Nice restaurant and good pizza, staff accommodated our slow decision skills. The only downside is that clothes do smell of food when home :)
2 for 1 pizzas were both very good. Nice beer and friendly service. Would certainly go again
A really good find in and amongst all the usual high street chains (it is part of a smaller group which features different menus according to location). Great for a family with teenagers.
Sunday 6pm service slow...had to keep waving for service....when we sat down we asked if the Tiramasu was available as we had a guest coming that was having ONLY that .....we were told it was available but when we ordered it were told it was still setting and not ready for another hour ! We were offered it on the house later but we had theatre tickets so that was that. Great food otherwise - as usual....just need more staff or staff who are a bit more attentive at the table. There was a great big labrador shaking and licking itsself in the booth area near the kitchen which was a bit off putting..it wasnt a disability dog as far as we could make out. If you dont mind dog hair floating about while you eat then this wont bother you. Love the food here and this was the first below expectations visit at this venue in 12 visits 😊
We’ve been to Chapter several times before and it’s always been great.
Service was very good and the pizza was fine but the Melanzane Parmigiana was really unpleasant compared to previous visits. We’d been raving about how good it was so the lady whose birthday it was had ordered it on our recommendation.
The aubergine tasted hard and quite uncooked. Normally it’s wonderfully fried and full of flavour.
There was a party in the room above and they were extremely loud and stamping their feet.
It’s such a shame as we’ve had such great times previously.
Had a really lovely meal at Chapter, the pizza was absolutely delicious - actually one of the best I have ever had, it was a lovely place to be and the service was great and really attentive. I highly recommend Chapter - just be prepared to smell strongly of cooking when you leave 😂 - totally worth it though for such great food!
5* thank you!
Delicious stone baked pizzas and wonderful staff! Can’t wait to come back
Excellent pizza and pasta in a friendly and unrushed environment. Would definitely go back.
Very friendly reasonably priced restaurant in a central location .
Service was a touch slow and it took nearly an hour to get our pizzas but... it was well worth the wait. Fantastic and delicious.
Loved it. Good pizza, perfect service. Just what I wanted. Thank you
Delicious pizza, fast and efficient service with friendly waiter. A great night!
Very tasty food,
Very good service!
Can't really go wrong!
Lovely evening at Chapter, the food is always wonderful, good selection of drinks but sometimes the service leaves a little to be desired. Having said that, we do always go back because the food is so good but just factor in the fact it’s not always the quickest service.
Sourdough pizza are good and good value. Service was pretty slow.
My husband and I really like this restaurant, as does our little boy. We have been a few times now and haven’t been able to fault it. However, we took my parents for a mid-week evening meal, it was quiet but the service was very slow and we waited around 45 minutes for our pizzas, which were slightly over cooked when they arrived. Little things such as not getting pizza cutters because they had a busy lunch service, and they hadn’t been washed; having to approach waitresses to order drinks and request the bill were things that we haven’t come across on previous visits but for some reason on this occasion were an issue. The drinks we ordered were also out of date, however, management apologised for this, provided us with new drinks and deducted all drinks from the final bill. In spite of the above we would return as their pizza is in fact very nice, they are extremely child friendly and it’s good value for money.
Tasty and fun. The salad, however, was underwhelming, but really, I shouldn't have ordered it at a pizza place.
Great pizza to reasonable prices, with the sourdough being the highlight of every slice. Attentive and friendly staff which are knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings. The menu is on the smaller side though.
Both food and service were excellent, the ambiance was wonderful. Next time we will ask for a table with slightly better lighting.
I thought we'd found a new gem after our first visit on a quiet Sunday, but unfortunately our second experience on a busy-ish Saturday was a real disappointment. And has probably put us off coming back for a little while.
The kitchen and service is still clearing finding its feet during busy periods and the result was a 45min wait for our pizzas. Several apologies were given after we enquired, and understandably these things happen, but a token gesture such as some free nibbles or other form of compensation would have been appreciated to smooth things over.
To add insult to injury, my wife and I were given the table right by the toilet.
I appreciate the restaurant was busy, but I don't think any table in a restaurant should be right by the loos. Ever.
The food is pretty good, and it's a welcome addition to the area, but it's certainly not good enough to make up for a poor experience.
Amazing pizza, friendly service and very good value. Food came in good time.
Book a table to avoid disappointment.
They have an upstairs room which can be booked privately for large groups.
We booked as Chapter was personally recommended for vegan pizzas and there were good reviews online. All six of us found the vegetarian/ vegan pizzas absolutely delicious and filling. They cost £8 - £9 each. The waiter was attentive - we got through several jugs of water that were replaced promptly. The one student in our party got 10% off her part of the bill. It was quiet at 2pm on Monday. There is a deal for students on Mondays after 4pm if eating in - 'buy one pizza, get one free'
Really good sourdough pizza my son (10) gave it 10/10 and the rest of the family liked it too. Great food, good service and sensible pricing. Also good location for cathedral though we had been in Whitstable shopping all day! Only short drive from there too when their restaurants are fully booked. We got in early - I imagine such good pizza also gets well booked up. Plenty of takeaways going out the door too. Definitely will be back.
Management, chefs and other staff were all very accommodating and welcoming given that we showed up just before closing time.
Very nice new restaurant
Accommodated my order by making me a Gluten Free friendly meal (pasta) from scratch.
Really nice service - can't wait to be back for their brunch!
Sister restaurant just opened "Deakin's" around the corner looking forward to trying that soon too.
Tasty pizza, sauce was a little more acidic than I would have liked. Liked that the toppings were not the usual selection.
Chapter is a Nice little place, Not been to Canterbury for a while. As it was a last minute decision, was not sure what I wanted for lunch. The place was very quiet only few tables, I guess it was very hot on that day , tho so all windows/doors were all open it was baking In there. Starter of calamity fritters were fine, simple nothing to rave about. But the pizza was a pure delight I must say. Very enjoyable tiramisu to finish with. I can't really comments much on atmosphere as I said it was quiet Not much interaction service wise. But will probably re-visit.
Great night with friends and a first visit to this eatery was excellent. Pizza's are lovely with excellent bases and the service was top notch. Would def recommend.
