Masseria dei Vini
Restauranteur Pino Coladonato, Peppe Iuele and Enzo Ruggiero have teamed up again with Interior Designer Libby Langdon, bringing you a modern update version of "Masseria". In the region of Puglia, in South Italy, Masseria were Fortified Farmhouses, and many of them now have been transformed into Restaurants or Hotels.
Executive Chef Pino Coladonato, native of Rutigliano (Bari), has created a menu that blends traditional with modern without overpowering one or the other.
The Menu features typical dishes from Puglia, such as "Crudo", the Italian word for "Raw", made with fish and shellfish, a lot of fresh homemade pastas and Ravioli.
The menu also offers Gourmet Pizza Neapolitan style.
The Restaurant offers an extensive wine by the glass program and a large selection of wine bottles, mainly from Italy, but without ignoring the rest of the world.
We took our nephew from California there for the first time and he loved it as much as we do!
Overpriced. One can get a comparable dish for much less in many good NYC Italian restaurants. The food was good, but not great for the amount of money charged. I wasn’t blown away.
Spectacular! It has a great, sophisticated vibe! The food was delicious as well. My boyfriend had the gnocchi and I had the sea bream. The staff was friendly and very attentive as well. Would definitely revisit!
They never disappoint. The best meal in Manhattan.
My favorite restaurant in NYC. The food is exceptional. The atmosphere is exceptional. I feel like an old friend each time I arrive at this restaurant. The wait staff takes time and attention to my every request.
I brought a friend with me this time and she is now a follower of this wonderful restaurant group! There are two in Manhattan! I had the halibut which was done beautifully with mash potatoes and greens. My friend enjoyed the risotto of the day with shrimp. The wine list recently won an award for outstanding choices 2019. But nothing brings me back more than the dessert of pannacotta! Please visit this GEM! You will not be disappointmented.
Came here for anniversary dinner, the food and wine were amazing ! Highly recommended!
Food is excellent. Some salads are a little pricey, But delicious!
Conveniently located and a great place to have authentic Italian dishes. The pizza is one of the best in New York, it's as delicious as those we had in Italy, even the bread sticks are exceptional good!
It was great! All staff was very kind and we’ve received a complimentary dessert for our special occasion.
I definitely recommend the place!
I do not usually rate restaurants 5 stars, but this was probably the best Italian food I've ever had and the cheesecake was out of this world. Our waiter was also super friendly and on top of serving our table. This restaurant was absolutely amazing - no complaints at all.
Food is orgasmic. Service impeccable. We keep going back. Love it
Food was amazing. Came for restaurant week but just ordered off the regular menu. Fresh pasta was incredible.
Excellent waiter service by John Paul
Rabbit entree is a unique dish that I thoroughly recommend
We go here often, especially when guests are in town . Terrific food, service and fun atmosphere
Definitely a locals place. Solid wine list and great food. Thoroughly recommended !
Food was not tasty at all. I ordered a chicken cutlet with fries for my 3 year old and they charged 31 for it
SO, I asked a friend (who lives part time in NYC and does a food show in LA) before I left CA to NYC for a few recomendations for restaurants and Masseria was on the list. My cousin who has a place just up the street on 66th and Broadway also told me about Masseria, well I knew I had to try it out. Went for lunch (on the second to last day in NYC)with my son and OMG, I wish I had more time in NYC to enjoy the food at Masseria. We opted for the Restaurant week menu and we decided to split two dishes. We ordered the spinach and potato gnocchi and the simply grilled chicken for our entree and my son ordered the soup of broccoli and I the stuffed mozzarella for appetizers. For desert we both ordered the sorbet with fresh fruit. The grilled chicken was amazing, so simple yet so satisfying. Amazing flavor for such a easy prepared dish. The soup was perfectly blended and so rich but not creamy, actually very light in texture. My stuffed mozzarella was prefect, soft cheese and a drizzle of terrific quality olive oil. The gnocchi was melt in your mouth wonderful, along with the sauce was a sinful pleasure of the taste buds. Together the two dished made a perfect couple! The restaurant is beautiful and the service was terrific. Everything was a 5 star experience so of course Masseria is a 5 star dinning location. GO and enjoy, close your eyes and you will think you are dinning in Italy. With my son starting a job in NYC I know I will be back a few times a year and Masseria will be a must visit each time.
We've been here three times for pastas and wines and are shocked it's not on every Best of NYC list on the internet!!!! Masseria dei Vini is a must for anyone who loves homemade pasta, white tablecloths, fast service, fun waiters, and a fine dining experience that doesn't break the bank! P.S. They've got authentic risotto, meaning it's naturally gluten-free, and in most of the menu (including the pastas) gluten can be substituted! Yay!
Wonderful Italian restaurant. Impeccable service, very attentive wait staff, delicious food (we had the branzino special and the sea bream). The ambiance was very pleasant, perfect for a romantic dinner or a nice dinner with family or friends. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to return again.
Excellent food. Quick service. Big menu.
Fantastic gnocci. Very attentive service and special touch for our anniversary
Restaurant week menu was a great advertisement for Masseria dei Vini's food -- absolutely delicious. And the waiting staff was delightful and helpful. We spent a good part of the meal trying to figure out how soon we could go back.
Excellent food and service. Wine selection and deserts topped off our meal
I was very much looking forward to this restaurant. First problem: I chose a medium priced Italian white (I lived in Italy for years and I know their wines pretty well). The waiter was pushing a much more expensive wine. Grazie ma non. We ordered two appetizers and one of them was completely wrong. For the main courses: one of us had pasta which was o.k. but not al dente at all. I had a capriciossa pizza which was soggier than a wet sponge. The diners were very loud, mostly bridge-and-tunnel types, and yes, I am a snob. The loud screeching voices ruined an already-less-than-terrific meal. WHY is this place so popular? I live in the neighborhood, and I would never recommend. A pity.
Asked for a specific table, shown to a dismal corner scrinched next to a waiters station. Noisy. Good food, careless service.
Not good not bad. All in all it was meh!
For me masseria is a neighborhood place. New Yorkers and out of towers . Families and date night
Good for all occasions. Nice bar. Friendly and good service and always a good meal
Best Puglese restaurant outside of Puglua
Quite a diamond in the rough and improving all the time.
The wait staff is very attentive.
We had a dinner with our daughter here on a stormy Monday.
The moment we entered we were greeted as a family and they fed us and took care of us well!
Good choice of wines and veal is great. The ladies had halibut, superb!
Many thanks and we will come again soon.
Very good food.
A little noisy but would definitely go back.
Unfortunately ate dinner here with friends on the night of the blackout. And I get it, the kitchen is closed and there’s not much that can be done. But the wait staff was all sitting outside, didn’t offer us anything, not even a glass of water or some bread while we waited. It was just poor service. Have eaten here before and the food was good but service is not.
Excellent food and service. Tables are not close together like most Manhattan restaurants. A bit pricey though. Great wine selection also.
Ristorante davvero ottimo! Si mangia bene e i piatti sono davvero italiani. Lo consiglio assolutamente!
Incredible from beginning to end
Pasta was amazing and so was the veal special
Service was exceptional
Always a wonderful experience... the very best of Italian Cuisine in New York
Enjoyed a celebratory birthday dinner on a pleasant Sunday evening. We ate dinner at the bar... the service was great, the food is always delicious and wonderful wine choices. Staff is very accommodating and very courteous. Masseria dei Vini never disappoints!
