FIG & OLIVE Chicago
Loved it! Thank you!
Service was terrible and slow. I chose this restaurant because it was my birthday and I wanted my husband and children to have a nice dining experience with me. From the moment we walked in we were not greeted. When we were approached we were asked to wait for a table even though the establishment was very empty. Once our server came to us it took a really long time for him to bring kids menus. I believe he forgot the first two times we asked. The food was not very flavorful.
First visit to Fig & Olive. Prior to coming, checked with the restaurant to see if it offered valet parking. Was told they did but it was up the block from the restaurant. Never did find the valet but was able to get a street spot. Tried a variety of appetizers, six different bruschettas, none of which were actually memorable. Main course was Shrimp Fettucine, which I thought was bland and tasteless. Noodles appeared to be from a box rather than fresh. Extremely noisy, seated in the bar area on crowded banquets. Service staff attentive and tried hard to please but forgot to bring the PInot Grigio I had ordered at the beginning to be served with my entree. Not likely to return
Love this reataurant. Alex, the manager does a great job!
Sent my goddaughter and her date to your restaurant. She loved the ambiance and the food but the service was beyond description - so attentive and just plain nice. We will be back!
Fabulous food and service. We sat near the window in a casual dining area with large, comfortable chairs. The hostess suggested a wonderful Pinot Noir that complemented the chateaubriand.
We were visiting Chicago from out of town. The food was quite good starting with cocktails, the chef selection crotinis, Octopus carpaccio, and the charcuterie board. I enjoyed the wonderfully prepared and tasty lamb chops. My wife had the lobster salad which tasted a bit grassy like a freshly mowed lawn. I’m sure it was packed with micronutrients but just a bit too bitter for our taste. The pot de creme was a nice finish to the meal. The service and ambiance were outstanding.
Terrific service, atmosphere and food. I would wholeheartedly recommend
Amazing!!!! That is all! My Birthday brunch was a success. I will be Back for sure
Food was scarce and not that tasty, service was rather slow, we had to ask for drinks all the time, ambiance and dj great, good crowd.
Amazing food and incredible service!! Our waitress always made sure we were set with anything we needed and was incredibly kind and prompt
We absolutely loved our experience at Fig & Olive's brunch. We had the opportunity to sit on the patio which was a wonderful temperature, especially in the shade. The waitstaff was both professional and fun and helped add to the experience. We had both drinks (bellinis, mimosas, bloody marys) and food and they were all great. I can personally speak very highly of the fig and walnut pancakes which were well done and very filling. I would recommend it for girls days/trips, dates, and other times you want to splurge a little. Looking forward to returning in the future!
Great service. Great food.,
Loved the food! Loved the rose! Really delicate, full of flavor! Perfect!
There was a large private party there that day and they were short on servers but went out of their way to accommodate us.
Gazpacho was refreshing, with tiny tidbits of watermen and sprouts—absolutely delicious. Tasted like Summer!
Food was okay
but the drinks were awesome!
stop by have a drink check the menu out !
not sure what we ate, but we got sick...hard to recommend at this juncture.
Perfect summer day met with a refreshing gazpacho soup and salad; paired with a crisp glass of rosé! Divine!
Everything was perfection! The ambiance enhanced by an amazing DJ playing smooth sounds, created an incredible experience. The hospitality and cuisine were one of the best I’ve ever enjoyed!
Had an anniversary dinner here last Saturday night at 730. Put in the notes and called the day before to confirm that it would say “happy anniversary Jess” on her menu. It didn’t. We also ordered our drinks and appetizers at the same time and our appetizers came out well before we even had a drink in our hands. Lastly, after that our server requested you should order your main course because things are slow in the kitchen, even though we were in no rush. Sure enough we listened and our dinner came out 10 minutes later.
Overall I wouldn’t come back and very disappointed in a lot. I felt like i was being rushed when i spent $280 for a nice dinner. I’d get drinks at the bar but that’s all.
We weren't ordering alot so felt rushed like you were waiting for a more lucrative table. Didn't like that at all
Everything amazing! Two top tables are too close for personal conversations, but minor setback.
Why do you ask if we are celebrating a special occasion and the restaurant doesn’t mention. It was my daughters 18th birthday that night and nothing from fig and olive. Disappointed.
Love this place. The good is always very good and the comfortable bar seating is great for a leisurely meal with great conversation. Service in the bar area is slow.
Excellent service and the food is always exceptionally fresh!
Great atmosphere and different dining experience
Great food and service
Comfortable seating, but felt rushed .
Like the food but not great value.
Made the reservation which offered 1000 open table points. So far, none added to our account.
Lucas your waiter is absolutely fantastic...
Have enjoyed this restaurant for a long time, but now the service is very poor, the food oversalted, over peppered, and the waiters attitude is pathetic. Will not be going back. From the amount of people in the restaurant it looks as if others have the same idea.. Just a few tourists
We enjoyed dinner with family during a recent weekend trip to Chicago. We were at Fig and Olive on a Sunday evening and were nicely surprised with food and value of the meal. Wine selection was good as were mixed cocktail offerings. Staff was attentive. Our dinner selections were a nice mix of entree salads (the lobster salad was great) seafood and chicken. We will always consider Fig and Olive for a nice dinner in the Gold Coast.
Been here many times-love it! Love the fresh focaccia and oil at the beginning of the meal, the truffle eggs are delicious, everything is terrific. This time service was a little slow but that is the first time that was ever an issue.
Worst pasta ever. Used to be a real favorite but very disappointed not likely to return.
We waited for about a half an hour for our table to be ready, despite having a reservation and service was slow. Otherwise, great ambiance and food. All-in-all it was a great dinner and would definitely come back.
Surprisingly very busy - all tables and bar seats were full most of the time we were there. The starters are set up to get several and share which is always fun. I got the strip steak which I'm certain was prime (very tastey), but it was undercooked. I don't usually eat all the steak, so I had enough just eating around the edges and leaving the rare center. My husband had the lamb chops, but it is actually a rack of lamb cut into pieces (think two bites each bone) instead of two good-sized chops - his meat was over cooked, but he said it was very tastely. The entres came with a variety of sides which was great. The chocolate dessert was a grenache that was very good - went well with a good pour of vintage port.
Our waitstaff, Laura, was very attentive even though it was busy.
We will likely go back.
Very trendy and the food was marginal. Peoples reviews rave about the paella but it is not anywhere close to authenic. When we asked our server about the Hamachi Crudo his answer was truthful.. "I wouldnt advise getting it. It's not very fresh'. With these prices everything should be fresh! They say foie gras? NOPE! It's Pate! Crostinis were good.. I ordered the Tangine.. never had it so I was looking forward to this. Unfortunately what I recieved was two tiny pieces of chicken thigh that was a gelatinous flabby shamble. the service was fair, decor was beautiful, though the DJ's theme must have been early 80's. All tbat was needed was a disco ball.
Fantastic service. Food was good but not great. Bland pasta with shrimp. Gazpacho was meh.
Noise level was almost unbearable
Perfect place for something special! Atmosphere relaxing and enchanting! But the waitstaff made it special.
