By far our favorite destination for a weekday dinner or an evening of entertaining. The absolute best service and consistently great food and bar selections. Certainly our go to when we want it to be a worry free evening.

A wonderful and memorable 54th anniversary at Ryan's. I asked for a quiet table and we were given a corner two-top with view of the creek. Victoria congratulated us and brought us flutes of complimentary champagne. Our meals were delicious and comfortably paced. Fresh clean oysters, she-crab soup, the wedge salad with gorgonzola, a blackened prime rib for my bride, and ribeye for me. No room for dessert. We'll be back.

My husband is a big beef eater and complains “ there is no good steakhouse in Winston Salem . A friend of ours said she has had several recos to try Spotted Cow so we all tried it last night. Conclusion — Winston has a great new steak house! My husband loved his ribeye that was cooked as he requested along with his new favorite baked sweet potato. And he is a tough judge of beef cooking / seasoning. I am not a big beef eater so thoroughly enjoyed bourbon salmon ( again perfectly cooked as requested so nice not to have over cooked ). Caesar salad and broccoli were also very good. Our friend loved her huge burger, too. Entrees are generous and with price including salad + 1 side are good value, too. Add that server was upbeat and incredibly accommodating on our requests along with ensuring our food was served as request, it was a perfect meal. I wish I could recall our servers name as she is outstanding ! We will be back. ( And will be back frequently if parking doesn’t become a challenge…..main reason we don’t go downtown often especially Trade St)

Wonderful, bright and upbeat atmosphere. Our food was delicious and cooked to perfection. We shared their outstanding coconut pie for dessert. Everything, including the wait staff, was impressive.

Our party of three had a great evening at Sage and Salt. Cocktails were superb, I had the "Legal Drinking Sage" and the other two members of our party had a glass of wine. The crab and artichoke dip appetizer was served with Naan and Crostini and was also delicious, maybe just a bit overshot with butter or olive oil resulting in some oiliness to the dish. Our entrees were fantastic with Steak, Tuna and Salmon being enjoyed and each party was equally satisfied. Sides included Brussel Sprouts, twice baked potatoes and Asparagus and I heard no complaints. We rounded out the meal with pound cake accompanied by a very boozy tasting cream and fresh berries. Overall, we had a great experience, even though the meal was pricier than our usual, it was a quality meal, and we didn't leave dissatisfied with the value of the experience vs. the price. I highly recommend Sage and Salt for a high-quality dining experience.

Discover Winston Salem

Dubbed the "Twin City," and the "City of the Arts and Innovation," Winston Salem is a thriving place where cuisine choices are abundant, and Southern food is a popular option in a city filled with both traditional and modern restaurants. Dine on fried pickles, crab cakes and tomato bisque in a casual bistro or go fancy with country ham and fried green tomato, or eggs Benedict with cornbread, collards, redeye gravy and a chive hollandaise sauce. Surprisingly, Continental cuisine is a big hit in the area with favorites like pan-roasted diver sea scallop served with a risotto with English peas, oven dried tomatoes and a chipotle plum and asparagus vinaigrette.
