Harvest Beat is doing its best to change the way people think of vegan food. Most who've never tried it think its as simple as just veggies and equate that to not filling or worthy of a full meal. I promise you this place will change the way you think. Wonderful creations made from plants will not only fill you up they are sublime in their flavors. I recently took my fiance here. He has an allergy called fructose mal-absorption. This means, he's allergic to onions, leeks, shallots, melons and all stone fruits. Because I called ahead, they completely cater to food allergies and he was able to eat a 5 course dinner with no fear for the first time ever. He's sold and we want to come back every time they change their menu.
Amazing experience with the chef making a personal appearance to tell the the diners about the menu. Absolutely would go back for any occasion or none at all. Fantastic!!!
As non vegans we read previous reviews and were excited for a new dining adventure that exposed us to new tastes and textures. They change the menu every three weeks. My dining partner had the wine pairing and I did not. The soup on the first course was good, but the salad we just ok. The second course, based on nice heirloom tomatoes and vegan cheese was very good and the highlight of the meal. The third course was a type of vegan crepe and was way over salted. I am a huge salt fan but this was too much even for me. The wait staff simply dropped off the food and never checked back to see how it was. The last course was a decent dessert that tasted like some decent granola with nice fresh stone fruit on it. Overall the food was decent. The service was average at best. Definitely not attentive and didn’t make you feel taken care of. Since the entire restaurant is on the fixed menu, they just bring your food and drinks in waves. They don’t stop to check in on you or even chat with you. Very impersonal. Overall at over $200 for two diners with one wine pairing (which was very unremarkable) we felt satisfied but wished we went somewhere else, especially considering the cost. Recommended for vegans only.
Absolutely outstanding experience. From the chef description, through the crepes to the tarts, a delight for the senses. Just lovely.
Once again (this was our third time at Harvest Beat) the food was creative and excellent, the wine and non alcohol pairings were excellent, and the service was polite and attentive. Still highly recommended.
I would recommend this to a friend with reservations. It will cost you over $200 for two...let's get that out of the way. The experience overall was congenial and well managed. The prix fixe menu changes every third week. We had the advantage (or maybe not) of dining on the first day of the summer menu. You can order a wine or non-alcoholic pairing with the 5 course meal. This will set you back $30 plus each. The food was served with friendly flare, and, though I was prepared for some exotica, the fare was under-whelming. We started with a soup and salad (very nice...complex) follower by a spin on caprese tomato salad...nice, but pretty much tasted like anything you could make yourself. The main course was a crepe with chanterelle compote dressing...very nice concept, but overdone and burnt on the crepe's bottom. The filling was gummy. I was not impressed. The fruit filled desert was nicely presented, but lack that certain something. All told, I guess I found the overall experience fun on ambiance, but lacking in that special taste experience I was expecting. So, the evening will be expensive. You will need advanced reservations and you *may* have a better experience than I did. I just cannot provide an enthusiastically positive review.
Very underwhelming and unimaginative menu. A lot of words on the menu to describe what could be more accurately listed as:
1st course: Mushroom Bisque
2nd: House salad (bland other than the plums)
3rd: Caprese salad with vegan cheese
4th: Crepe with same vegan cheese (very lazy to use two courses in a row)
5th: Nectarine tart (this was delicious)
The chef and crew clearly have a passion for local ingredients and the story/farmers behind the ingredients, but the execution of this menu was very pedestrian.
The paired wines were all quite nice.
An amazing experience! A vegan dream.
Our experience was great. The food was delicious, the environment was classy yet chill, and I love how the chef shared the story of the food with the guests. Even though he was busy, it was really nice that he opened up the kitchen and welcomed us to ask him any questions.
Keep it up! I look forward to returning :)
The food and drinks were outstanding, but there are many friends that I could not recommend this to because it is not affordable for the average person.
Harvest beat is hands down my favorite restaurant in Seattle. I am vegan yet I have only every dined there with omnivores and they have also loved the experience. The farm to table concept is amazing. The chef also takes care in curating courses that tantalize the senses. They are visually appealing and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic restaurant! Love the concept. The food is fantastic. We are mostly plant based, so a restaurant like this is a total treat. The food was delicious. So many complementing flavors. Loved the talk from the chef in the beginning. It is pricey but I think its worth it. Wish we lived closer to go more often!
We go to Harvest Beat for almost every special occasion and it never ceases to amaze us! The care and creativity put into each dish is astounding. We love going here and will continue to go back. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion, or even to bring your non-vegan friends for a special treat.
Absolutely exquisite food with a wonderful atmosphere.
Harvest Beat provides a unique dining experience without being overly formal. People come in what they are comfortable in, no need to dress up if you don't want to. The service and attention to detail are fabulous and they really create an experience, not just a meal.
Amazing food, amazing attention to detail, would recommend 100%
Absolutely fabulous! It was our anniversary and hubby's birthday. Great place to celebrate that!
The most amazing vegan meal we have ever had! The staff were so friendly and the food was epic
Delicious food in a casual and welcoming environment.
This is my third time here and I’m still amazed with the creativity of the chef when making a new plant based menu every couple of months.
The stuffed mushroom was to die for
I love this place!!! The food is ALWAYS phenomenal! I just love what they're all about and the vibe. They use local farmers which I so love! The wine pairing was a delicious add to the courses as well.
An amazing meal. The Morel Mushroom Entree was one of the best plates of food I have ever eaten! WoW!!!!
This was my third or fourth time visiting Harvest Beat. It is an incredible farm-to-table experience. It is more than simply a restaurant. It is a sublime experience, not to be missed. People often visit Harvest Beat for special occasions. The flavor combinations are carefully chosen, along with their wine or (non-alcoholic) elixir pairings. Our whole table was delighted.
A very special gem for a special occasion. Easily one of the best restaurants in Seattle.
Everything was fantastic! One would never know it was vegan. I will be going again.
The whole evening was amazing!! The staff was extremity welcoming right from the door. Our server was very knowledgeable with the menu. They were able to answer questions about the menu without hesitation and without referring to notes. This is a wonderful experience of sight, taste & sounds. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, not just vegans. Our group had 3 vegans, 1 vegetarian & 2 carnivores... we all enjoyed it throughly!
The food and menu were lovely but not as abundant or generous as the same menus a few days earlier.
Amazing food, super fresh and flavorful. The first four courses were so delicious. The only disappointment was dessert. The rhubarb bundt cake was bland and the chocolate ice cream didn’t pair well with the cake. The hostess and servers could not have been nicer! The chef gave a beautiful welcome speech and explained the menu thoroughly which started off the evening on a magical path. My husband and I were very impressed and we will definitely recommend Harvest Beat to all our foodie friends!
We had an awesome experience from start to finish. The service was great and the food was absolutely outstanding. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. They made it a really special night for our anniversary.
This is the third time that I've eaten here. These people really, really, really care about healthy food and community. Dining here is a very unique experience and highly recommended.
Fantastic vegan food to die for! Plus all locally sourced. The chief is fantastic, knowledgeable and answers questions and tells you about the food. The only slight downer is that the interior of the restaurant is a bit grungy & lacks an inviting vibe. But if you are not a decor snob, the food, staff and wine pairings are fabulous!
LOVE Harvest Beat!! Literally such an amazing experience and the food never disappoints!
If you are looking for a dining event, here is your solution. Great food, service and conversation. Thank you havest team
We had a great time! Very nice staff and food was amazing!
The first 4 courses where amazing. The 5th dessert was not impressed. I personally like a nice sweet dessert. There’s was very bitter and bland. I would defiantly go again but probably hit Molly moons for dessert.
Simply put, this was the best meal I have ever had. The food, drink, service, ambiance, and experience were all tops. And it's vegan. What more could you possibly ask for?
Fantastic! Cozy ambiance, lovely creative meals. Coming from a vegetarian and omnivore, this is definitely a great time. Recommend the wine pairing, though the non-alcoholic elixirs looked great too
My husband was out of town and I decided to treat myself. The food was amazing, wine pairings amazing, the non-alcoholic pairings were seriously tempting and I may try that next time.
We are always looking for good vegan restaurants when we travel. Harvest Beat was fantastic! A little pricey but worth it. The food was fresh and the servers passionate.
One of the two great vegan restaurants in the US. Each dish is its own distint medley of taste and texture and yet each ingedient still retains its own essence. By my lights, the best restaurant in Seattle (and that is high praise) and the best value in Seattle. And the staff makes it feel simultaneously festive and family-style intimate.
