It would have been nice to have been told that there were starters and desserts included in the price. As a result we didn’t have a starter. The dessert was very average but at least we were made aware they were included when we asked for the dessert menu. I would however give them a second chance because the food wasn’t too bad.
Would not recommend until customer service improves. Started with poor online experience, booked a table initially okay, but then couldn't modify the booking later on to increase numbers. On telephoning, couldn't get through, just rang and rang, so my secretary had to walk across to the hotel in person to make the changes, no apology was given on explaining the problem. Once at our meal, the service was a little lacks, we had to ask for menus, then ask about ordering the food, told to go to the bar, no one had explained this when seating us. Whilst I must say however that the food was very good and the atmosphere was good too; the overall experience could have been much better and attention is needed to your customer service and telephone answering system.
I have been a couple of times now the first couple of times were for the normal menu which was lovely and the staff were great on those occasions this time we came for the sunday roast which was ok but the food was rather bland. The beef was a tad undercooked for most people, the gravy was like water and the taste of it app was just plain. The roast potatoes had a funny taste to them and as for the pudding it was advertised as a ultimate sunday but it was just a icecream cone and icecream which also had a funny taste with some sprinkles and sauce not ultimate at all. It would have been nice to have some bowls at lease in case you dont like a cone and the other puddings were not very nice. The starters were the best but they are tiny so u need a good few of them and the rolls were lovely. I would go again just not for a sunday roast
We have eaten here before from the main menu and it's been lovley, However this time we went for the carvery. Only had Gammon and Beef none of which the children eat but wasn't told this until after we had paid and went to plate lunch up for them. Selection of veg poor, Could of cooked better myself. Selection of starters good however desserts poor. Would eat again but wouldn't go for the carvery.
Great place to eat, the food was brilliant and the bar/grill area itself was amazing! Perfect value for money, and the best Mojito I’ve ever had!
Everything spot on and you can eat as much as you like with the carvery...
Only 4 stars for ambience as we were sat next to a lady who complained very loudly the whole time about her “terrible” service which wasn’t village fault at all but staff still dealt with her very well and tried their best to make her happy which seemed an impossible task!
Defo be back ASAP
We had a fantastic meal, a fabulous 3 course Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, would recommend for sure
Nice hotel with good rooms.
However staff appeared quite chaotic at times and trying to deal with too many customers at once .
Menu disappointing as not told that our deal only included a set menu and not full menu which had vegatarian options on it. So only one option available.
Ran out of decaf tea and fruit at breakfast .
Would return for overnight stay but not bother with the food again
Visited for the Sunday carvery. Lunch was ok but the choice was poor and the food was quite bland. The service was shocking, plates left on our table, waiting staff looked disinterested in is as customers and were slow. Very 'sloth like'. Wouldn't hurry back.
Vegetarian request was well catered for. Food was plentiful with good quality. Staff friendly and efficient.
Eaten and stayed here a few times now. Carvery is great especially the starters and kids loved the deserts. Alcohol is expensive at £4:50 a pint and overcharged for one meal at the end but manager corrected the mistake immediately
Thought for the money food was expensive ordered fillet steak for £30 all that came was piece of meat and couple of chips in a pot .Steak was nice but could of had a mushroom tomato or onion rings so meal was boring . 4 of us had meal and bill was £200 expensive in my opinion ,the service was good and the guy who came over to talk to us after was very friendly and took in our feed back .
The food is at best, average! Definitely over priced. Nice venue good atmosphere! Could do with more bar staff when the football is on.
Noisy n plastic feeling... So we won't be back....
Unfortunately ran out of coffee and only one hot pudding available as again ran out.
Thought the £15.95 could have included a hot drink at the price.
We took some friends and their only comment was veg selection was limited.
Went for the Sunday carvery. On the website it says 12-5 pm we booked for 4.30 but we’re asked to come earlier. Turned up at 4pm. Had to wait ages for bread to be bought out for starters. Non existent greens to go with meal as they’d all been eaten by others before us.
Desserts(help yourself) we’r all tidied up away before we’d finished (and before 4.45pm). So , wouldn’t recommend really based on our experience, may have been lovely earlier in the day. Also, if you’re not football lovers it may not be the place for you as huge screens & fans dominate the place. It’s a restaurant within a sports bar.
The restaurant serves good food and is ideal if you are staying at the hotel in respect of the convenience factor. The food was generally good, not outstanding and a bit lacking in flavour but suited our purpose. Price-wise, it's not give-away eg a steak at £30 and several mains at £18 but plenty of pizza choice. On the whole, I would recommend it if you are a hotel guest.
