it is very very good. No one complained about the food at all very tasty
Had reservations so was a quick sit down. We went here before our concert at Staples. Guacamole made at table was good but a little heavy is salt. We shared the carne asade plate. It was good but my cousin wanted it medium well and her part was more rare. Drinks were good, not much selection for rum but it was an OK rum that I had. She had a skinny margarita and liked it. Overall it was good food, service was good and fun place to eat.
I usually don’t write reviews but must say I thought the food was not very good for the price we paid. I wish we would have gone to El Chollo. We spent $450 for 7 people for food that only 1/7 people thought was OK. Service was good but was overshadowed by bad food. Double order of guacamole was still small and was not made in front of us. Chips seemed stale too.
Wonderful service, and food was amazing!!! Well come back again.
It was too expensive and it took the food one hour to come out
We had great service and very tasty food! We’d highly recommend the salsa. It had tremendous flavor without the ‘heat’. (Sometimes you just want the ‘flavor’ without the ‘heat’.)
Great place for large, medium and small groups.
Food is extremely overpriced and the service was exceptionally slow. We had to keep asking where our items were and plates brought out plainly with everything on the side opposite of the menu description. We had a reservation and went early and they were happy to accommodate us. Paying the check was challenging.
The drinks were great. The food was pretty good. Our server disappeared for really long periods of time. The bathrooms were unclean and lacked toilet paper in every single stall.
The food and service was very average. The prices are outrageous. NACHOS AND CARNITAS GUACAMOLE AND 1 PELLEGRINO. $80. Ridiculous. Good thing they have a prime location..it was packed probably with first time customers. I wouldn't go back.
Hostess was great. Got us in even though we were late for our reservation. Great food!
Service very slow our server was not engaged with us and it took over 20 minutes for the drinks. Food is not anything special and overpriced. Drinks were good
Great experience overall!
Chips were stale and fried in old grease
Alles in Allem ein super Abend mit leckerem Essen! Insbesondere die frisch am Tisch gemacht Guacamole und auch die Margharitas waren eine Bombe!
Chicken breast dish I had was Inedible.
Not sure if they changed management or something but the quality of the food is not the same as before. Definitely not as good.
Happy hour was great! We sat at the bar before our reservation. Margaritas were fantastic! Was promptly sat at 6pm for our reservation. The service and food was on point. I highly recommend this place. Also, be sure to make a reservation. Lots of people trying to get in all at once.
A place that manages to capture the true essence of contemporary Mexican cuisine. If you're in the area you should try it out.
My favorite place EVER!! I love the food, salsa is amazing and cocktails to die for!!
Conveniently located near Staples Center and the L.A. Convention Center. The food was good and is big enough to hold a decent crowd.
Wonderful first time experience. The waiter Addison was extremely approachable, knowledgeable of the menu selections, attentive, professional, bilingual and patient. Definitely will return and recommend to others.
Once we were at our table we were not acknowledged for about 10-15 minutes. Once our drinks were ordered one had to go back because it was horrible. The salsa tasted as if it were from a bottle! Our waiter took about 20 MINUTES to take our order and when it came to our table the taste was horrible the carnitas plate was horrible - too dry and the tortillas had no flavor whatsoever. Once again our waiter did not notice we needed a second round of drinks! Overall service was horrible and the food bland. Will definitely not come back to this place. That is too bad beachside it’s in a great area and the decor is nice
They seemed to have changed the menu a bit as well as the decor; all good changes.
Food was very good but the service lacked, it wasn't busy at all and it still took a long time to get refills. Waiters were not polite at all.
A good Mexican dining experience - Especially considering we visited during Dinner rush hour on E3 week the staff kept up withaasive demand exceptionally well. Recommendations? The churros are in...credible. Served at the table by the server in a piping hot paper bag, shook with melt in the mouth brown sugar and cinnamon and paired beautifully with chocolate and raspberry dipping sauces on the plate. Crunchy on the outside and melting on the inside... Next level!
First of all your greeter was Rudy not friendly. When I asked a question. Second it was really noisy. The waiter did a good job but as far as the food not so good.
It was great Mexican food the best part was the guacamole!
Had to wait forever for the hostess to seat us and there was only three other tables occupied in the restaurant. Took the waiter a while to come take our order, and we had to ask for absolutely everything. Food was OK but it really wasn’t worth the effort.
The food is delicious however the service was not the greatest. The server lacked any personality.
Everything is better when pared with a pomegranate margarita! Typically, we eat at the Rosa Mexicano on 18th in NYC. We were delighted to find a Rosa in Downtown LA. The food was delicious and the service superb. Just have to be careful with their margaritas because they are so smooth, but, pack a punch.
Excellent Queso! The carne asada was good as well. Friendly, attentive service. I'd definitely go back
Excellent food and cocktails. The service was amazing! - but I think that was largely due to our particular wait staff. Our service person was so efficient, sharp, and witty, I thought he was a screen writer or stand up between gigs. The gentleman that prepared the guacamole table side was most obliging, and, again, very efficient. It was a dinner meant to honor our friend's landing of a new position and it did not disappoint in any way. I don't like coming downtown for dinner - however, I will brave LA Live for Rosa!
The food was mediocre at best. Very disappointing.
Our waiter, David, was outstanding!!!
He knew the menu, was a delight to talk to and knowledgeable about Celiac and eating Gluten Free
Food was cold and delayed
We went there two days before and it was great
Manager took care of the meal
The service & ambience was great but the food was okay. 5 stars to our server, Ara.
