Doc B's Restaurant + Bar - Dallas
One of my favorite places in the city to grab a bite for a business meeting or a solid dinner. Work great for both. The highlight for me is the WOK OUT bowl. It's always consistent and yummy. Veggies cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.
Great place for after-work happy hour and light bites. A neighborhood gem!
The chicken wings were AMAZING! Loved the kale slaw, our server was great! Loved it all!
My recommendation has a caveat. Your food has been very good the two previous times we have been to the restaurant as has the service. Perhaps our visit on a Friday evening was atypical. If that's the case, we might return on a Friday. The servers who meant well were overrun with work and too many customers. A second difficult issue that evening was a customer whose laugh mimicked a howling hyena....which went on continually the entire time we were there. The noise issue in most restaurants these days is a primary reason we don't eat out much. We couldn't have a conversation that Friday evening without screaming. Unpleasant.
My salad was good, the service was good. My only concern was that my sweet potato fries were soggy. Next time I will ask for them to be more on the crispy side.
Our waitress disappeared in the middle of our meal and we had no idea if we had a waitress anymore because we kept asking other waiters where our waitress was, but she never showed up. A waiter comes over to our table and we ask “what happened to our waitress, is she ok?” And the waiter said that she fell down the stairs. Meanwhile we talk to the manager and our waitress did NOT fall down the stairs, she was just on break. And the guy that told us that WAS HER BOYFRIEND! SO BIZARRE. Will never go back. It was the strangest thing being lied to like that. He even made up this elaborate story about her falling down the stairs in the back of the restaurant.
The drinks came to my table way too late.
You bring the drinks first and then the apps not the other way around.
My drinks were watered down/ it was like drinking water.
Not good Doc Bs!
Our server was wonderful and the food was great. The ambiance isn't the best, but we really enjoyed our brunch.
Very nice place. Menu was the best I've seen in years. Not the same old stuff you see every place in Dallas. Very impressed. Not expensive. Fair pricing. All proteins were cooked exactly to order.
A crowd favorite, little on the pricey side but the food is top notch quality.
Do yourself a favor and make a meal out of the wings and guacamole. Incredibly delicious!
I've dined at Doc B's two times now. The first time I got the brussel sprout salad and thought it was way too salty. No biggie. I thought, "I just ordered the wrong thing" and decided to return a few months later to try something else on the menu.
The second time I ordered a veggie plate that was average at best - the artichoke was burned and dry, the dipping sauce was bland, the quinoa medley was too chilled and lacked flavor, and the brussel sprouts had sugary crystals on them that I thought took away from their natural savory goodness. To be fair, the small portion of kale salad was excellent and I enjoyed that. But overall, disappointed. Strike 1.
The waitress asked me how everything tasted and I was honest about the quinoa medley. That's when I learned she really wasn't asking because she cared but more as a compliance gesture. No effort to dialogue about it or offer to substitute it for something else to ensure I was satisfied. Strike 2.
When I left, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to come back again but left it a little bit open. That is, until I was dinged with a surprise $10 charge in the parking garage. Putting the car in reverse, asking the two cars behind me to do the same, and going back to park on the 5th floor and then back to the restaurant to discuss this was not an option. Either my waitress unsuccessfully validated my parking pass or I was given incorrect information on the phone when I called Doc B's to ask how parking worked. Either way, Strike 3.
For the price, caring service, the taste, and overall experience, there are simply better options in Dallas IMHO. Choose wisely :)
We really enjoyed our Saturday lunch - candied bacon, shrimp salad & wok bowl were standouts - the cocktails were tasty too! While the service was attentive, the delivery of drinks & food seemed to take a little longer than expected - that being said, everything was delivered as ordered and temperature was good - will definitely go back -
The knife and fork salad was amazing! Hit the spot! What a great salad, every part of it was fresh and delicious.
College friends having brunch
Excellent experience! Our first time at Doc B's. Our server Kylie knew the menu and made great recommendations. We had the meatball appetizer, Hot chicken, brussel sprouts, and salad. All were excellent. We will be back.
Food was exceptional as always. William waiter on us and was fantastic.
The music was like being at a club, not a nice restaurant.
I love this place. It has a very happy atmosphere due to huge windows and yellow umbrellas on the patios. The food is so well done with very fresh ingredients that they don’t skimp on. The Knife and Fork Cobb is my go to with the garlic dressing instead of vinaigrette. All of their salad dressings are amazing. The only drawback is parking. $5 plus tip for valet. If parking were free I would eat there 4 days a week. With $9 for parking, I only go every other week. I hate to pay for parking. The staff is super nice and very accommodating. Overall, a totally solid restaurant!
Really enjoy this place - seems bartender was new because we had to send our drinks back twice. Other visits were great - will still choose Doc Bs as a go to for tasty American fare and great atmosphere. Love the candy bacon!
Good food and service, nothing to make the occasion feel special though.
Food and experience here was absolutely amazing. My wife isn’t one to typically try something new, and is kind of picky, but was blown away. We will be back!
Food was great. Server switched my husbands and my salads. We didn’t realize it until it was too late (we’d already dressed them).
They brought out our entrees 30 seconds after serving our salads. I got the Wok bowl without a starch (rice or quinoa). They should have cut the amount of Thai sauce they pit on it in half since there was no starch. My veggies and chicken were drowning in sauce. The good news is we brought a couple who’d never been there before and they loved it.
We took our two teenage children with us to dinner at Doc B's and had a great time! The restaurant was very lively on a weekday evening, good mix of people, very attentive waitstaff and some really enjoyable dishes.
The restaurant was immaculate, the dishes were all tasty (southern fried chicken sandwich, BBQ ribs, chimichurri chicken wings), but just a bit heavy. We probably ordered too much so be careful--it all tastes soo good!
The happy hour is very good value, will definitely return to enjoy.
But this time I was with my supervisor for a meal. The server was very pleasant and we asked for only one exception: no pickles on a particular sandwich. My supervisor has a complete aversion to pickles. The sandwich came with the pickles and my supervisor decided to ditch the sandwich bread because the pickle juice had gotten into the bread. She asked if the sweet potato fries were crispy, was assured they were, and they were definitely not. My supervisor's meal wasn't good, and this made the meal awkward.
We both enjoyed sharing a slice of the cinnamon toast crunch cheesecake, the only dish that lived up to expectations.
My wok bowl had the Sesame teriyaki sauce on it, but the sauce had separated, so in the last half of my bowl, it was all sesame oil. It made the meal overly greasy. The flavors in the top half of the bowl were good, just wish the sauce hadn't separated. The ice tea was incredibly weak, almost the color of ginger ale.
Very good food, well prepared. Attentive, friendly service. Nice airy, open room and open kitchen. The happy hour prices are great deals. For both the good and drink. A real gem.
Doc B’s is great for comfortable dining. Not too fancy so my husband and I will eat here regularly since it’s walking distance from home for us. My girl friend and I ate here a couple days ago before walking to American Airlines Center for a concert. We shared the Killer Shrimp appetizer and The Plate (veggie plate with grilled artichoke, kale slaw, quinoa, street corn and brussel sprouts). The plates came split which we really appreciated. Perfect combo for a light meal. We were seated on time, received attentive service and were done within an hour to make it to the concert on time.
My first time there. I will eat there again. Really enjoyed the food, ambience and the service. THanks!
I cannot speak for everyone, but every time we wine and dine here, we have only ever had good experiences. This is probably our 6th time and each time we discover new eats and good drinks. Huge fan of old fashions and they are always spot on, with Makers of course. This last visit our waitress was a hoot, but still was not one of those overbearing people. When water or tea was needed we were taken care of without having to ask. In regards to food, there is something for everyone. Just ask the server and they can see if the kitchen can accommodate. If anything the manager Brian is always available checking in, if there is something needed he’s your guy. We highly recommend this place for any occasion.
Have enjoyed restaurant in the past. Had a reservation they wanted us to sit at a high bar table. this is the 2nd time it has happened. A reservation should be at a table. Took us 30 minutes and 3 different people to get out drinks. Bar is extremely slow. Not the first time we have experienced this. Food is wonderful. Had to ask for our table to be wiped down. Food came out wrong hostess jumped in to try to help. When we arrived and finally got a table we mentioned being by the door was warm and they said the air conditioner was out and did not get it fixed. We should have been told that right when we walked in. A very disappointing evening. Friends said they will never go back. To bad as atmosphere and food are great.
Start with candied bacon and it just gets better.
Bartender Anthony did a great job and the food was delicious. Have been to other Doc B’s and always good.
Our server was Madison - she was great. Wonderful recommendations. The grilled artichoke was so good. A little loud, but the place was packed. Even with it so busy, the service and food were amazing. Definitely recommend.
Great food. Good service. Nice atmosphere xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Great ambiance and space with lots of sun. The staff is polite and quite attractive as well.
Food portions were good sized and tasted very good. The salads and sandwiches are amazing as is the pork chop.
Wine list was not the best as they really did not have a true dry white wine. Most were quite sweet.
The food at this restaurant is outstanding. However even better than the food is the wonderful service. I have eaten at this restaurant three times, and each time the service has been impeccable. I would highly recommend eating at this restaurant. I can't wait to get back to Dallas so that I can go to it again.
The started was fantastic, so delicious and will definitely try it again
We took dad to brunch and as always it was delicious! Rose from tap was unique and refreshing! The killer shrimp was out of this world with the combo fresh fruit and veggie mix drizzled with balsamic vinegar...YUM!
It’s a cute place and everyone was friendly and dad got a gigantic piece of chocolate cake to share!
Thank you so much!
Great service and good food.
Went for Father’s Day and has a great time. Good food, big portions. Loved it!
