Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden
My boyfriend and I went with my friend and her fiancé and we all agreed that we’d be going somewhere else next time we go to JC. The food was not very good, and the service was slow. At first, they only gave us the octoberfest menu, and we had to ask for the normal menu. I got the smoked wings, and asked if I could substitute brussel sprouts for the mac and cheese/fries, and the waiter said the restaurant didn’t do substitutions. I asked what if I paid more or got a side of brussel sprouts. He said he’d ask the chef. He came back and the chef had said no he couldn’t do that. They have brussel sprouts on the menu, so it made no sense. I never heard of a restaurant not making substitutions definitely if the costumer offers to pay for it. My boyfriend got a dish that contained 3 different meats. The pulled pork and the brisket were inedible.
Enjoyed a great evening with colleagues we will definitely be back
My wife and I visited at happy hour, after a day at Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Parking was easy and free, and there was plenty of nice seating. The service was fast. We each had a liter of beer and we split a giant pretzel and a plate of various types of sliders. The food and beer was great, and the prices were very reasonable.
There were all types of people here: fashionable couples, groups of friends from work, single guys talking to the bartender, girlfriends on a night out, and a chess club for young kids that looked super fun. Everybody was relaxed, and everybody seemed like they were having a great time. It reminded us a community beer hall that we had visited in Austria: everybody welcomed, and something for everyone.
We wished we could have stayed longer, and we wished Zeppelin Hall was located closer to Baltimore, where we live. If we are ever in Jersey City again, it is a definite stop for us.
Great place for big groups, with a huge parking lot just next to it. Good food, good music and good vibe!
No more table service on a weekend. Chairs and tables are old, sticky...
We had a huge party and the beer garden accommodated us wonderfully. Huge tables and fantastic ambiance.
Great beer, beautiful outdoor patio, fun live music, friendly staff.
I called 2 weeks in advance and asked if a reservation was needed for a sunday Brunch I was told I did. We arrived and it was empty host did not acknowledge us we waited 30 minutes for waitress. Service was awful and not to mention the Bar tender working on Sunday August 18th was the worst at greeting people, had an attitude the whole time and never asked if we wanted another drink before closing our tab. I will never reccomend this place to anyone.
Good service , manager gave us 4 tables close to each other which really worked for 30 of us ! Food is good too but would be great if there were more vegetarian options in the menu ! Ambience is great for outdoors area ! One of the girl bartenders in the outdoor area wasn’t friendly at all but we worked with her anyway ! We gave so much business to beer garden that day and I wish she was nicer ! Rest was all good ! Manager that day was great !
The selection of beer is great ! The sausage were really good, we don’t eat meat too often but we’re glad we ate here
The service was AWFUL! Any time I’ve been there at night, it’s self-service. But during the day it’s full service. Our sever continually forgot about us. Someone needed a spoon and he came back three times and once at the table remembered he forgot it. He served us all our food without any utensils or napkins and we had to ask twice for them to be given to us. Someone wanted a beer that was only at one bar and the server told us that we would need to go and get it ourselves. Meanwhile he had to go to that room/area to get our food. The food and beer was delicious, but the service was terrible. He only received the tip he did because gratuity was automatic because of our party size.
We made reservations for Brunch today at 12:00 pm and were denied table service and were being forced to sit outside in the heat because I had my toddler with me. To add to the disappointment, the bouncer Arsenio was very rude and condescending to say the least to my party. Also, There was no manager on duty to speak to and was told that i’d have to speak to the rude bouncer in charge. Had a I known I would be discriminated against for having a child with me to go have brunch, I would have never made a reservation to begin with. Just a warning to those who wish to bring their children with them. Or just stay away and dine in a more child friendly environment as we chose to. Why not put a sign outside that says “children only allowed outside” As rude as they are
Went to see the soccer game but it was muted the entired time :(
The staff was rude and took forever even though t wasn’t crowded. The bouncer was rude. Food arrived cold
Thirteen of us recently celebrated my husband’s 65th birthday. It was perfect! The staff was so nice, but Rachael in particular was amazing—by far the best experience we’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. She went above and beyond to make this a wonderful family experience and even found a candle for my husband’s dessert. Thank you for memories of a great day.
Great fun for Mother's Day. There is no service, you retrieve you own food.
Came for a party. Was able to get a table for 10-15 people easily. The staff was quick and accommodating to clear the table from the previous patrons. Everyone enjoyed themselves and food service was quick. Will be coming back again.
I’ve been to Germany many times and this place is amazing! You feel like you’re in Munich! It rocks.
The place is good as a beer bar as it has a good selection of beers. But the food is not so good. My chicken was very dry, while potatos in potato salad were undercooked. Some tables around were not clean with lots of greasy plates standing on them for a while. My reservation (made via open table) has never been found but since there was planty of free tables (despite Suturday evening) we found a place to be seated. Overall experience is 3 stars out of five.
Great! Had a wonderful time
Online it stated there was a brunch menu so I made a brunch reservation. There were no brunch items available. There were also no bloody Mary’s available. The service was very slow and the staff just seemed unprepared. Overall not great.
The Surf and Turf special was delicious!!!
Awesome place to share a selection of great beers, amazing appetizers and food options. Would certainly recommened to anyone trying to just kick it back with friends, coworkers, etc. Oh, certainly enjoyed the live band as well!
I had my boyfriends surprise party here and it was amazing!! Drinks were great, space was great, music was great. He had an amazing time and so did everyone else!!
Great food server was trying but made a lot of mistakes. Seemed new. On the up side he was very friendly and made up for his errors in trying his best to correct the issue
Great space, very large! Drinks were fairly cheap & food was very fairly priced. We went for the Mardi Gras themed food which was mediocre - the regular bar food looked much tastier. Would come back in the summer though it's a bit of a walk from the Path.
GREAT PLACE! Went on a Sat night when a huge snowstorm was predicted so it was pretty much not crowded at all. Still the food was great, we had a relaxed game of trivial pursuit at our table and i can't wait til beautiful weather to return and take advantage of the outside area.
Had a great time with my coworkers! It was great for a big group and the drinks at happy hour were so cheap (just $5/drink). Service was also good overall had an excellent experience. The pretzel appetizers were fantastic!
