wonderful for foodies. pre-dinner cocktails were outstanding. standard drinks had a little extra something that made them unique. service and food were outstanding. we only missed having some raw seafood, oysters or clams, as a possible appetizer.
We had a great time at our favorite table. The food was delicious as always and we love those smoked duck nachos! The place was jumping and a lot of fun.
Food options were terrific - mix of small plates went together perfectly!
DELICIOUS! We all loved it, best meal I’ve had in a long time. Two of 4 of us had dietary restrictions (gluten free and vegetarian) and we all left satisfied. Very flavorful food and we plan to return soon!
Excellent selections of delicious healthy items. Great professional service. Friendly atmosphere.
It was an amazing experience, the service was incredible. The food was really great, my date loved her paella and I enjoyed my pork belly. The grits were amazing and the sauce was to die for. Definitely coming back
Michelin star worthy
My meal (salmon) was delicious, but extremely buttery and of course butter makes everything taste better. My husband ordered the tuna which came with kale, however the kale was deep fried and when it's deep-fried and flaky like that, it no longer resembles or even tastes like kale. It was more like crunchy greasy potato chips. Please consider another way to cook the kale.
Service and one of our dishes was not up to previous visits. Maybe an off night.
Excellent as always! Lots of options and delicious.
Our dinner was delicious and our server was awesome. We will certainly be back many times during the next few years when visiting our granddaughter, now a freshman.
Daughter’s 30th Birthday
The food was outstanding. Lots of delicious appetizers as well as fantastic entrees. The location and ambience is perfect.
Excellent food and great service!!!
Always A+. Food. Service (love Martha!). Never a bad meal.
Food was great but we felt pressured to leave from our server throughout the entire meal. She even went as far as to grab the bill before we were ready to pay without asking. We won't be served by her again if we go back.
Great food. Fantastic service. Satisfying menu. Not overwhelming proportions. Delicious desserts. Extensive drink menu. Perfect atmosphere. Dark and cozy, trendy decor, nice background music.
The vibe was great. It was urban, classy and relaxing. Wines were good . We had a Riesling and a Chardonnay . The appetizer of vegetable rolls had uninspired taste yet presented nicely. We both had the Sechuan chicken entree which was dry and flavorless. If not for the side sauce for dipping, I would have sent mine back. The purple rice and vegetables had no flavor. I was very disappointed as one previous meal at Zinc was wonderful and memorable.
Excellent service. My family goes there several times when we are in New Haven.
The restaurant has a very nice, lively ambiance. Despite being busy they seated us right away.
We had had a late lunch and weren’t very hungry so we ordered 5 appetizers for 3 of us on the waitress’ recommendation. It was just the right amount. Each dish was really delicious. Most had heat so if you don’t care for spicy be sure to ask before ordering.
The staff was very friendly and the cost reasonable.
Had a steak entree and the cut was a little fatty and the tuna with kale.Did not care for the kale perhaps deep fried and was crispy
This restaurant never lets us down. This was restaurant week so we thought we would take advantage but were skeptical after a so so experience at another restaurant last year - Zinc delivered with a great dinner - we sat at the bar over a table due to the crowd that night - easier to talk - great bartender. Salmon appetizer was excellent- excited for them to add to the menu.
Likely wont be returning to Zinc. Food was not as good as usual - meatballs overcooked and brisket overly fatty. Had a question about parking validation and front end manager tryed to employ customer service but came off condescending and arrogant as he explained that anyone can place a sign and there was no validation. He further explained the parking authority was owned by Zinc and the parking would be $4 - it was $10. Will learn to make duck nachos at home and will not be returning. Came with 5 guests for a triple birthday - it wasnt acknowledged despite my call ahead.
We love Zinc - we tried the restaurant week menu - all the courses were fabulous. We had a lovely evening.
I thought the meatball appetizer was the weakest link. They were hard and dry but the sauce was great.
The duck nachos were very good but would have liked more of the drizzle. The salmon and duck curry were outstanding. I just wish it wasn't so noisy but will go back for sure perhaps on a weeknight.
Terrible slow service. Very loud. Food good though.
A great place for restaurant week in New Haven. Tried a dish I would have not opted for on a regular night. The shrimp special was amazing!
Enjoy your new haven restaurant week with a couple friends. The service was great. The food was fresh and delicious.
Excellent food and service. Love the different types of food items on the menu and the different portion sizes available. You see things on this menu that you do not see most places. Only negative is the noise in the dining area and the tables being so close together.
The food was very good. It was our first time there, the staff was very nice. The place was a bit noisy but it was a Friday night😊. The decor was very modern and relaxing.
American food with an Asian flare. Levels of flavors that reveal themselves with each bite which usually finish with a delightful heat. Delicious and flavorful food... didn't want to stop eating! I had the salmon which was a large portion and a perfect medium rare cook. The cream sauce was light and absolutely delicious. My fiancee had the chicken and said it was moist and flavorful. Service from Rachel was spot on. She was attentive and knowledgeable. We will be back for sure!
We’ve been to Zinc several times and have always been quite satisfied with the food and the service. Restaurant is very convenient for us and has very good vibes. The food is very creative too with many dishes having an Asian influence.
Excellent, hopping restaurant across from the New Haven Green. Farm to table, creative! Highly recommended.
Zinc has been consistently our go to spot in New Haven since 1999. The food is always exceptional and the staff well educated on the menu and wine list.
Lovely. Enjoyed everything we ate.
Delicious food and drinks. A must place to visit for an excellent dinner.
Wonderful service delicious food. Will go back again and highly recommend.
Food and service was good. It took way too long for food, including appetizers to be brought to our table. That was my only true complaint,
I like the farm to table adherence thus supporting local and organic farming.
The appetizers are varied and I particularly like the Duck Nachos, and the Lettuce Wraps. My favorites, from the main dish selection, are the Scottish Salmon, the Vietnamese Charred Chicken, and the Grilled Yellowfin Tuna--all so very tasty.
