Great night at Zinc - there was a wine dinner on, which was hosted with amplified speaking - which was quite disrupting, as we were a group of friends catching up.However once we asked to be moved inside they did immediately and were great about it.
Food was lovely, drink service quick and service in general terrific.
We had the eye fillet steak accompanied by a side of pumpkin salad. We chose wine by the glass from a good wine list. Food and wine did not disappoint.
On a normal day i would give our experience 100%. Ill still give 100% because the things that went wrong weren’t in your control. It was raining and in the area where the plastic blinds were it was noisy and water was dripping on our heads, clothes, shopping, table etc. we were moved inside which we loved. Food and sevice exceptional - especially guy with blonde poytail.
Fantastic food & service.
Great food and really friendly service.
Was good enjoyed the meal and service , would recommend to others will probably go again
Thank you Piper for looking after us at Zinc. Wonderful service. Beautiful food.
Went there as a couple expecting a nice fine dinner with a menu for everyone. Loved the idea of having a cocktail as well. We didn’t get disappointed at all. Great service, nice food. Cocktail would have been nice without the dissolving paper straw though. They accidentally served my desert to someone else, but realised soon after which made me wait only a tiny bit longer but that was nothing really and they serviced it on the house. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to try all other meals.
I had the barramundi which was cooked well and the Thai curry sauce was tasty enough however the fish had a bit of a chalky mouth feel. I have never experienced this with barramundi before and wonder if it was a farmed fish and not wild caught.
The dessert, chocolate délice was most enjoyable and the service was attentive without being intrusive.
Zinc is fast becoming my favourite place to dine out. The service is so welcoming, friendly and professional. Delicious meals and a great wine list.
The staff were friendly and attentive at Zinc and the ambience pleasant. We sat outside - inside may have been a bit noisier. The fried squid was exceptional; tender and not at all greasy as can often be the case. For main I ordered the barramundi, which I knew was farmed, and was disappointed; the texture just wasn't that of wild barra. However, the sauce flavours and accompaniment were delicious.
Our order took over an hour to arrive but the delay was understandable considering the number of customers.
We booked a table for 7pm and arrived 10minuted early so got a drink in the bar until our table was ready. We were not seated for a further 25minutes and we waited almost another 20minutes for our order to be taken. Service was slow as there were large bookings which we understood but to not have our mains until 815pm for a 7pm booking was a long wait. Otherwise staff were lovely but the value wasn’t there for the price we paid unfortunately.
Absolutely the best restaurant in Port Douglas, everything exceeded our expectations. Coul not fault anything. The service, staff and food was awesome! Will definitely be back again.
Great food and attentive wait staff.
So yummy we were very pleased with meal and drinks.
Excellent service from waiter "Kyle", food mostly good . Not necessary to put any sort of coating on the baby squid, covers the flavours......the merest dusting of flour would have done the trick! A pleasant night!
The food (the entrees) were very good, the linguine was below average. The service was well below par. Whilst the staff were friendly, we had to ask for the bread (and it was brought with the entrees), there was an unacceptable wait for food delivery, and until the very end no table service.
We had an excellent lunch. Great wine list with French bubbles by the glass. Food was sublime. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Nicolla
We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and was told to go away until opening at midday. My 84 yr old mother was in a wheelchair so it’s not easy to “ go away” even for ten minutes. We did however “ go away” and arrived back at midday for our reservation.
It took 1.5 hours for our main meal to arrive at the table. As two (including my 84yo mum) had only ordered a main this was an extremely long wait. I have no complaint about the meals because they were exactly as ordered and were good.
When the bill arrived at the end of the meal we asked to be divided three ways and we were staggered when the waitress said it was $140 each TOTAL $520.00
There were 7 of us
2 ordered the lunch special @$35
2 only had a main course
2 had entree and main
1 had entree and salad
We had 1 bottle of wine and from memory 6 beers and 1 mocktail
Oh yes..... 1 fries!
Either the waitress made a mistake or this is the most expensive restaurant in Port. Coincidentally we had dinner at Salsa that same day that was a lot cheaper for a lot better!
Great Italian food and excellent wine every And good service every time.
Food was great wife wanted seafood which not available
Zinc was a lovely place to dine. It was very busy and took almost and hour to get meal and my husbands steak was a little overdone for medium. We were disappointed that when it came to order, the meal 3 out of 4 of us wanted was no longer available But overall we had a pleasant experience. The staff were very much on top of everything and very polite and professional. The ambience was lovely and I would go back again. There was a good selection on the menu as well.
Dined at Zinc twice when I was in Port Douglas. Absolutely amazing food and exceptional service, highly recommended
We had a great table, great service and the Kingfish was superb.
Treated like royalty.
A fabulous choice for a special dinner occasion! We were looking to dine in a central location, with atmosphere and fresh seafood menu and were elated with a quiet candlelit table outside, next to the garden and delicious food. The service was so friendly and efficient and we really enjoyed our evening.
We loved the ambience of the restaurant and the wait staff were delightful. The Cob loaf and oil/balsamic and dukkah was delicious - The meal was beautifully presented, but not outstanding - We were looking forward to a wonderful piece of Barramundi and, although quite delicious, it was a little over-priced for the actual effect. Overall, though, we would recommend this restaurant to visitors.
Absolutely loved our dinner here, the staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. LOVE
We eat at Zinc at least twice each time we visit Port Douglas and have never been disappointed. Great food, great staff, perfect location.
Great environment good service nice food, prices reasonable
Beautiful food, relaxed atmosphere, staff were great
This restaurant is a must whilst in Port Douglas. We went twice in a fortnight. Ticks all the boxes and would thoroughly recommend it.
Should be amazing. Didn’t start very well. Pushy service - “why don’t you try a margarita at the bar first” was the first words out of the maître d’s mouth. No thanks. Followed as soon as we sat down by “San Pellegrino OK?” Again, no thanks (I have an aversion to overpriced imported sparking water!). Then within five mins of sitting down we were asked four times “are you ready to order”. At that point we nearly left. Calm down people!! After that it was lovely. Great food (beautifully presented), the rest of the service good and value for money excellent. We were in hindsight “later”dinners for the place - but it was 7:30 not 10:30. First impressions matter and this one need not have been so average.
Great food and fast friendly service. Excellent wine from a good wine list.
Delicious food and good variety of wine by glass. Visiting port Douglas for two weeks ,I dined there 4 times and consistently good
Hi It was absolutely lovely. Staff, food & as we had the $35 special, very, reasonable. The food & the Shiraz were delicious. I have given a “did not notice“ for sound as we had gone there for the Jazz afternoon so of course the noise level was higher. What a great thing to be doing there & we will be back for the Jazz afternoon, if not before. Thanks.
Fantastic venue, we went for the Jazz day last Sunday, perfect day & food was lovely.
Service was outstanding, special thanks to our waitress the lovely" Piper " and also per co workers. The band was outstanding, enjoyed the whole experience, looking forward to more Jazz in the future. Well done to all involved
We booked in for lunch with the 2 piece jazz ensemble playing. The place was full and the live music was awesome and it was such a great atmosphere with everyone so happy. Added in the exceptionally great lunch deal of $25 for 2 courses & glass of wine, we were very satisfied. We ended up having more wine, cocktails, the dessert was amazing and left very happy 4 hours later.
Food was out of space. Never had eye fillet so good and im picky . Great selection of wines and cocktails. I really enjoyed the warming service. I never felt like just a number. Atmosphere 12 out of 10
Fantastic food and service. High knowledge of allergies. One of the best restaurants in Port Douglas. Highly recommend!
