AWESOME! One of the best tasting menus I’ve ever had! The entire staff knew the program! Absolutely solid!
A favorite go-to spot on Queen Anne, have been there three times!! Only "complaint" is that it was a slightly warm evening and the dining room itself got rather warm (we retired outside for after-dinner chat), but that aside it is a delightful place!!
We celebrated our 35th anniversary at Eden Hill. Not only was the food and presentation exceptional, the personalized service was such a pleasant surprise. The awards are well deserved!
Anniversary dinner. Accommodated our window seat request. Server promptly brought up our special evening making it very personalized. Food was amazing. Waldorf salad was excellent. We did a la carte style. Great service. Wife was happy!
Loved the menu and the beautiful space. Would def recommend and would def go again. Thank you.
The decision to eat at Eden Hill was a thoughtfully made one. I wanted to take my good friend to a special place to celebrate her 40th birthday. Eden Hill seemed like the perfect dining option with a tasting menu.... reviews mentioned excellent food and a warm atmosphere. The night of our dinner it was still extremely hot outside and the restaurant did not have air conditioning so it was a bit warm inside, but not unpleasant. However, if I was a hostess and a server for the entire restaurant one might get hot although it’s not a reason for how our evening started.
Upon entering and being seated, the hostess/server was not very friendly. She wasn’t rude but definitely not friendly. Part of working in the hospitality industry is being nice to customers especially if it’s a restaurant of this caliber. So that put me in a bad mood to start and very disappointing. However, I tried to not let my anger show as I didn’t want to spoil my friend’s dinner. At the end of the dinner she had noticed the attitude of the server from the start as well and she was also displeased. Throughout the dinner the server’s disposition did improve and she was even very accommodating when I did not like my drink and she tried so hard to get me one I liked so that was a bit redeeming, but starting off on a bad note just kind of soured my evening. We had the chef’s tasting menu. Many of the dishes were exceptional, but the main entree and the dessert dish right after the main entree was so so. This is not my first tasting menu. I’m from NY and have eaten multiple times at Gramercy Tavern and every dish is exceptional with service that’s just as exceptional.
Overall it was not bad, but definitely some areas for improvement. For the price, I spent $354, I should feel like it should be a 5/5 restaurant, but I just don’t and I waited to write this review so that I could reflect some more and make sure my review was an accurate depiction of the evening.
Don't question it. This place is a home run!
Food is always amazing, staff is friendly and wonderful.
Intimate French restaurant on a quiet neighborhood street in Queen Anne. Food and service was excellent. Restaurant is intimate, but tables are quite close unless you get one of the two in the window. Therefore, private conversations can become public with your neighbors. Ingredients are very fresh, including salad ingredients grown in their own garden. Excellent wine choices and spot and knowledgeable servers. I also like the fact that the chef/owner stopped by to check in on us. We'll be back!
This restaurant is great for small friends gathering, dates, or even occasional personal restaurant crave.
Staffs are friendly, dishes are well thought through.
OUTSTANDING food and waiter service, ambiance and venue were very nice too. And not at all pretentious. We had the chefs 7 course surprise tasting menu with pairing wines. Exceptional!! And Chauncey was superb! Thank you for a great evening
Great spot. Best service ever. Loved the Waldorf salad and rabbit gnocchi. Cocktails are some of the best and the drink menu is wonderfully witty.
We wished we would’ve ordered from the à la cart menu instead of doing the tasting menu. We both felt for the price the food should have been the best food we have had. We both left hungry and a little disappointed for the price that we paid.
This hidden gem at the top of Queen Anne Hill is AMAZING! I have done the tasting meal twice and each dish that comes out in this seven course event is more incredible than the previous dish. They are innovative, artistic, flavorful and the restaurant caters to your likes, dislikes, allergies and food types. My brother was visiting me and claimed, following dinner, that he would fly from Boston just to eat at Eden Hill. He is a big foodie so kudos to the chef! I will be back again with friends and family.
A few flies were in the restaurant the entire dinner time, around 2.5 hours.
Nice intimate space, attentive service, utterly fantastic food
Amazing birthday supper for my wife and the family! Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and the food was superb.
Simply amazing. The food and service is both outstanding. Tasting menu is amazing also blind but they take into account allergies and preferences. A la carte menu is amazing as well. The fact all the chefs get to have an input on the menu is a very cool thing. They’re all very talented, smart and, passionate. 69 out of 10 would recommend.
Gently fried cauliflower simply delightful.
Crabmeat ravioli great presentation; a lot of crabmeat; not necessarily distinctive flavors
Candy bar meat dish (sheep's head was it) interesting, pretty almost too cute; too much deep fat fried
Brisket really nice, flavorful, sweet and not sweet, too much fat on top. By this point, we had eaten too much.
Can't wait for the new shop up the street on our corner!
The food is outstanding, interesting, delicious. This venue is very small, so few tables, a bit cramped, and when we were there, totally full, and ... hot and stuffy. Reservations are a must, as this is one of those very special Seattle places where the food it 5 stars, unique, mouthwatering. The service was top of the line, as well. Consequently, it is rather expensive, but I felt, worth it.
Beautiful space! Came here on a recommendation and was over the moon impressed. Tasting menu was perfect. Thanks for a lovely anniversary.
I thought the food was good. The venison especially was very surprising and delicious. I really liked the ambiance and design of the space, and the wine pairings were fantastic. I was caught off guard by the final check, which was edging on something much higher end in terms of food and experience, like a Canlis. I will go back but will likely do the a la carte menu and a bottle of wine next time. It's always fun to do a tasting menu though!
This was our second time at Eden Hill we came back to celebrate our son s graduation as we had an amazing memory from our first experience. Not only was the tasting menu not impressive with little unique flavors but more importantly I am celiac and I must have gotten some gluten despite mentioning this allergy several times as I have been very ill overnight... We are very disappointed.
Quaint, well-appointed space (cool wallpaper). We sat in one of the front window tables (recommended!) - perfect for occasional people watching, etc. service was excellent, food was Devine and the wine pairings were spot ON! Highly enjoyable evening.
I absolutely loved every dish. The care taken to perfect each dish is obvious.
This was really an outstanding 11 course meal with wine pairings it was probably in the top five meals of my life, Very unique preparation combination blends that made the restaurant experience unique And the servings incredible.
Unique and beautiful plating. My husband loved all the food for the tasting and I loved half. The service was great.
We went with the a la carte menu, this being our first visit to Eden Hill. The cocktails we started with were excellent, particularly the lemon/honey/gin/Sunshine concoction. We ordered the seafood charcuterie and the octopus was sublime. The other standout dish was the seafood lasagna, with crab and scallops--this was really incredible, with the right balance so you could really taste the seafood, and a delicious broth at the base in which to dip your freshly made brioche.
Wine pairings were nice. Food was nice
This was—almost—exactly the sort of food adventure we wanted. The staff was amazing. The ambiance was quaint. And for the most part, the Chef's "surprise" menu was enticing, introducing us to food we'd never have tried on our own. And the wine pairings were great, so kudos to the sommelier. In all these specifics, it was a success. Given that we selected an unknown tasting menu, I can't fault that the meal was like reading the first page of ten different books.
So I guess it comes down to our failure to adequately pay attention, because it's now clear that VERY EXPENSIVE is part of Eden Hill's brand. If you've got the means, then yes: we highly recommend this place for, as first noted, the adventure. You'll love it! But if you're a person of average middle-class means, we'd probably steer you clear. Or, at least offer you this fair warning.
As always, we had a wonderful experience at Eden Hill again. We were Heading to the opera and had a set time we needed to leave, our waiter made sure all the great food and drinks made it out on schedule.
Wonderful tasting menu! Even loved things I wouldn’t normally order like sweet breads and octopus!
Outstanding. As a vegetarian, I've never done a chef's tasting - many restaurants with chef's tastings don't accommodate this. The staff were super, super friendly and casual in the nicest way - personable, and the food was out of this world good. So happy!
Great atmosphere. They services was wonderful, they were friendly and personal. I was a little underwhelmed with the food and wine pairing.
I haven't personally eaten out at places this nice more than a couple of times. But it's the best food I've had up to date, and we left feeling satisfied, cheered, and inspired. Shout out to Chauncy, our super cute and amazing waitor.
incredible experience from an amazing team, we will definitely return.
This is a fantastic place for foodies. I have always loved every single dish. The food is inventive and also very simple at times. They do have regular items that are always on the menu like the candy pig head or the lick the bowl (foie gras cake batter) dessert. It is a very cozy restaurant where you can dress up or go casual while having a fantastic meal!
We ordered five dishes and each one was wonderful. Cocktails were also delicious. Did not care for the window seats where one of the two seats would always have their back to the restaurant (a little claustrophobic even facing a window). Timing of second drink arrival was spot on. Wish they had given us new plates between the third and fourth courses rather than between the fourth and fifth.
Eden Hill is our go-to when you want farm to table freshness, and we absolutely loved it last night. The ambience is always unpretentious and intimate, and the food is fresh, inspired and delicate. We had the chef's tasting menu, and every dish was balanced and creative. Truly great.
This cozy spot on the top of Queen Anne is a real neighborhood gem, from creative and inspiring food to the attentive service and atmosphere! I will return to sit in the window table and watch the world go by....
