Restaurant at The Hotel Tides
The whimsical, intricately detailed tin ceiling and walls - dating back to the 1920's - demanded a ten month renovation, showcasing the cultural heritage and history in modern day Asbury Park.
melange braised with orzo mac and cheese

with poblano and manchego creamed spinach and roasted potatoes
The service was excellent and efficient without being stuffy. The wine and alcohol selections are good, but not a large selection if you are choosy. The food variety offered something for everyone and was very tasty. My only suggestion is that they serve the food a bit hotter; it wasn't cold or undercooked by any means, but if you are the kind of person who likes his food hot you would be sending it back.
The food was phenomenal. Our waiter was excellent.
Highly recommend Hotel Tides. One of the best dining options in Asbury Park. Ryan and his staff provided the best service and the food was flavorful, unique, and of excellent quality. We will certainly be back!
Always a great meal! Carl is always great waiter! The 7th Avenue cosmo goes down so smooth.
Service was excellent. Owner went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes. Highly recommend Tides.
Loved the ambiance, artwork, cuisine and staff. Will definitely return.
Great anniversary dinner.
Such a wonderful experience! Excellent service, fantastic food and a quiet dining room. Detail in every aspect. Can't wait to return.
Excellent food and service coupled with a lovely, warm setting, quiet atmosphere, spacious tables and leisurely pace made for a perfect first visit for my guests. I was there for a private event 10 years ago and always wanted to go back. I won’t wait another decade to return. Go!!
Love the place. The food is always good as well as the service. The atmosphere is wonderful as well. Have been going for many years and it never dissappoints.
My ultimate favorite spot in AP STILL! After all these years and many different hot spots in town!
My favorite restaurant in Asbury Park. What a gem! Great food and fabulous cocktails. Perfect for a special night out.
We LOVE the Restaurant at the Tides!
EVERYTHING on the menu is an excellent choice; you can’t go wrong (we’ve been here so many times and ordered everything on the menu).
The food quality has definitely gone down in the several times we’ve eaten there. Service has always been good but you can’t eat service. Fish was served lukewarm to cold and mussels lacked flavor. Accompaniments to my scallops needed salt which should not be the case.
The atmosphere was charming and so were the staff. It was such a cozy place to be on a cold night. But the best thing was the food! The scallops were the best I’ve ever eaten and my friend’s short ribs were perfect. Can’t wait to go back.
All courses, apps, entrees and dessert, were uniformly exceptional. The bar and adjoining sitting area are comfortable and welcoming. Great place to a cocktail before dinner.
The food and service was superior! The chef simply created an amazing dining experience!
We had a wonderful experience at The Hotel Tides. There were 4 of us and we each had something different for dinner and we shared appetizers. Each meal was delicious and everyone was raving about their choices. We had the steak special, short rib, crab cakes and the chicken dish. For apps we had the salad, tuna, and the ever fabulous mussels. Our server was knowledgable and a lot of fun. We are all looking forward to our next visit.
Service was extremely slow for a non-fully seated restaurant on a Saturday night. Our server was inattentive w/ our table. Food took an unusually long time to come out from the kitchen. Food was luke warm and way over-salted. Sadly, I will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant.
Our second visit to this restaurant for celebration. The first was for my husband's birthday, the second, this time, was for our anniversary.
I'm shocked this place is not more visible for it's AMAZING food and service! Consistently great service. Lovely decor and the menu leaves no disappointment. I did not offer 5 stars on food this time around just because the short rib my husband ordered was a bit less "fall of the bone" than we expected. Not sure if it was quality of the meat or the meat temperature. My duck was tasty, I only wish the meal was a bit more hot to service.
We had the squash soup, bang bang shrimp as starters. 5 stars. The ricotta cheesecake was yummy, a little more firm textured than I expected, but great. The vanilla creme brulee...GET IT! Perfection. Carl was our server and he is just an awesome down to earth and graceful human.
The establishment is a jewel, beautifully appointed white table cloth high end experience. We tried Cave the night before and it was wonderful food, but the ambiance does not compete.
I say go for Tides!
The ambiance was amazing the food and the service was superb I would go back in a heart beat.
It’s always a special place for us.
Food and service very good. Reliable place where every selection is consistently above average.
My husband and I had the most delicious, enjoyable dinner here last Friday. We had come with friends another time and also enjoyed it tremendously. Great ambiance and wonderful food. Highly recommend.
Stacy the bartender set the mood with making a good cocktail and conversation. Nice Jazz was playing at a level that did not disrupt conversation. Dinner entrees were delicious - highly recommend the short ribs and the duck spring rolls for appetizer!
Carl ( our server) is very pleasant and did a great job. The food was tasty and adequately priced. We went off season since it was tough getting an Open Table reservation during summer.
Food, service, decor all amazing
I am so glad this is still a little bit of a neighborhood secret for dinner in the off season. The management and staff are very friendly, the food is fresh and the atmosphere warm - can not ask for more than that.
The Short Ribs are a must!
We love this place. The food is always delicious and it’s very cozy in there. Staff is typically friendly and accommodating and the menu isn’t overpriced.
After reading a review for this restaurant in a local paper we were very anxious to give it a try. We checked the menu on their site and were pretty sure that we would have quite a few choices we might enjoy. After we were seated a very personable and competent waiter brought us the drink menu and the food menu. We both ordered house specialty cocktails which we really enjoyed. But then came the disappointing part. The menu was extremely limited with only 5 or 6 main courses although there were many more appetizers. The main course menu included maybe half of the items shown on the website. We asked the waiter if there were any nightly specials but he said there were none. So we both settled for short ribs which were very good but didn't have enough sauce. The appetizers were fine and the desserts were good. We found out later there was a new chef in charge so some of the more interesting main courses that we saw on their site were no longer available. A restaurant like this should not have such a limited menu!!
Excellent place to have a nice dinner, service and food is excellent
Great food, service and atmosphere Nice quite dining space.
Great date night spot! Great food, service and ambience. Will definitely be navk
My family was able to get together and enjoy each other company.
Fabulous experience as always.
Bravo to Ryan and our server Carl.
Thank you again, Carol
Service and food were excellent
Food is delicious but dont go there hungry because you’ll leave hungry. Portions are super small for what they charge for an entre.
