Good food, great service, spectacular view.
Some clientele dress code is slipping and diminishes ambiance. Sloppy shorts, t-shirts, flip flops, ball caps, bathing suits, etc.
Wait staff and food is excellent as always.
Gorgeous setting. Delicious food with beautiful presentations. Received great recommendations from the waiter, and appreciated the special touches - a beautiful dessert to celebrate our anniversary.
Just lovely, so peaceful on the deck, it was the perfect day to be there...catching up with friend, couldn’t have been better
We had lunch and dinner on the same day as well as drinks and apps above the bar area. The views are spectacular! The food and service were really good. Definitely recommend if you are on the Carmel area!
Service was absolutely deplorable. Largely due to, I think no management or poor management on site. A HUGE disappointment. When I complained to the front desk, they told me the food and beverage manager was off site and could not be contacted and then laughed in my face. I am amazed the restaurant turns a profit. Disgusting from a customer service perspective.
A great place for a celebration or romantic dinner!
So much was nice from the food to the service and of course the once in a lifetimes view!
One thing really detracted from the experience. An older man chose to come to dinner in, what appeared to be, his underwear and T- shirt or adult themed matching PJ's set... they have a posted dress code and I have no idea how his ensemble met it? Perhaps his money was green and plentiful enough to somehow compensate???
He literally looked like he had just rolled out of bed with no further thought before coming into the dining room. His hair was greasy and uncombed other than by his fingers upon his head. It made for some very visually disturbing imagery, especially as he sat and arose from his chair. Now he was not one of these old men that couldn't wear something else do to frailty or some understandable medical condition. This was choice and preference alone, from every observable feature. If something like this were to happen again I would certainly cease to be a patron - It was that bad!
The view is stunning, food is good, but value for money is not quite there. The service is friendly but a bit slow.
Beautiful view-good food - good service not too fast not too slow- nice piano music
I made my reservation a week in advance and noted that this was our 30 year anniversary dinner. I requested the best available table with a view. The table we received was the table furthest from a window. It was a small table up against the wine room window. We had a great view of the wine bottles but had to look across the room to see outside. I was very disappointed that this was the table they gave us in view of what I asked for and the occasion that I told them this dinner was for.
We dined here for our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. First off, the view was impeccable! The food was prepared just was we ordered, drinks were made well and the service was great!
We were there for lunch to celebrate my husbands birthday. The young lady that was our server was a delight. We had our friends from Aptos with us. We all placed our orders and had to send three of them back. The Eggs Benedict was so over cooked and the two calamari dishes were like rubber. My halibut was the only edible dish. So the new egg Benedict dish arrives and it is horrible. The eggs were not even cooked. So so disappointed. We have always loved the restaurant. Hope they do better in the future!!
40th anniversary dinner. Exceeded our expectations.
Wonderful experience, the food was very good and the scenery was breathtaking.
Wonderful view and food. Worth it
Food was good, view was great.
Change for the better. We own several timeshares there but with all of the good restaurants in the area we rarely have dinner at the Pacific’s Edge. Decided to celebrate my birthday there, the menu has changed for the good. Different choices, slightly expanded menu, meal well prepared and quite flavorful. Now it is on the radar as one of the places to dine in the area.
The food is always consistently good and staff are always nice. The view is unbeatable.
The view is great and the menu is really interesting... unfortunately, the food combinations make more sense on the menu than the plate. Combine that with inconsistent cooking - my partner had the lobster risotto that had undercooked lobster and overcooked prawns - and it’s a recipe for an evening that looks beautiful but tastes mediocre.
Beautiful setting. Food not quite up to expectations.
We had a fantastic dinner experience and they went out of their way to give my husband a Very happy birthday with a surprise treat for dessert! The staff were outstanding and made sure we never wanted for anything!
The view is spectacular! You cannot beat this place for a true California coastal experience! We can’t be more pleased and will return many more times!
The place needed vacuuming and someone needs to clean the ledges at the window tables, just below the table. Food: good, not great. We went for lunch/brunch. I had an omelette, potatoes overdone. My husband really enjoyed his salad nicoise. Of course the views are fabulous. Bloody Mary was delicious. We loved the dinner we had there many years ago when it was called Pacific's Edge. That was an incredible experience. It's a different place now.
I did not get the table that I requested but we both were still impressed of our view regardless.
Celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. Tim was our waiter. Excellent service, great food and we had window seating with a beautiful view. Next time we are in Carmel, we definitely will go to California Market at Pacific’s Edge for dinner again.
The panoramic view here is one of the best anywhere and worth seeing. It’s so beautiful! The food was good but not great.
Halibut was over cooked and placed on very bitter boiled dandelion greens. Unfortunately, that bitter flavor was also absorbed by the delicate halibut. Not my favorite meal. My husband’s cioppino was good. The “beignets” and bread were delicious!
Our waiter was very helpful. Great valet service.
This was our third time to this restaurant in many years. Sit by the windows if you can.
The best ocean view in Monterey-Carmel area. Food is on expensive side because of view. We had lunch on week day there. Perfect place for celebration of something. There are should be some kind of discount for local people.
Just for the views. Octopus, abalone and halibut all slightly over cooked which is such a shame for wonderful ingredients. Also accidentally charged us for large party surcharge (there were two of us). Views make it worth it though. Valet staff were great too.
Enjoyable birthday celebration. Great corner table with amazing view, excellent service and wonderful food. Worth the splurge.
The restaurant views are incredible and the food/service was top notch. We will definitely eat here again.
Birthday dinner! As always, impeccable service, amazing food and wine, all with an unobstructed view of the ocean. This place gets everything right, every time!
Great overall experience! Awesome food and truly exceptional service. Views also amazing.
It was amazing. Fredrick, our waiter was fantastic.
Perfect spot. Prepare your wallet and take more than one card
It is beautiful here! The food quite good. I've had the same server before-not my favorite.
The food and service are amazing. Wine list is very extensive but very approachable. The view is to die for!!!’
One of my favorite restaurants in Carmel. The food is outstanding and The View cannot possibly be better anywhere!
I’ve been coming to California Marketplace for years because I was married at Highlands Inn. I was disappointed because they moved the restaurant to a different outdoor spot. I MUCH preferred the original. It was warm and cozy. The new spot is surrounded with glass and too modern for me. The food was pricey but yummy and the service was excellent.
Hostess was THE BEST! So authentically welcoming. Thank you.
Gorgeous views and attentive staff
Wait staff was great. Food was not up to expectations. Halibut was over cooked and my plainly grill filet came swimming in the water from the spinach served along side (served in a bowl rather than flat plate). Disappointing for the price paid.
