Everything was so so so fantastic, the service, the food, the ambience. But bathrooms were surprisingly gross.

Had a lovely meal on the outdoor patio, sharing a multitude of small plates among four people (the crispy Brussels sprouts are wonderful) with a bottle of Greek red wine that was perfect. Finished off by sharing three sumptuous desserts (the Greek cheesecake!!). It was $110 per couple with tip. Great value and a wonderful evening.

Having been here many times, I knew what to expect and was excited to visit again. The food was not at its usual quality. We were disappointed by more than half of our dishes. The outdoor area is lovely, staff is friendly but not overly attentive (I gave them a pass as most restaurants are short staffed currently). This has always been a favorite spot when we’re downtown, but I’m not sure we will return.

Great food. Somewhat slow service, but very congenial. Sat outdoors and there was an event at the library across the street with a lot of loud music so it was noisier than expected. The shrimp was the best I’ve ever had anywhere (the sauce was out of this world) and I would say that the fries were also probably the best I’ve ever had anywhere as well, extra crispy, just the way I like them! And the Turkish coffee chocolate cake was a masterpiece and totally scrumptious. Just a wonderful meal!

Our server was so attentive to detail, but in a calm, cool manner.
You MUST have the Greek cheesecake, not at all what I was expecting, and that's a GOOD thing!

They were busy but it took at least 5 minutes for someone to greet us at our table. The food was fantastic and for that alone, I would recommend them to others.

By far one of the most enjoyable dinning experiences I've had in a very long time. Go with the Chefs tasting menu, you won't be disappointed. And the entire staff at Zaytinya is attentive, friendly and patience.

Great choice of food. food very delicious. I have eaten indoors pre pandemic and it was terribly noisy. Outdoors this time and it was very noisy too-- tables close together in a very large space... lots of people.

I only made an indoor reservation because your website (and opentable) says vaccines required. When I showed up, not only was my vax card not checked but I was informed that it was no longer a requirement for indoor dining due to too many complaints from customers. While I respect your decision to set your policies however you see fit, I find it incredibly inappropriate to change these policies without a) updating your current reservations, and b) noting it on your site. When I asked to be moved outside given the unannounced change in policy and that I no longer felt safe, I was told that it was no longer an option as the tables were all booked. This was particularly galling because I'd originally had an outdoor reservation but only changed it after seeing your policy. The situation was poorly handled (the hostess noted that 'hopefully people are still being honest about their vax status') and I would have hoped your team would have been more prepared both for the questions about the shift and with solutions to accommodate folks that are no longer comfortable with that situation.

I can't imagine how difficult it is to run, train, and staff a restaurant right now and I really am sympathetic to the gargantuan task in front of you. And I have the utmost love and respect for all things Jose Andres - he's truly amazing and as are everyone I've previously interacted with at his restaurants. But this was a massive misstep and deeply disappointing.

I know this is a damned-if-do, damned-if-you-don't situation, so I don't hold these policies (in either direction) against the establishment. But the single most important thing in this day and age is communication and on that front this experience was deeply flawed.

Wishing you all the best as your industry is facing its most challenging time. I look forward to visiting this restaurant (and your others) as you start to have greater clarity around your policies and procedures.

I usually LOVE Zaytinya-- until last night it was one of my favorite restaurants. But last night was a disaster. We were seated outside which honored our request. But right next to us was a huge party with a microphone so we had to speak loudly to have a conversation with our friends. It was very annoying. The service was really off: we had to ask for more bread three times. The food came out very slowly and drinks were even more delayed. One item we ordered never came. The food was good but given the slowness of getting it our table had one item, then another and then another so no way to mix and match and enjoy a plateful of tapas.

We loved our visit to Zaytinya! Our waitress was very kind. The food was delicious (we ordered meatballs, two flatbreads, lamb, tzatziki, and the crispy brussels). We ordered white wine based on the waitress's recommendation, and we greatly enjoyed that as well!

The food was up and down. The chicken was under spiced, the lamb was seasoned well but over cooked. The cauliflower and mushrooms were oily. The sauces and flavors were good. Desert left the meal on a down note with a molten chocolate cake that claimed had a Turkish coffee flavor. Try as we might we couldn’t find a hint of coffee.

Service is a total miss! It took nearly 30 minutes before our order was taken, then no refills on drinks or water the entire time, slow pacing of food... overall just terrible service. We understand that everyone is suffering from staffing issues now, but the restaurant was packed. If there isn't the staff to accommodate, then don't overextend.

We made reservations at Zaytinya because we have always found the food great and the service outstanding. Maybe we were a table he didn't think he should get, but it was not a great experience. He seemed to be serving the table next to us really well, but kept his back to us, and didn't bother with us at all. Dinner took well over 2 hours because he was really slow to come by with water, delayed taking drink orders - which ended up to be a simple glass of wine- and then we had to flag him 20 minutes later to put in our order. Once the food was ordered, it came promptly and was fine. When we asked for a bag for a take home box, it was similarly long delayed. I guess they were understaffed.

We really love dining here -- the servers are super nice and they help with explaining the menu. We had someone with us who has celiac disease and has to be very careful about not eating gluten. They made 4 dishes "safe" for her and we really appreciated the attention they gave it. With the dips and spreads they gave me several plates of carrots and cucumbers which we also thought was very kind of them. We thought the chicken dishes, the octopus, the hummus, and the tzaziki were all exceptional here. Highly recommend.

Came here to kick off my wife's birthday weekend. Could not have been happier. Service was excellent and friendly and our server, Joel, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Food was outstanding, drinks were delicious. Atmosphere and vibe was upscale but comfortable and friendly. Restaurant was clean. Prices were very reasonable, all things considered. There's nothing I wish were better or that I would change.
