Restaurant Le Continental
In the gourmet world of Le Continental, traditional cuisine is classical. Enjoy the perfect service, the great flambéed dishes that pay tribute to the delicious French cuisine. The Continental's wine cellar is most impressive with its board of famous selection of French, Italian and American wines. It offers a choice of more than five thousand bottles, four hundred different varieties from Grands Crus classés to affordable prices.
It was an overall great experience!! We were pleasantly surprised when they starting cooking the filet in front of us. The food was amazing and such a cute place! A little pricey though.
Amazing service! 5 star staff. Attention to detail was beyond compare.
Spent Valentine’s Day at Le Continental. The food was outstanding! Exactly what we were looking for when it came to traditional French cuisine!
Everything was just awesome including the wait staff , the overall Ambiance of the place not to mention the food
The BEST Caesar salad EVER!! With everything prepared tableside you know the ingredients and control the preparation. This was truly a dining experience rather than just a meal. It was perfect!!
An exquisite old-style French restaurant, service is superb, the table side preparation of caesar salad and flambe steaks is second to none.
Restaurant Le Continental is fine dining at its best. From the coat check, host (maître d'), lead waiter, and team of assistant waiters, everything was choreographed extremely well. The tableside flambé meals and deserts were a magical sensory experience to remember well into the future.
Ambience, food and service were wonderful. Pierre was our server and table side chef - he was very personable and made the evening so enjoyable! He cooked our steaks to perfection and made our dining experience perfect.
We had a great dinner with amazing service and perfectly sized portions.
This is a beautiful old restaurant in Old Quebec, with all the protocol respected and all the traditions in play. A pretty good wine list. Mains are good. Trimmings oddly cafeteria-quality. And the same piano piece played again and again. Take another look at the details, You folks.
We had a truly delightful lunch: Caesar salad to share, pasta for my wife, and tenderloin medallions for me. The salad was hands down the best Caesar I've ever had (and that goes back 40 years). Hand prepared at the table, everything from scratch, and you could taste every ingredient in every bite. Worth every penny. The mains were delicious with good but not excessive portions. All accompanied by a crisp Riesling.
The restaurant really stands out for its service. Attentive, but not intrusive. My favorite moment came as our mains emerged from the kitchen: The waiter noticed my wife had stepped away from the table and without even stopping pivoted to take the plates back to the kitchen to stay warm. As soon as she returned, the signal was passed and our food came back out.
Le Continental is pricy, but if you have budgeted for one truly great meal, you won't be disappointed.
Fantastic service quality food but the restaurant makes you feel like you fish back to the early 50s. We loved it. Old formal restaurant. Rate to find.
Amazing food!! We started with cocktails & the escargot, then had the duck special for two which was incredible & cooked to perfection. For desert we had the tiramisu & crème brûlée, which our waiter recommended after we asked for suggestions & they were spot on! Impeccable service. We went to celebrate our engagement!
Delicious, fine preparations of food. All dishes masterfully done. Beautiful spot and great service.
The greatest fine dining experience and personal chef at our table in a style and ambience that returned us to the best restaurants of the 50’s and 60’s. Simply the best. What a great time. We were special to them and they to us. Wonderful.
Fantastic. The service and food were absolutely wonderful. Would happily return every time we are in Quebec City.
Amazing service with dinner prepared table side!
Beautiful old house in Old Quebec. I’d recommend to stick to the house specialties and flambées.
Cherries jubilees were lovely. The ceasar salad is a must.
This was our second time at Le Continental and it was just as amazing as the first. Food is delicious. They were more than willing to accommodate my gluten allergy. The service was outstanding. We will be back the next time we are in town.
I am merely the most recent in a long line of reviewers who describe the utter excellence of Le Continental. Our family of five was enraptured by a delicious and festive Christmas dinner, including several dishes prepared en flambé table-side. Le Continental is a superb example of what a fine dining experience looks like and tastes like. All staff work together in a seamless production to provide an efficient but not rushed experience. A special mention for the duck, tenderloin, Dover sole, and escargots. But it’s all wonderful. C’est magnifique!
Christmas dinner. Excellent food and service. Wonderful restaurant. Will definitely return when back in Quebec.
It was wonderful spending dinner there with my husband.
Love the flambé !! The best so far ! The experience is amazing. The host are funny and very informative as they explain while making the flambé. Love the presentation and the fire!!! If your not getting the steak or fish flambé dont bother to go here ! - thats the highlight of their menu. Would go back for a special occasion for sure. :) a bit pricey for the others on the menu but the flambé is way worth every cent you pay.
This was our first time at Le Continental. The flavor of the food was delicious. The cozy dining experience made for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon. The waiter prepared our shrimp dish right at the table at his own cart. How cool is that! We also ordered a slice of the traditional Christmas log (mocha flavor) for dessert. It was out of this world scrumptious! It melted in our mouths like butter. We would eat here again in a heartbeat.
very good, I like the foie gras and steak, the service is also perfect.
Superb service and food. Very French service
Absolutely would recommend
If you're looking for traditional French cuisine, with the accompanied tableside service, this is the spot!
Très agréable bon service chaleureux và revenir c’est certain
Strongly recommend the dishes that we ordered. Great service.
Service was amazing food was very good but I had better steak at the “1640 restaurant” a couple blocks away. The restaurant was defiantly worth the visit!
I suppose, for an established steak house, there was nothing WRONG with it overall. ... But... the bread basket was sliced cold baguette and croutons, the onion soup was absolutely flavorless, and the veal chop severely undercooked. The service was great, but perhaps because about six different servers (all male) came to do just one specific thing they specialized in and then we'd never see them again. Of course, the tag that came with all this was super-sized! I'm sorry to say there are other places with better experiences and food, and that's where you'll find us.
This was a truly fine dining experience. The food and service are both excellent. I can't wait to return on my next trip to Quebec.
It is an elegant restaurant. Food tasted good and service is perfect. Very close to the Fairmont. Recommend shrimp of lunch special.
Delightful table side flambé experience.
We hope to return some day for a flambé dessert.
What a phenomenal dining experience. Don’t miss the opportunity to have on or more of the courses prepared at your table. They’re filet mignon was one of the best, if not the best, steaks I’ve ever had.
This was an excellent spot for a romantic dinner for two. Our waiter, Sebastion was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. He prepared a caesar salad and filet mignon tableside for us, and also helped us select a great bottle of bordeaux to go with our meal. A very entertaining and delicious meal.
Loved it! House specialty steak and caeser salad were wonderful!
Everything was terrific unless you want a single malt to end the evening. Quebec City is notorious for its "pours." The $25. pour barely coveted the bottom of the glass and that's no exaggeration.
