At the edge of the CBD, in the spectacular 22-hectare waterfront precinct where an old container terminal once stood, discerning foodies can now find some of the city’s best sushi in Barangaroo. Established in 2016, the newest addition to the Zushi restaurant empire is in Sydney’s impressive new harbour foreshore playground. Zushi Barangaroo is both stylish and comfortable, capturing the relaxed style of a typical Japanese bar or izakaya designed by the renowned architect Koichi Takada. We offer premium service complimented with a wide selection of imported beers, Japanese inspired cocktails, and Japanese sake and whisky.
Zushi prides itself on using only carefully sourced local ingredients; the freshest vegetables and sustainable seafood where possible and most of the menu is gluten-free. We are open every day for lunch and dinner, serving delectable sushi, sashimi and share plates. And the glorious harbour views are pretty tasty too.

    The food was good and service attentive without being overbearing. A slight mix up with the tempura order was quickly fixed. The kingfish carpaccio was excellent as an entree, one of the best I've had and the wagyu steak with pears was also very good.

    While the food was great, we were being pushed out of the restaurant since the moment we stepped in. I got there and my friend was 15 min late, and I was told multiple times I would need to order because X left. When my friend arrived we were forced to order and then they came over to us while eating to move us along. I was aware of the 1.5 hour sitting, but didn’t need to be reminded every 10 min and then have the bill handed to us with 25 min to go!

    As it was catch up time with my friend that we haven’t met for 2 years, we had conversation with my friends. However, the waiter who served us keep asking us on what do want to drink but we still don’t have time to have a look at the menu since we busy with our convo and waiting for the other friend to come. It was annoying that the waiter keep asking what drink we want to order while we still in the middle of conversation. After that, the waiter forgot to bring one of my colleague drink until we asked her. Food was average nothing special

    My friends and I came for my 19th birthday dinner and I am very happy that I did. As soon as my friends and I sat down we were attended to for food and drinks. Wonderful service and friendly staff. The food all came out quickly and presented beautifully with beautiful flavours and textures. The atmosphere was great with warm heaters and tons of people. Chairs are very comfy which I was happy about due to sore feet. For entrees my friend and I got the chicken karrage to share. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a beautiful crunch to it on the outside. 2 of my friends had the sushi rolls. Generous roll portions but was very happy due to paying $22 a roll so worth it!. My friend got the vegetable tempura. In my opinion thought the portion was a tad small but did look delicious. For main I got the salmon. I payed $39 for a tiny piece of salmon over some lettuce with a sauce and a slice of lime. A bit overpriced, I’d say $25 would be a more appropriate price. My friend got the tacos which were presented beautifully and tasted delicious.

    Already wrote a google review so ill just copy paste: Went today (15th June) for dinner and overall, we enjoyed it. There were around 4-5 staff on tonight, however it seemed like only one waiter (the asian guy) was doing proper work. We raised our hand multiple times but got ignored by other waitresses. Wait times were okay, some dishes arrived quickly, other dishes took up to 30 mins, tho not sure if this is due to lack of space on table or just delays. However, everything tasted great. Sashimi was fresh, rolls were yummy and the tempura prawns is truely a highlight! It was done in the proper Japanese way where the batter is thin but crispy and the prawn itself was soft and tasty. I'd like to emphasise the great service provided by our waiter. He was attentive and professional, making the night special for my partner and I. If it wasnt for him, the experience would have been par average due to the fact that other waitresses ignored our raised hands on multiple occasions.

    Really enjoyed my birthday dinner at Zushi. All the food was so delicious, especially the wagu tataki and the sticky date pudding. The service was great and we didn’t have to wait long for the food to come out which was fantastic. Will definitely be back!

    Every time I go to Zushi, the food tastes even better than the last time. They are constantly iterating and innovating. The flavour is matched only by the presentation. It's tremendous value for money and I rarely leave without a doggy bag. Even on a cold and windy day, one feels snug as a bug in a rug. I take my friends, parents and business associates there. Definitely one of my favourite spots in Sydney.
