Zane + Wylie's Seattle Steakhouse
The bartender was great. That was the only redeeming thing about our experience. We sat for 15 minutes being ignored by every service person there. It was not because the restaurant was busy. We left our table to ask the bartender to take our order after being completely ignored by every person working there. We only found out who are server was when she came to check on our meal over half way through it. The food was alright but not great and not in line with the price point. There are a number of wonderful steakhouses in Seattle. This is not one of them.
Our server wasn’t all that great. Took out order, but not super friendly, nor did she explore our dining needs.
Some other gentleman (from Brazil) chatted us up and gave us some great ideas. He was awesome. Steak was ok at best. Pretty disappointed since I’d been craving a ribeye for months. Probably will go elsewhere next steak craving.
Oh wait...the roasted vegetables were very good.
Hip and cool. Service was mediocre. Food was outstanding
Too loud, pricey and not exquisite, rude and pushy server. Don’t get me wrong, the food was ok... but $70 steaks in this loud casual joint wasn’t worth it.
The food was inconsistent, vegies over cooked, one pork chop cooked perfect, the other under done, French fries not edible, pumpkin cheesecake fantastic. Service was good.
This was the last day of "Restaurant Week" the restaurant was super busy. The service was spotty. My pork chop was so overcooked and DRY I could not even eat or cut it with a steak knife. Everything took a really long time and the restaurant was noisy and loud. I had gone here last year and had a completely different experience. Won't be back.
Worst service I’ve gotten in a long time. Waitress rolled her eyes multiple times and told us to Venmo each other because she didn’t want us splitting the bill. She also rushed us to order and asked us when we should be expecting everyone when we were 10 minutes early to our reservation. I left the restaurant angry and upset from the service we received- I feel personally offended honestly and would not come back if she was my waitress again.
Fine food. Fairly priced. Relaxed atmosphere. Informal. Excellent service. My only criticism is the menu is pretty limited in selection.
They seemed much more interested in socializing with each other than taking my order and for a steakhouse serving 40-60.00 steak, I want them to take things seriously. It was very disappointing so I walked across street and had some wonderful food and service before I went to the play.
Went for restaurant week, the food was good quality and relatively generous portions for the price point $35. The service, however, was spotty to say the least with dessert being delivered 30 minutes after dinner was cleared, followed by second attempt at redelivery of said dessert. Even the check had problems whereas we put two cards and they put the entire bill on one card. Unfortunately they automatically add service charges otherwise the tip would have been $0.
Came for SRW and had reservation but they were running behind as we didn’t get seated until 30 mins later. Sat down, places our drinks and food order. Both came but no utensils and water even we asked for it. Finally got our utensil but no napkins. It was hard to get our server attention. We finally got our bill and server never came back to check in us. Finally we had to ask another server. Food was good but service can be better.
One of the worst dining experiences I have had recently. I expect a much higher level of service when paying over $200 for a meal. There are much better steak houses in Seattle.
Both the tenderest, juiciest pork chop in town and the amazing molasses seed bread make this a restaurant worth visiting. It’s consistently great!
We waited for a long time before the food came. Then... appetizer came together with Entree, entree was cold... Then Dissert arrives without any folk/spoon... The whole process was messy. And the restaurant is called steakhouse, i think their steak can barely hold the name. Is it because I am using a newyorker's standard?
Multitude of servers. Appetizers went away and main course arrived, very smooth. Food was good. Steak was served with Fries. Polenta would have been classier.
The escargot was delightful as was the duck breast and cheesecake. The bartender knows how to make a truly excellent bourbon cocktail. Nothing was a giant portion, which I loved.
My only criticism is the utter lack of soft surfaces to absorb sound. There were times when I couldn't hear my date talk and the restaurant wasn't even half full.
The place was half empty but they still took 15 minutes to take our order. Then another 20 to get food. Then another 15 to get the check. The food was good but overpriced.
We found the food and service good but it was a little pricey. Paying $15 for a drink and over $60 for a steak was a little much? We compare it to an Outback which is a little over half the price?
All around excellent!
Adam was great. He enhance our dinner
First of all, the staff was all very friendly and knowledgable and helpful. I had chosen this restaurant as an alternate to the super expensive steakhouses in Seattle so expected it to be less "posh" but the quality of the food relative to the still expensive prices just was a bit too much.
They were fabulous with my many dietary restrictions
We had dinner here before a show at the paramount and wanted to try it and were happy it was open earlier so we could make a 6:30pm show.
The appetizers were good, the bread was great. Our server seemed new but tried really hard to do well and was very nice.
Where we started to feel disappointment was with the steak itself. Three in our party ordered the tenderloin, one had a NY strip and one had a ribeye. Two of the tenderloins were cooked to order, one was over cooked. The ribeye was ordered medium rare and came out medium. The NY was ordered medium rare and came out close to well done. We did ask for the NY to be re done.
Overall, it’s not a restaurant we will go back to. We felt it was overpriced for the quality. Hopefully the kinks will be worked out.
It was a very special celebration. Every bite of food, every beautiful presentation of our meals(especially the scallop/crab/asparagus with bearnaise), carpaccio was too pretty to eat(but we did) was perfect. Every last bite. The service was fantastic There was even a special flower centerpiece on our table. From cocktails to appetizers to dinner to dessert (best cheesecake except my family secret recipe we have had in a long time) it could not have been a better evening. We love everything about Zane & Wyllys.
Can’t say we had a great experience at Zane + Wylie’s. I ordered the French dip but received a Cubano sandwich instead. Our server offered to replace it, but my sister, niece and I were under a time crunch, so I had to pass. I have to admit the Cubano was pretty good. My sister ordered a $12 side of asparagus to be shared with our meals, but my niece somehow received four small stems of asparagus with her burger instead of fries. The burger had a tasty patty, but it was sandwiched between burnt buns that my niece chose not to eat. As for that asparagus, we were charged the full $12 for that side (that’s $3 per small stem) ... and full price for the burger and fries that didn’t come with fries. Asked for ketchup, and the server showed up with spicy mustard. The diet cola had absolutely no flavor, and our water was only refilled once ... by someone who wasn’t our server. We’re unlikely to return to Zane + Wylie’s and pay a lot of money for mediocre service and inconsistent quality of food.
Very nice wait staff and fun atmosphere, but I wanted the food to be better than it was. It was average and for the price I would have rather been at another steakhouse in town. Also they switched the temperature of my steak with my date and I also ordered soup and did not receive it. I wanted this to become a go-to, I would go back but not on a regular basis.
The food was alright, not as amazing as I hoped especially for the prices. It was SO loud I could barely talk to my husband. We were barely helped at all. I had to ask random waiters for things since I could never find our server. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t suggest anyone to go there. It was our 8th anniversary so I’m definitely bummed it wasn’t a better experience.
Our experience was fantastic beyond belief. For our anniversary, they gave us the best table + free champagne + free dessert. The cocktails, appetizers and main courses were delicious and the service was outstanding. We plan to come back very soon!
It was okay, nothing special. Steak was way over priced for what it was. Bit of rubber if anything but.... veg was good I guess
We booked on open-table at 21.45 as it was the last booking possible. We have landed at Tacoma at 20.55. We got an Uber and then went straight to the restaurant, happy to go back in the same place where we had a nice steak at the bar in April. I understand that the restaurant closes at 22.00, but if a reservation at 21.45 is accepted, well, we should have been welcomed differently. We stepped in and they made a look. They were unpleasantly surprised to see customers stepping in at 21.45. I told them that I had a reservation, and they replied “let me check if it’s ok”. Then they let us sit and we had a steak. The waiter was nice to us, his smile recovered the heavy atmosphere. The general feeling was not nice, at the end we asked two additional glasses of wine but somehow we first received the bill, without the glasses in. Then the waiter arrived with two empty glasses and a bottle to serve us the glasses, apologising for the confusion. We said “no” as we already gave our card and we also got the message. I understand that they were tired and that they were willing to close. They should take the 21.45 reservation off the menu then. Anyway, that restaurant no longer exists for us. Best.
We went to Zane + Wylie’s on Father’s Day to celebrate the day as well as our son’s graduation from Seattle University. We were treated like very special guests by all the staff. Our meals were outstanding with the strips and tenderloins perfectly cooked and the bread unbelievably delicious. We love your Seattle Fashioned cocktail and the good wine selection. We also sampled three of the desserts which were all excellent! Altogether a wonderful evening!
The service was outstanding. We felt so welcome. The food was excellent as well. Convenient location to the Paramount. We'll be back!
The service was outstanding and the food was very good. My steak was perfectly cooked and the meals were well priced. Will dine here again when in Seattle.
We had our prom dinner here, and although it was expensive it was really tasty too! Also everybody was nice.
Where do I begin. They spoil us! We had oysters then oysters casbarian which Nico and Kevin Davis brought us from Blueacre (the second of their restaurants across the street). A big benefit of dinning at Chefs restaurants al these years. Then perfectly prepared steak, lamb and halibut followed by a special birthday Sunday and coffee. The Cedergreen wine was a wonderful compliment with all the oysters we enjoyed. We all had a fantastic time as always Love this restaurant and the staff and food.
Superb service and the food was awesome. Will definitely return.
Wonderful food and service. Super accommodating with a larger group. Look forward to another yummy meal there in the future.
Service was absolutely excellent. It was a team effort. Sure enuf, other reviewers were right it is a bit noisy, not bad but noticable. Steaks we're we're cooked properly and no complaints.
We visited Zane + Wylie's for the first time because they were one of the many restaurants featured for Seattle Restaurant Week. I made a reservation for 6 of us for 7:30pm and was able to get seated a little earlier. The host (I think is also the manager?) was very nice and personable. When I asked for recommendations, he was super helpful when talking about the signature dishes there. The ambiance is fairly modern with a dash of cowboy. I thought it was tastefully done.
We started off with appetizers from the main menu: escargot & the carpaccio of beef. Both were delightful! The carpaccio came in a huge plate and it was gone in a matter of seconds. The escargot wasn't chewy and the pastry on top was a great touch. We ended up ordering 3 sets off the restaurant menu which pretty much meant we ordered one of everything off of it. For appetizer, we chose the salad and french onion soup. Both were alright, the highlight was the mozzerella included with the salad..YUM!
For the main course, we had ling cod, pork chop, and the wagyu steak. The pork chop was absolutely DIVINE! sooooo good. Cod and steak were ok, good but nothing that I would return multiple times for. But the pork shop though.....still dreaming of the rhubarb mustard sauce that it came with. So delicious.
For dessert, we did the blueberry lemon sorbet, upside down cake, and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was hands down my favorite and the best I've had in a REALLY long time.
Service was good. Very attentive. All in all, it was a great experience. Will definitely be returning to try their steaks and have their bread pudding again!
Not sure if it was an off night, but the service was painfully slow. We ordered bread 3 times and it finally came at the end of our entree. Drink refills weren't offered and we went for some time without water for the table. We were never informed of any delays until we spoke with the manager at the end of the meal who told us it was a slow night in the kitchen. Food was good, steak was cooked a little under, but flavors were good. It did not seem to me that the delays had to do with restaurant week, they weren't overly busy.
I have had a good experience in the bar before, would definitely give that a try again, but we felt ignored in the dining room.
