Nour is built on a dream of presenting classic Lebanese flavors in a fresh, exciting way. Who said falafel has to roll to the same old beat, meal after meal? Why does eggplant only get to hang out smashed with tahini? Don’t you think the humble vine leaf deserves to encase a little mystery once in a while? At Nour we use an unrestricted approach to create food that is vibrant and bold, yet familiar and comfortable

Nour Ratings and Reviews
Overall, loved the food and the experience. My daughter has wanted to try Nour for a while so I chose it for her birthday dinner. It's Lebanese food done differently and beautifully. I probably won't return as I felt it was a touch pricey but I'm happy to have had the experience. Just a couple of negatives - firstly, there were a couple of dishes we ordered that came with flat bread. When we got the bill there was a charge on there for 'Extra Bread' even though we never asked for any extra bread. We assumed when they presented the meal with the bread it was because the bread came with it so I was surprised to see a charge on the account. I didn't say anything because when you're paying over $400 for a meal (there were 4 of us and one was a 9 year old who hardly ate) I wasn't going to complain about an extra $3.00. Secondly, my daughter and I ordered an Espresso Martini and a Mocha Martini for dessert. The Mocha was so strong in coffee that my daughter managed 2 sips and couldn't drink it. Again, I probably should have said something (paid $20 for it) but I didn't want to sour the experience.
I really enjoyed my dinner at Nour. Dining on my own, I was placed near the window, with a good view of the lively bar and restaurant, and the very busy waiting staff. I had a variety of wonderful small plates, none of which were that small, so be careful not to over-reach. I had the chargrilled octopus, the wonderful camel sambusak, and the wood fired honey figs, though the couple at the next table recommended the snapper for next time! All accompanied by a really good choice of wine by the glass. I will be back next time I am in Sydney. Need to book if you want peak time, though after 8.30pm people were getting seated without reservations on the Wednesday night that I went.
Our starters and mains were taken away before we had finished.
The venue is lovely but I felt like the staff were a little rude, bordering on pretentious.
The servings were very small, I we needed every bite so I nearly screamed when not only our starters but also mains were cleared before we had finished and while there was clearly food left on most of the dishes.
The food was tasty but over-priced for the small portions.
I’m glad I tried it but wouldn’t go back. I noticed it wasn’t very busy when I was there, which was surprising for a Sunday lunchtime in Dec. I wonder if others have experienced similar disappointment.
Although food was good the prices where just silly. I’m not all that price conscious but a actually felt ripped off which I really haven’t felt before. The small share plates were three single bites which were tiny. We had a lot of veggie based things and each was around $25. For 6 people we need 2 of each small plate so it was $50. It just felt not generous and annoying. With hardly any alcohol, as we had a few teenagers, and not particularly big eaters with many veggie dishes and no dessert the bill was over $100 per person. We don’t have huge appetites but everyone was still hungry after We left and we went down the road for ice cream. Even though the food was good the experience left us with a bad taste. You can charge hefty prices just don’t be so mean.
The staff is very friendly, helpful and polite. The food is super tasty and well presented on the plate and by the waiter.
The wine list offer a great option of cocktails (we had lycee and Nana and they were superb!!), and a selection of wine very interesting and accurate.
The setting, the design and the music make everything more original and exciting, a great place to enjoy some Lebanese food with friends or family!
Thank you Nour we will be back soon!!
Our experience at Nour was incredible. The service was impeccable and we especially loved the greek wine recommended by our waiter. I have already told many friends that this is our next go to restaurant. The ambience is buzzing and the professional energy around the room was impressive. Thank you Nour for your hospitality. We will definitely be back.
